The whole day was expected to be a great one but exceeded all expectations. We had the chance to have the car and driver just for the two of us. The driver was an extremely knowledgable person, on everything, flora, fauna, politics and, of course history. But not just what he could have learned in the books or in a guide school: he took part in several campaigns of archaeological excavations on the site of Caracol, of which one of six months on the spot, and was able to give us exclusive explanations drawn from his personal experience. This visit was definitely one of the most pleasant and interesting of our three weeks in Central America.

This company was chosen by our host and we are so glad they were. We did multiple tours and the guides were all amazing Celwin, Manuel, Leo, Brighton, Regge (guatamala). They all provided excellent service and were willing to go at a more relaxed pace to suit my needs. They all had passion for what they do, and wanted you to appreciate their country as much as they do. I would definitely choose this company for any of my Belize travels again.

We went on this tour as one of our honeymoon excursions with Gaia/Matachica. We had an amazing day experience at Caracol. It was pouring rain off and on throughout the tour but we all had rain jackets and we continued on our adventure, which I thought was so much fun! We learned so much about the culture and history .

Yes, there is a long and bumpy and winding road to get to Caracol. But so worth it! Leo kept us entertained the entire trip there and back. He imparted so much history of the area to us. Highly recommend this trip. Highly recommend Leo as a guide! There were only a handful of people there. Lunch was authentic and delicious. The falls and pools were beautiful even though we didn't swim there was the opportunity.

We had a great time visiting Caracol with our guide Cisco! The site is amazing and we were happy there weren’t many tourists there. Cisco did a wonderful job giving us so much information, he kept the trip fun for me and my husband! The food was also good! Highly recommend!

GREAT archeological site. And MORE than that. First, we went in the rainy season and our driver/guide (Dimas) was an expert at negotiating the hills, mud, and ruts. Others had more problems but not OUR guy!
The ruins are beautifully displayed and a good guide connects this site to Tikal and others. We have visited nearly every archeological site in Mexico and Costa Rica. This truly tied things together.
NOW,IN ADDITION. . . . We were treated to views of native animals: wild turkeys, iguanas, some curasso (sp?) birds, a black tayra weasel, and an alligator.
Then, at lunch, the various guides got to talking about MORE animals: “ I saw a deer.” “When? Where?” “I saw a jaguar.” “No way!” “Yep, right down the road.”
It made the excursion SO real because local folks were as impressed as we were.
We did see the falls and the pools and they, too, were enjoyable. If you can, definitely GO!!!

We wanted to see some Mayan ruins that were a little off the beaten path. So we took a day trip to Caracol. Our guide, Leo, was very educated on the history of the ruins and their excavation. The experience was incredible and we were well taken care of with lunch provided. While the drive was bumpy, the experience was definitely worth it.

Leo and Marlin ensured we had a great time and learned a lot on this trip. If there is a down side, it is a long, rough ride to Caracol. If one gets carsick (we had a full 12 passenger van) it might not be your thing. On the other hand, these ruins are spectacular and both driver and guide did all they could to make it great.
The refreshing swim on the way back was quite welcome.

Just got done with the trip and it was perfect. Was our first time going to Caracol and we were blown away. They were a bit late picking us up due to a traffic incident, but our guide Leo more than made up for it with excellent driving (the road isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be) and a truly amazing knowledge of the region and the site. He had worked on it when it was being dug up, and his knowledge was incredible. Far exceeded my expectations and I can confidently say we had the best guide there.
The packed lunch was delicious and afterwards we went for a very nice dip in a waterfall pool.
10/10.
