Combine nostalgia with unbeatable aerial views on a vintage biplane flight over Kauai. Feel the excitement of an open cockpit as you soar over the Garden Isle’s stunning geography, from the sandy beaches of Poipu and the red ravines of the Waimea Canyon to the jagged Na Pali Coast and Mt. Waialeale’s lush crater.
What to Expect
Meet your pilot at the Lihue Airport and get a safety briefing before gearing up with a vintage-style cloth helmet and goggles and settling into the open cockpit. You'll also wear a two-way radio to communicate with the pilot and hear live narration throughout the flight. After takeoff, head north over the Wailua River, Kapa’a Town, and the Anahola mountain range, soaring over the Kilauea Lighthouse at Kauai’s northernmost point.

A highlight of the flight is flying above the waterfall-laced crater of Mt. Waialeale, the wettest spot on Earth. You’ll also see Wailua and Opaeka’a Falls before turning towards the beaches of Poipu on the island’s sunny south shore. Get a glimpse of Hawaii's largest coffee plantation and the Hanapepe Valley, and then take a dramatic U-turn inside the rust-colored ravines of the Waimea Canyon.

Hear native legends of the jagged Na Pali Coast while cruising above towering spires and secluded beaches, and see a popular Hollywood filming location at the Honopu'u Arches. Admire the waterfall of Hanakapi'ai Valley and serene Ke'e beach before the 70-minute flight touches down back at the Lihue Airport.

Best aerial tour of Kauai - outstanding in every respect!

Ditch the helicopters and go for adventure! The 2017 WACO bi-plane (built in Battle Creek, MI) is by far the most amazing way to appreciate the beauty of Kauai from the air. Pilot Harry provides informative narration as you climb out of Lihue airport and...More

We did go in the morning but I think their advice is what counts and they are very informative and responsive to questions. We didn't find any issues at all with wind/chop and had an amazing experience.

The struts definitely interfere with picture taking. For good pictures I'd suggest another flight, possibly helicopter with open doors, or one of this vendors fixed wing flights and request to sit in the right hand seat.
