I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get up close and personal with one of the greatest historical sites in the world. Reggie was a excellent guide sharing all of the little details of this great Mayan city. I also loved the jungle paths that we took to get up close with wildlife as well. Mayawalk is the best! Hands down.

Our trip to Tikal was fantastic. Of course MayaWalk was on time and we had no issues crossing the border. Or guide on the Belize side damn forgot his name) explained the process and he guided us across the border. He was fantastic! On the Guatemala side Reggie our guide snd Walter our driver waited. We had to wait for several others from another tour vendor (not MayaWalk) who were late, so we lost 30 minutes. So I highly recommend use MayaWalk for this trip. This is a significant trip so the schedule is tight. On the way to Tikal we stopped at a fantastic gift shop. Ok, not everyone is interested in crafts but we loved it. So thank you Reg and Walter. Then we proceeded to the park. We lost a bit of time due to paving near the park. Reggie our guide was great. He doesn't climb the pyramids but talks about all the structures at ground level. You hit sll the main pyramids and conclude in the Grand Plaza. Its an ambitious schedule and Reggie kept us moving. Also the tour has to be out of the park by 1pm so you are moving from one structure to another at a good clip. Plenty of time to climb all structures and take pics. On a hot day it's enough. By 1pm you are pretty spent. On the way back you stop at Gonzalez Family Restaurant. It was delicious. All in all we had a fantastic time and loved it. MayaWalk crushed it again. No problems and on time. We tipped everyone and noticed not all did so, but these guys deserve it so kindly do so.

The tour is worth taking and I definitely recommend Tikal for its amazing history and ruins. The guide who showed us Tikal (Omar) was excellent and very knowledgeable. If you book with Mayawalk Tours, be sure to ask questions about all the charges since I was told one thing and that was not what happened regarding using my credit card for the payment. Also, they told me I would be picked up at 6:45 am and they showed up at 6:25 expecting me to be ready. Sometimes, it appears they try and cut corners and this inconveniences the passengers in the tour.

Hello Nayneshk, Thank you for providing us with this insight into how we can improve our service. I am glad you enjoyed the Tikal tour with us. We strive for excellence at all times, and we are always delighted by the feedback on our staff after tours. Tikal is a magnificent site, and I am happy you chose us to take you on this amazing adventure. I would like to address the pointers you made in your review, and I hope I can explain the situation and hopefully receive further information from you to ensure we understand your concern and can work on it for future clients. To provide a safe, convenient and secure option for our clients to make payments for their tour in the comfort of their hotels or homes, we signed up for software to provide that extra convenience. This was a very difficult thing to do for a company that is fully locally owned. Unfortunately, to use this service, there is an additional cost incurred by the client and also by the business. There is nothing like knowing your personal information is being securely handled. However, before making payment for any of our tours, the breakdown of what you are paying for is provided to you before you click on the link to complete your booking and it is visible on the box where you enter your credit card details. This way, if clients have any issues or questions regarding their payment, they can reach out to us. We like to be transparent. As I mentioned, this system was put in place for you to be able to confirm your booking from wherever you are without worrying about your credit card details being unsecured or having to come to our office to make payment before your tour. I apologize if this was not mentioned to you beforehand. If this is not what you meant by us using your credit card, please feel free to email us or respond so we can have more context. I would love to resolve this and provide even better service for our guests moving forward. As for the driver being there too early, I apologize for that. We do advise the drivers to be early for their pickups. Sometimes they are too early, and we will need to create a balance for that as we do not want our guests to feel rushed when we arrive early for them. Once again, I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Thank you for choosing MayaWalk Tours and we do hope to see you turn once again. Cheers and safe Travels, Samantha& the MayaWalk Team.

