Weaving in San Juan La Laguna
We attended a weaving class in the village at a place called Tinte Maya, a cooperative of women artisans. The ladies helped us make beautiful scarves in a lovely patio setting. They were so patient with us! It was a really great experience

          Good tour
The views you see in Atitlan are unforgettable, kind of the feeling you get at the Grand Canyon, majestic. The only problem I see is that after a 3 hour ride to the lake, they give you an hour to walk around, the hour is spent ordering and eating your food before returning.

          Amazing Tour! Highly Recommend
My daughter and I had the pleasure of touring Guatemala City with our incredibly knowledgeable and multi-lingual guide, Juan Pablo. We learned so much about the history of Guatemala, it's culture and geography while touring the city with Juan and our driver Roberto, who seemed to have supernatural driving abilities. . I highly recommend the tour if you enjoy history.

          Disappointed, disappeared
We booked this tour so we could see a wide swatch of Guatemala City on our last day of vacation. But the tour did not show up and we waited around for 45 minutes, wondering where they were. They had confirmed via email an hour ahead. When we finally reached them they offered us a tour the next day, which of course did not work. Terrible customer service. Very disappointed.

Panoramic Antigua tour from the cruise
On December 13, 2023 our cruise Celebrity Eclipse arrived to Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala. My wife and I purchased Panoramic Antigua tour. Cruise ship arrived to the port at 9:30 am and at 10:30 am we came down to the busses. To our surprise we found three buses numbered 34 and all passengers had stickers numbered 34 as well. It immediately created confusion and I tried to figure out how they going to navigate the crowd of about 120 people when we eventually will reach the Antiqua - Capital of Guatemala. On the about two hour very busy road to Antiqua we observed frequent eruptions from two active volcanoes and passed village abandoned due to the devastation of prior big eruption. Otherwise, all you will see is a good display of many varieties agricultural products growing in this area. Our guide did his best to keep us interested by taking mostly about agricultural exports and the economy of the country. On the first stop we were unloaded to the small entry of the jade museum. It would be a good informative stop, but not with about four buses with 40 passengers each and the most tourists running to the restrooms at same time. Do not do it. Wait about 10-15 minutes and lines will dissipate. Since we had about 35 to 40 min overall for the visit minus the restroom stop and about 15 min jade lecture, not much time is left to explore the museum/store and run back to find your group with all three groups tagged with same number 34. Eventually we were directed to small busses with about 15 people capacity. Here we come. Tourists from larger busses should settle in small busses with their travelers from the big bus, but it all get mixed up between same group with #34 tags. Very comical and at sad view at same time when many elderly and some overweight people tried to squeeze in and out of the small busses seating and tried to locate the proper bus. Small busses transported us to the center of Antiqua for about 40 min sightseeing. Same variety of souvenirs were sold on the plaza, but I was looking for a shot glasses as I collecting over the many years of travel. Apparently, there is a very large selection of souvenirs selling mall with narrow entrance not really visible from outside. Guides were not providing this information so most tourists were purchasing souvenirs from the street sellers. So, to finalize - this is not the trip to consider for people with limited ability. Good Travels

          Great Tour!
My mom, daughter, and myself took this tour. Evelyn was so sweet and kind to our family. She took us around the city and answered all of our questions. We had a good time. I would recommend this tour to others, especially if traveling with children.

          Antigua Guatemala Tour
Amazing! JP was the best guide ever! He is kind, knowledgeable, patient and very friendly, always with a smile! My cousin and I didn't have the time to do the Guatemala City part of the tour, but we were delighted by the Antigua Guatemala part of it and couldn't have asked for a better guide! The other 2 couples with us were also a joy to be with, but that was just a strike of luck!!! :) Antigua is beautiful, JP's explanations were great, the local food was delish and the handcraft market has great souveniers. Book this tour, you'll be in great hands!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! They will cancel last minute on you!
Horrible experience! I booked my tour with them for Sunday. I landed Saturday afternoon and was set for Sunday. I emailed them my confirmation location and phone number per their request on their policy. I had the hotel call for me, but the phone went straight to voicemail. I left a text message for them, but No one got back to me. I assumed they would just pick me up Sunday 6:30am. I get a cancellation at 10:01pm on Saturday that they were canceling on me. 8hrs and 29 minutes before the tour. They didn’t even call or email me why they canceled. I could have booked other tours, if I had know that they were going to cancel on me. Now it is too late and I cannot go to the chichicastenango market because they are only opened Sunday and Thursday. I leave Wednesday. I wasted my time with this company. Do not book them!

