Treblinka Concentration Camp in One Day from Warsaw
From US$72.87
Discover the poignant history of Treblinka, home to a former Nazi concentration camp and penal labor facility, on a 7-hour tour from Warsaw. Far less crowded than the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, Treblinka features a museum, commemorative monuments, and peaceful natural landscapes. This small-group tour is limited to eight people to ensure an intimate atmosphere. Lunch, entrance fees, and hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your Warsaw hotel at 9am, when you'll board a vehicle for the 1-hour journey to Treblinka.
During the tour in Treblinka you'll first visit the museum, home to exhibitions presenting the organisation of the camp in miniature. Then, you'll walk among the ruins of the Penal Labour Camp and empathize with 20,000 inmates held here between 1941 and 1944. Feel the desperate courage of the 840 prisoners of the Extermination Camp who dared rebel against their fates in August 1943 and mourn their heavy losses. Find out more about mass deportation of Jews from Warsaw during Grossaktion Warsaw.
While Auschwitz is precisely reconstructed and resides in a cultural landscape with historic traditions, Treblinka is in a remote site, which lacks big cities nearby, only fields and woods.
Your tour concludes with drop-off at your Warsaw hotel.