It was a great experience to travel to Guatemala to visit Tikal for the day. MayaWalk was very professional in handling the transfer of our group to another driver in Guatemala (Belizian drivers cannot drive tours into Guatemala), walking us through the border crossing where our very capable Guatemalan guide (Regge) met us and led us through a wonderful tour of the Tikal site. The lunch provided was very nice and we felt we were in good hands the entire day. We also appreciated that MayaWalk called our hotel and left a message with the front desk to let us know they were running a bit late for our pickup at the hotel. The MayaWalk office is located right in San Ignacio so it would be easy to drop in with questions or to book another excursion.

We are so happy we booked a day tour to Tikal with MayaWalk!

We met Karim in San Ignacio, and he drove us to the border. He made crossing extremely easy, down to the money exchange. One thing to note: they recommend not taking much cash as there isn’t much to purchase. I wish I had brought a credit card because there’s a neat market you stop at.

We met up with our driver, Walter, and then picked up our guide, Reggie. We had the option to get breakfast and it was outstanding - eggs and Guatemalan coffee and hot chocolate - don’t pass this up if given the opportunity. You will need cash for this as it is optional.

We then drove to the park. I cannot state this enough: Reggie was an absolutely fantastic guide! He showed us so many things that other guides passed by, taking the less traveled jungle hikes, giving us actual chicle to try, explaining the history and the ecosystem. He guided us and also balanced this by giving us time to explore on our own. At the end of the day, we returned to the van and Walter drove us to a different restaurant for another delicious Guatemalan meal.

I never once felt unsafe. Guatemala is a beautiful country, and like Belize, every one of its citizens who we encountered was lovely.

Do bring a water bottle and snacks for you (and some to share with your group). Do bring bug spray and sunscreen. The bathroom facilities in the park are excellent. Wear comfortable shoes as this involves a lot of walking.

At the end of the day, Walter and Reggie brought us to the border where Karim was waiting on the other side. It was a long day but so completely worth it. It was an incredible experience we will never forget.

This tour was not on our original itinerary but everyone we met loved it and they weren’t lying ! We switched up our ruins tour and decided to see Tikal. This trip was amazing and insightful. The border crossing went smoothly. Be sure to get some money at the border crossing. They will tell you the best person for an exchange rate. The tour stops at a place in case you want to buy a souvenir. Reggie was our tour guide and he was fantastic. He provided so much information on the Mayan culture and also takes great photos ! With a small group we were able to see a lot of the ruins. The food at the end of the day was delicious. The juice was great! Def look up guategoodtours.com and ask for Reggie !

truly a magical day, and absolute must-do if you are in San Ignacio. The tour was phenomenal, so educational and interesting and we got to see so many cool spots around Tikal! They made crossing into Guatemala seamless, the lunch was one of the best of my trip, and our tour guide took us through little trails while at Tikal, allowing us to see monkeys and toucans that others wouldn't have been able to see.
One of the highlights of my trip without a doubt.

Our favorite ruin experience yet! My husband and I booked this tour on a whim the night before and everyone was incredibly accommodating. Getting to the border was easy, getting through was smooth, and the drive through Guatemala shows a lot of the agricultural life of the local areas. The ruins are awe-inspiring and fairly untouched compared to many of the others we’ve visited, with the option to climb wooden stairs to the top of several. You also get to see what different stages of discovery, uncovering, and restoring look like, which we found fascinating! Our guide, Regge, was FANTASTIC and very passionate about the sites.

Pro tip: You need your passport, COVID vaccine card, and the Belize travel insurance to get back into Belize after the tour. We were able to buy the insurance at the border, but it would have been faster had we done it in advance!

We did two different tours with Mayawalk over the course of two days. First we did the Tikal day tour, which was unbelievable!! We were driven to the Guatemalan border and passed off to our guide Regge who then took over. Regge was so knowledgeable, friendly, and willing and able to answer all questions we had about the site. On the way back we stopped for a fabulous lunch. The next day we did the Xunantunich ATV tour with Jorge. He first took us for a trail ride on our ATV’s which was so fun and exhilarating! We then rode all the way to the site of Xunantunich where, again we could not have asked for a better or more knowledgeable guide. Just an all-around wonderful two days spent with Mayawalk!!
