This tour and trip was worth every penny. Kerim answered all of my pre-purchase and prearrival questions via WhatsApp; Boy did I have fifty million questions. Initially, I was extremely hesitant, because of information read, seen and heard in videos via the internet. However, it made no sense to travel solo to Honduras and stay at a hotel all day, because of fear.

My flight was delayed and I arrived after 1 AM to San Pedro Sula. Kerim was there waiting for me as I walked out of the terminal. I arrived safely to my hotel and Kerim suggested that we push the start time back by one hour to 6 AM. His tour traditionally starts with a 5AM, with a pick-up from your hotel. First, we stopped at for breakfast at Welchez Cafe in Santa Isabel. This location was picture perfect. I selected the Plato Tipico and Latte Carmel Macchiato for breakfast. The refried beans were delicious and the best I had while in Honduras. After breakfast we headed to Copan Ruinas for my Mayan Ruins tour. My private tour guide, Kerim arranged this, was Cesar, which was extra and he spoke perfect English. Cesar was very knowledgeable. We spent so much time in Copan Ruinas. I was able to shop and purchase souvenirs with local merchants. Make sure you are willing to negotiate prices. I traveled during COVID and was unwilling to negotiate, being aware that a lot of people have been negatively impacted by the lack of tourism throughout the world. We even stopped by San RaFael, where I met the Best Barista in Honduras for two years straight, 2019 and 2020. While at San Rafael I tasted a delicious tiramisu, coffee, and bottled water. The water was the best water I ever had in my entire life or I was very thirst. Even walked the streets of the local town center in Copan Ruinas where I purchased Lichas from a local vendor. If you have ever tasted Lichas they are the best and often called Rambutans in other countries. I spent so much time in Copan Ruinas we had to begin our journey back to San Pedro Sula slightly before night. We missed lunched and we both had dinner at a gas station. Where I had a Baleadas, Zambos Picositas con Chile , limon y sal with a del Valle Mango. This was one of the best meals I had my whole trip. Plus, I didn't even get sick. I told him I would eat at the hotel and he insisted that was not a good idea. I am thankful I followed his lead. It was an excellent choice. Disappointed that I did not eat at his lunch recommendation, I know I missed out on another delicious meal within Honduras.

Kerim is so knowledgeable about his beautiful country. He is a great asset to the hospitality and tourism industry within Honduras. Trip and tour was worth every penny I paid. I ate at the best places to dine while in Honduras without fear of getting sick. He also picked great places to stop so I could use the bathroom. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience that very few people have when they visit Honduras, because few stay on the mainland and are willing to drive in a car with a stranger for 3.5 hours. I am glad I paid for this experience. Kerim even assured me that he is one of the few tour guides recommended by the US Embassy in Tegucigalpa. If you have any fears contact them for additional recommendations. Thank you Kerim! You made my time in mainland Honduras unforgettable. I will definitely tell everyone how hospitable you were and how safe I felt.

COVID-19: Kerim and I both wore mask majority of the trip and/or traveled with the windows down for air to circulate through the vehicle. He had hand sanitizer available and I brought my own. I left my disinfectant wipes in America by accident. My COVID test to return to the United States was negative, which lets me know we both used the proper precautions.

We loved our tour & the knowledge our tour guide shared with us. Along with the history, he added a lot of folklore that was somewhat embellished, but was very entertaining.

The restoration is underway as is the tremendous amount of research being done by archeological teams from other countries. The tours will just keep getting better.

Highly recommend.

This was a great experience. Kerim was really nice and polite and helped me find all the experiences and items i was looking for. He is also extremely patient (i like shopping and took a bit browsing around). He was extremely knowledgeable and flexible to my schedule and needs. It would have been impossible for me to have this type of experience without him. I highly recommend you will not be disappointed. I plan on comming back once i have more free time and going all over the place with him. It really is one of those things that once you experience it anything else is just not up to par.

I had a fantastic tour from Kerrim! Firstly, his English was really good! Secondly, I could immediately tell that he was knowledgeable about every aspect of Honduras and passionate about sharing his culture with me! Thirdly, he was really flexible with the trip so you could do whatever you wanted. For instance, we went into Guatemala for an hour before the ruins.

The ruins were so fascinating. Kerrim can also provide a local guide from Copan who is very informative about the site. I would highly recommend getting a guide for the ruins!

Also, the restaurants Kerrim takes you to seem authentic and delicious!!

Overall, if you want a tour guide who is genuine and enthusiastic about Honduran culture, definitely contact Kerrim!

We definitely spent a very special day, full of emotions, we crossed the border with Guatemala, that way you visited two countries on the same day. We enjoyed the flavors of the delicious local cuisine. Thank you very much for visiting my little country, and appreciating how little or much we could offer you.

Kerim did an exceptional job, picking me up late at the airport, promptly showing up in the morning and giving me a perfect trip to the Copan ruins and dropping me off at the airport after a free night time tour of San Pedro Sula. Not just a great guide, but a warm and friendly person and a pleasure to work with. I hope to visit again for a longer trip. Zero problems - everything went like clockwork.

Highlights:

1. Kerim, the guide, is knowledgeable about the ruins themselves but is also knowledgeable about Honduras & the wider region and seems to really understand what makes a great, and flexible, tour. It was a privilege to be able to spend the day in such great company, I learnt a lot about Honduras as a country, recent history as well as the more ancient history to be found in the ruins themselves.

2. The ruins themselves were fantastic. It's not a huge site but it contains a lot of detail.. and tunnels! You can actually go down and walk inbetween pyramids which have been built on top of one another - a very special experience!

3. The town of "Copan Ruinas" is surprisingly quaint, it is a colonial-style old town with great coffee shops and restuarants (which no doubt Kerim can show you!).

If you're looking here and have more than a day free (as I did) I would recommend contacting Kerim through his website Icatracho.com (Which I didn't do but regret!) as he may be able to offer you a longer tour to see more of Honduras in the time you have.

Couldn't recommend enough, the tour has made me think of coming back soon for tourism and Kerim will be the first person I call if when do!

My wife and I had an amazing time with Kerim during our stay. He was on time with everything, knowledgeable, and courteous. He picked us up from airport and dropped off hotel. The next day we took a drive out to Copan to see the Mayan ruins. During the trip we decided to skip out on the tunnels and bird park to see the Hot Springs (another hour trip). He was very receptive to this idea and planned everything out for us given the last minute audible. I enjoyed the Hot Springs and recommend it although it makes for a LONG day of travel there and back to San Pedro Sula.

Kerim took excellent care of us and loved his passion about what he does and about his Honduran culture. We strongly recommend anyone traveling to Honduras to use his services. We would use him again for our next Honduras trip.

I had a great time, had an opportunity not only to see Copan but much of the country. Starting in San Pedro Sula we drove for several hours to Copan. I came to appreciate what a beautiful country Honduras is. The people are very gracious and welcoming. My guide(Kerim Perdomo) was top notch, friendly and knowledgeable.
