Get a unique view of Kauai on this guided kayak adventure to Hidden Valley Falls. Paddle along the Hule’ia River while taking in views of the Haupu Mountains, then follow a forest trail to a waterfall. Cool off with a refreshing dip in a swimming hole while listening to stories about the history and legends of the area. Get picked up by a motorized canoe and relax on the return trip.
What to Expect
At the pre-arranged time and location, meet your guide and group—coming prepared with swimwear, insect repellant, sunscreen, and suitable footwear is highly recommended.

After being outfitted with safety equipment and selecting your deluxe two-person kayak, it's time to push off and explore the Hule'ia National Wildlife Refuge. Paddle past the the Alekoko (Menehune) Fishpond, an archaeological site that shows ancient aquaculture methods, and soak up the views of the Haupu Mountain Range.

Pull your kayak up to the shore then head out for an invigorating 1.5-mile (2.4-kilometer) hike through pristine rainforest. Splash around in the pool-drop waterfalls of Hidden Falls and listen as your guide recounts local legends about the area. Enjoy some well-earned snacks and soft drinks while soaking up your lush surroundings before heading back down to the river for a return trip in a motor-powered canoe.

Bid your group farewell as your tour concludes back at original departure point.

We had a lot of fun kayaking (2 miles each way) and hiking about 1.5 miles in to a waterfall and back out. It was muddy, wear good shoes and plan on them getting dirty. It was wet, I was glad I had a jacket,...More

Our Guide was a Legend!!

This was a great tour. Our guide, Keith, was a legend. A tree had blocked the landing site and was threatening to end our tour before the hike to the waterfall even started. Out he jumps with his trusty knife to literally carve his way...More

Such a fun day! We were shuttled to the river where the kayaks were waiting. Our guide Rachel was informative and personable and was assisted by another great guide (sadly I can't remember his name). They gave us waterproof bags to hold our things along...More
