Overview
The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek are two of the most important sites related to the Khmer Rouge. On this tour, gain a greater understanding of Cambodia’s tragic past by visiting both sites. A small-group size means extra attention from your guide. You’ll enjoy lunch at an NGO-run restaurant, experience traditional life on Mekong Island, and take a sunset cruise of Tonle Bassac.

What to Expect
After pickup from Phnom Penh hotel, you’ll travel by car or minivan to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Take a guided tour of the museum and uncover the shocking history of the Khmer Rouge regime as you walk around the former Security Prison 21 (S-21). Continue to the moving Choeung Ek Memorial and listen as your guide explains why the area is known as the “Killing Fields.” Enjoy lunch at an NGO-run restaurant, which serves as a training restaurant for young workers and funnels its profits back into community projects. In the afternoon, you'll head to the Japanese Friendship Bridge, where you’ll board a ferry for Mekong Island. On the island, enjoy a glimpse of everyday life as you explore the rural villages, floating fish farms, and silk-weaving workshops. At dusk, set sail across Tonle Bassac for a sunset cruise, then end your tour with a hotel drop-off.

I have to admit that the tour of the killing field and the prison was at times overwhelmingly distressing to experience. I had to walk away from our fantastic guide a few times because I could not bear to hear or see one more example of man's inhumanity to man. The atrocities

Killing fields and the genocide prison are both incredible places which you should definitely do - but it would be better on your own with an audio guide. I could have spend the whole day in those 2 places. The tour guide knows her stuff, tells you about each place but other

Hi Chris, Thank you very much for your time in giving us the instruction feedback. It is very important for us and we are surprised that our local guide did not talk and did a good explanation for you. We will work out in this case. However, let give us explain some cases that we did not visit the Royal Palace. On the day tour, in the Royal Palace had the funeral of King's Sister how this place open to the public? Another thing, the tour itinerary does not say that this tour visits Royal Palace that is we can not do a refund for you. We also did another tour at the Silk Island and Sunset cruising which finished at the sunset time. As you know this tour is a join-in tour so sometimes, it is not perfect because sometimes other customers do not come on time. Totally, we are sorry that our service does not meet your expectations and we will learn from your feedback to ensure that our future services are perfect. Kind regards, Sopherth

Neang is the most informative tour guide I’ve had the pleasure of being accompanied by. The sites we visited opened my eyes to the rich and tragic history of Cambodia. The tour is worth every dollar I paid for. I highly recommend it to everyone.
