Hobbiton Rotorua Waitomo
One day tour = Auckland to Auckland
From US$296.84
Visit the Hobbiton Movie Set, Rotorua, and Waitomo Caves on a tour from Auckland or Rotorua that combines three top destinations into a single day of exploring. You’ll step into the world of ‘Lord of the Rings,’ check out bubbling geysers and pools, then travel an underground river lit only by sparkling glow worms, following a route that makes the most of your travel time.
What to Expect
Meet a driver for pickup at your hotel in Auckland or Rotorua, then board a coach for the trip to Hobbiton Movie Set. You’ll pass through a sprawling sheep farm with views of the Kaimai Ranges and tour the Hobbiton Movie Set’s film sites and highlights.

After an included drink at Hobbiton’s Green Dragon Inn, continue 55 minutes to Te Puia in Rotorua. Dine in the Te Whakarewarewa Valley, then check out the simmering pools, springs, and geysers fed by Rotorua’s geothermal activity. The final stop of the day is Waitomo Caves, whose native glow worms shine and sparkle over an underground river. See thousands of the glow worms on a boat tour of the underground river as you learn about the geological significance of the caves.

This tour concludes with hotel drop-off, and you can choose between returning to Auckland or finishing the day in Rotorua.
