Rangitoto is a fascinating place to visit, especially if you don't already have a lot of knowledge of volcanic islands. Mark was a wonderful guide- knowledgeable, easygoing, and a great sense of humor. Ride was a little bumpy, as Mark warned, but no real problem. If you're not a

We enjoyed the tram driver, Mark. He was very funny and engaging (but I'm sure his jokes have been practiced many times!). His commentary on the history and scenery was excellent. The dust from the tractor bothered my wife some.

Today we boarded Fullers 360 ferry to Rangitoto Island before boarding the 4WD transport. The trip up was a little bumpy and dusty but not uncomfortable. The commentary provided by our professional tour guide, Mark was both entertaining and informative. The views after climbing

Nice catamaran trip. Interesting island with good tour on bouncy 4wd train. 369 wooden steps up to view point abit of drag, but nice view at the top.

I don't recommend this tour, particularly if you're allergic to wasps or have any fear of them. They are numerous and will land all over during the tour, which sort of ruined it for me.

Response from Catherine-Fullers360, Front Office Manager at Rangitoto Island Tour from Auckland
Responded 17 Feb 2020
Kia Ora, thank you for taking the time to write this. We are really sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t the best because of wasps on the island. Although, they are not as much of a problem usually, wasps are often a lot more present due to the heat this time of the year. Department of Conservation’s website states "Wasp presence increases over the warmer months. If you have an allergy to wasp stings make sure you have appropriate medications to deal with any reactions." Our hope is that this experiences hasn't affected your wish to travel with us again, and that you weren't stung by any wasps! We hope we see you again and exceed your expectations then.
