Daniel was wonderful in every way. He arranged the tour at short notice on the same day and met us in his car at the bus station in Bethlehem to take us around the town, to Aida refugee camp, and to Banksy's Walled Off hotel.
He has a Master's degree in Peace and Conflict studies and his education as well as his lived experience really comes through in the tour. He presents a genuine, powerful account of life under Occupation and is so open to questions. I wish we could have done a longer tour with him to Hebron and also other places.
I wholeheartedly recommend this tour with Daniel. His insightful and informative guiding is something that will stay with us both.

Dani has a degree in Peace negotiations and Geo-politics in the Region, among many other hats he wears. If you are looking for understanding, from a Palestinian perspective, this tour is for you. It is not an easy subject, but necessary. He is a spectacular guide, we have toured 20 countries in Europe in the last year and have not found a better guide than Dani. He is compassionate, understanding, brilliant and answered all of our questions (no matter how simple) with grace. I will be contemplating this tour for some time, while I read his book recommendations. As we were in the midst of the Christmas season he sang with us and we ate the best falafel in town together also. We have children 9, 11 and 14 and this subject matter pushes the limit of what 9 year old can process. I cannot imagine trying to understand Bethlehem without Dani. We are forever grateful to him.

We booked a Bethlehem tour with Dani this week after reading his tour reviews. Communication beforehand was very good and arranged to meet in Bethlehem. We caught no 231 bus from Damascus Gate bus station and got off on the Hebron Road, with a short walk to the meeting point.
Dani showed us around Shepherd’s’ Field, Refugee Camp, The Wall and Walled Off Hotel and Banksy’s Art (very interesting as we are from Bristol). Dani talked about the history, people of the area and what it is like living and working in the West Bank. The tour exceeded all of our expectations. Dani also ensured we got on the right bus back to Jerusalem. The tour was educational and an eye-opener to life in Palestine. Dani was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and sang to us in the church at Shepherds Fields. Beautiful voice. We highly recommend the tour if you want to get to the heart of life in Bethlehem and the sights. Thank you Dani for being an amazing host and guide.

I took two tours with Dani, to Nablus and Hebron, and I absolutely loved them. Dani is an excellent tour guide and gives detailed information about the culture, history and religion of the people. He is knowledgeable, honest, respectful and has a good sense of humour. I highly recommend taking a tour with Dani Alternative Tours.

My wife, daughter and I met Dani on a day it was cold and raining. We visited the walled off hotel and musuem, Migrant area, the Dead Sea, Jericho! An Amazing day! Thank you Dani!!
Dani encouraged us asking difficult questions on the most challenging of subjects.
A side note. If you are staying in Jerusalem, allow 1.5 hours to walk to the bus stop outside the Damascus gate and take the bus to Bethlehem. It sets the mood and is safe. You do go through a checkpoint going back which is why you Just can’t grab a taxi. Very interesting.

We arranged this tour last minute and so glad we did. Dani met us at the bus stop and took us around in his car. He explained about the history and politics and I learnt so much. We visited the shepherds fields and several banksy murals and the Walled off hotel. Dani let us take all the time we wanted there and then dropped us back at manger square explaining how to get back to the bus to return to Jerusalem. We had a great day and I would recommend you do this tour as it’s so much better in a small private group.

We had a very informative tour of Bethlehem. Unfortunately our trip clashed with Putin’s visit which put the town on lockdown but Dani went out of his way to ensure we still saw everything and get on the bus to Jerusalem. There is more to Bethlehem than the Church of the Nativity so be prepared, for a few hours you can observe difficulties first hand,

We had a two hour tour of Bethlehem, focused on a refugee camp, the separation wall, and the hidden hotel. Dani is a great guide, and taught us a lot about life in Bethlehem and the Palestinian narrative. He's also really friendly and a pleasure to chat to. If we'd had more time we would've done a longer tour.

We had a great time with Dani learning about life in the Palestinian territories as well as visiting the traditional Christian sites. Dani met us at the bus station and took us to Manger square and the Shepherds Fields where he shared information and a beautiful hymn. Then we changed gears and headed into a refugee camp and to the Walled Off Hotel and museum. It was enlightening and sobering. We just happened upon a children's festival parade and stopped to enjoy the festivities before concluding the tour. We were hesitant at first to make our way to Bethlehem on the public bus alone, but everything went smoothly and there was nothing to worry about. We felt safe and comfortable while with Dani and we really enjoyed our day. He customized the days' events according to our interests and we left with a new found friend. We would happily recommend this tour.

Bethlehem of course has a long and rich and often difficult history - both ancient and recent. But without Dani, our incredible tour guide, we would only flitted across the surface. Thanks to his help, expertise, his patience and love of this land we were able to see and experience so very much more. Highly recommended!

The meeting place in the House of Peace Hostel in Bethlehem. You can take the blue bus number 231 and if you have a local number I can pick you up from the last place the bus leaves you.