Nice Time Out of the Hotel
Very nice. It was good to get around the city and learn the history. My son’s favorite part was the flea market. The van was cozy and clean.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed what I saw and what I learned. I wish I had more people with me because I didn’t know what questions to ask because I know I could have learned so much. Overall really good and you get to see a few zones and important plazas.

Great trip and a great workout for the legs. The restaurant for lunch was good and there was more food and drink for purchase inside the park than expected.

          Wonderful experience!
I am so glad I booked this tour! We would not have been able to see that number of important sights in that amount of time on our own. Our guide was knowledgeable on the history of the city and able to answer many of my questions. He was pleasant and enthusiastic about the tour. We were promptly picked up at the hotel and safely delivered back there. The driver was also amazing. I highly recommend it!

          Awesome Eruptions with City Tour!!
This was a very good tour. Juan Pablo was a very informative and entertaining guide. Bus was very comfortable with AC. Tour is a bit rushed, due to group of 20 needing to be “herded” like lost cats. Lunch stop was incredible all food provided was delicious, especially the hand made tortillas. Ride to Antigua is really 80-90min long, but travel scenery was good (Volcanos, with one erupting!!)

          great day in Antigua!
Comfortable bus ride with excellent information about the land and culture followed by an interesting tour that gave us a good view of Antigua and a delicious lunch before heading back to catch our ship in plenty of time. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience with one or two hiches
Communication could have been improved and there were some organizational road bumps, but eventually all the bookings came through! The accommodations were lovely, but the guide was superb! Shoutout to Adolfo - he was so wonderful and struck a great balance between history, fun, culture, shopping. Plus, the ease of transport was great - I can't imagine that we would have seen as much without a guide who could navigate the markets and show us the best scenic views.

Very good experience! Highly recommend the horses unless you are a frequent hiker in great shape. The guys at the bottom for horses tried to double charge us so we had to walk down which kinda sucked (nothing to do with this tour). Guide who walked with us up the volcano was the BEST! I wore the worst running shoes with no grip and almost plunged to my death a few times LOL. He held my hand the ENTIRE TIME! We walked back slowly and talked the whole entire time, he didn’t even mind that the group was way ahead. Thank you so much to the guide!!! As for the hotsprings, they were very relaxing. Unfortunately I think they forgot about us at the hotsprings and we were there for like 4hrs and it was pretty late by the time we got back, like 7pm. For everyone saying it’s not actual lava, no it’s not because it erupted so long ago. But it’s still crazy to roast marshmallows from a volcano!

I was so upset that we didn’t get to roast the marshmallows. I came on this hike specifically to roast marshmallows and eat pizza from the lava rocks. It wasn’t until we came to the fork in the pathway that we were told we had to make a choice. I was literally so shocked that this was even a thing. I was out voted so we went the opposite way of the marshmallows and then we’re told we couldn’t do both so it was a done deal. Then the horses and the men with the horses are entirely too close the entire way up asking every couple of minutes if you want a taxi. Ot was too much. The guide should have a talk and explain the hike in the beginning instead of starting right up especially when it immediately begins with the cobblestone going straight up.

This was a great way to relieve our designated driver for a day and so glad we opted for this tour. A lovely little hike to see Pacaya Volcano close-up, we were the first party to ascend that day and glimpsed some lava. The views from the top were well worth it and taking El Arenal route on the descent was an adventure. After the hike, the Kawilal Spa was just the ticket! We even had the whole area to ourselves due to the pandemic, so all felt very safe. The smoothie and lunch there were also very delicious. Could have done with a tad more direction at times, but all part of the fun!

I have been a bit busy since I got back from Guatemala but as they say"better late than never" my vacation was Aug 12th - Aug 22nd, 2018 and it was fabulous we stayed in Hotel Tikal Futura that is another review. My travel agenda was setup by me after reading an enormous amount of review on TripAdvisor which I recommend if anyone is going to Guatemala.

A must DO excursion the hike up Volcan de Pacaya.......wow it was amazing. We rented horse to go up and come down it was fair price however I probably would only take it up not coming down. I will give two reason for men "it plays a mean beat in your lower area" wink wink.... plus it is easier walking down a clear path.

A few suggestions: wear thick sole sneakers, take a fleece or something that will cover you if you are one who easily gets chilly, if you are use to altitude 7000-8000 ft pace yourself you will need it (take horse up for sure) and do the earliest tour.

