Overview

This Washington, D.C., bus tour is an affordable way to plan a day or two of sightseeing in the US capital. Instead of figuring out routes between main attractions, such as the White House and Arlington National Cemetery, book a bus tour with three routes. Move through D.C. at your own pace and stop at the sights that interest you. Tour includes admission to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.

What to Expect

Begin your adventure at any of the Big Bus stops on any of its three routes. Show your voucher as you board, and you’re ready to go.

Between the three routes, there are more than 40 stops at popular D.C. sights and neighborhoods. Pick your preferred stops and use the Big Bus as worry-free transportation to and from attractions. Wait time for a bus varies depending on the route and time of year and ranges from 15 to 45 minutes.

Along your journey, listen to both live and recorded audio commentary for information about the city. Upgrade to a Deluxe Ticket for access to a special night tour of the city. Both ticket options come with an admission ticket to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.

Book the hop-on hop-off bus tour ahead of time for seamless transportation to D.C.’s most popular attractions.

Enjoyed all three routes as well as the night tour.

Cassie was amazing! She brought the city to life. We enjoyed her personality, intelligence and communication skills very much. She was able to answer questions and provide insights that reflected impressive depth of knowledge. We highly recommend this tour.

As Deepa says, the buses are supposed to have wheelchair ramps. I know no more than that.

The nighttime tour goes by some of the same things but the route is tailored to take you by monuments, including a 30 minute guided walking tour of Lincoln monument, Vietnam and Korean memorials. Stunning at night.

We paid about $50 for each kid. However, I would go with Old Town Trolly - they are cheaper, and have more frequent buses. I live in DC and have tried both companies with out of town guests. I will never use Big Bus again... More
