Overview
Explore Broome on a city sightseeing tour that introduces you to interesting attractions like Sun Pictures, the world’s oldest outdoor cinema. Visit Town Beach to learn about Broome’s role in World War II, check out Gantheaume Point for a look at ancient dinosaur footprints, and see Chinatown and the historical port. When booking, you have two options to choose from to end your sightseeing tour—watching the sunset with snacks on Cable Beach or a sunset camel ride along the shore.
What to Expect
Your city sightseeing tour of Broome starts with a visit to Chinatown, where you’ll listen to stories about the district’s history. Browse jewelry at one of the city’s famed pearl shops, and listen to a historical audio performance at the retro Sun Pictures outdoor cinema.

Head into Broome’s old quarter, admiring historical architecture and homes that were once owned by the city’s many pearlers, and continue to Town Beach, where you’ll listen to stories about Broome during World War II, when the city was attacked by the Japanese. Then lighten things up with a stop at Matso’s Broome Brewery for a refreshing glass of ale or ginger beer before visiting the historical port where Japanese pearl divers first arrived in the city.

Other sights include Riddell Beach, the racecourse and Gantheaume Point, home to dinosaur footprints preserved in the red rocks. If you wish, you can take a dip in Anastasia’s Pool, a naturally formed circle in the rocks.

Your tour ends in one of two ways, both of which take place a bit outside of town at Cable Beach, famous for its long, flat stretch of white sand. Either enjoy a walk along the ocean and a few snacks while you watch the sunset, or go on a sunset camel ride, one of northern Australia’s most popular desert-style activities.
