Overview
Discover Ho Chi Minh City’s remarkable street food and cuisine on a 3-hour private food tour that explores colorful markets, hidden gourmet hotspots, and distinctive Saigon flavors. With a local guide to help you find the city’s best bites, you’ll taste everything from freshly-squeezed cane juice to bánh beo, steamed rice flour cakes, spotting some classic landmarks along the way. This 3-hour private food tour includes all tastings, and both morning and afternoon departures are available.
What to Expect
Make your way to Ben Thanh Market, where you'll meet a guide and start exploring the local goodies that surround the bustling shopping area, among the oldest surviving markets in the world. Start big with a combo plate of steamed flour rice cakes with dried shrimp, or bánh bèo, along with bánh bột lọc, a shrimp and pork tapioca cake.

Throughout the whole trip, the guide will show you a number of city highlights and hidden gems, and you'll learn the story behind each place you pass. The next stop is at a small family business that makes delicious banh mi hong hoa, a Vietnamese sandwich with a French colonial history.

Afterwards, enjoy a sugar cane drink with a hint of lime and jump on a "grabtaxi" to Turtle Lake, a favorite hangout for young locals. Soak up the  atmosphere and taste a traditional mixed rice paper dish, then try a green papaya salad combined with marinated beef and sweet and sour sauce.

The next tasting is bánh xèo, or sizzling crepe filled with sliced pork, whole shrimp and bean sprouts, perfect with a glass of locally-brewed Saigon beer. Follow up the bánh xèo with a sweet treat, chè, a dessert made from fruit layers and sweet coconut cream, then finish the tour with a Ho Chi Minh City-style coffee break. This tour concludes at the original departure point.