The tour guide was fabulous the horse handler was funny, helpful and could comprehend what I was saying. So, if you want an EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE take the tour of the Volcan de Pacaya.

Bring camera if not you end up without pictures like me.... geez....LOL

While in Guatemala for a mission trip one of our free days we decided to climb Pacaya. At the bottom we were approached by children selling walking sticks for 5 quetzales which you want to have for the climb down. You'll thank me after. However you might get hustled into giving your stick back to children at the end so they can resale.
Also at the bottom are horses which they call taxi. I paid 200 quetzales (27 USD) for a taxi which I didn't care because I knew that I wouldn't have been able to made it all the way up by myself.
The views were amazing. We were able to stop to roast marshmallows and also found a litter of volcano puppies. Don't worry mom was near. I believe the best part was heading down the Volcano. I felt like I was skiing down volcanic ash. Boots full of rocks that had to get emptied twice.

This was an excellent trip in every respect. It started with the customer service of the company. I only found the trip on the web, after hours on a Saturday. I wanted to join a tour on Sunday, but the website was already not accepting reservations that close to time of departure. I called the local number, and the woman who answered told me there was space, and kindly suggested that I book the tour and pay online with a Monday reservation, but assured me that they would accept the reservation for Sunday (now about 10 hours from the time of my call).

The driver was courteous and picked me up at the appointed time. He had my name and verified it was me. Safe driving all the way.

The local guide Lydia was a blast, and did a great job of telling us about interesting plants along the way, as well as information about the volcano. Pacaya was fascinating, got some great photos and video of lava flowing, and roasted a marshmallow in a hole in the ground using geothermal (volcanic) heat.

Do know that the hike is strenuous if you aren't acclimated to altitude and in reasonably good shape. You'll be working to get your breath on the way up and pounding your knees on the way down. But fear not, if you need assistance, there are guys who follow your party leading horses, and for an additional Q200 charge (a little over $26) they'll give you a lift. I didn't need it, but the other two in my party did.

I wasn't all that excited about the spa, to be honest. I went along because it was part of the package. I was wrong. The "thermal circuit" was just what the doctor ordered after that strenuous hike I just described! The hotel and spa are beautifully designed, and while the downstairs pools were a chaos of families splashing and yelling, the thermal pools are upstairs in a very-peaceful, adults-only section.

Bottom line … this tour is worth every dime I paid for it … strong recommendation!

The tour included a pick up from the hotel in the Moro! After several attempts to reach out to the tour operator the day before the tour I was told my hotel was not within the pick up zone and I had to walk 5 mins to another hotel to be picked up! Please keep in mind I was told pick up is at 6.30 am so it is still dark in Guatemala City! The city is not safe so the tour operator put me in danger by having me walk to a different hotel!!! Once I was there on time the driver was 30 mins late with no other explanation than to much traffic! There is traffic every morning so the tour company should plan for it! Once picked up, the driver drove passed by the hotel I was actually staying at! So the excuse that the hotel is far away is a complete joke! I wouldn’t boom with them again although the rest of the tour was fine! The company policy needs to be changed since this is clearly not the tour guides fault! You can’t expect to have your customers walk the other dark in a city not considered as safe and than actually pass their hotel anyway!!

Dear Christiana Thank you for having booked with us, our pick up points are in hotels and in the central hotels, we were not able to pick up you in your apartment since the address you sent to us was out of the hotels zone. The traffic is something out of our control, but the customer representative always was in contact with you.

The most difficult, rewarding and beautiful tour by a spectacular tour company! Wow. Just do it! Don't take the horse taxis on the way up, your ego will thank you. Our local guide was spectacular- he stopped at just the right intervals when our hearts and legs were screaming from being stretched. The driver was super helpful and courteous. Pacaya Volcano is one of the three active volcanoes of the 37 in Guatemala. It was a clear day so we saw Mexico, the Pacific Coast and Belize.

I went as a solo traveler. This was a great excursion. View was amaze. Felt safe. Spa was awesome. Once at the base of the volcano I was bombarded by locals wanting me to choose to use their horse. It was a bit overwhelming as the guide didn’t do much to discourage. The guide was knowledgeable. The trip is steep up the volcano and I was glad for the horse. The spa was wonderful. The circuit of thermal pools was delightful.

This excursion was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed God’s masterpiece (Pacaya). The hot springs was much needed after the hike.
