Highlights
  • Discover the Old City by exploring Holy Land attractions with a guide
  • Enjoy panoramic views from the Mount of Olives
  • See the Western Wall and the site of Jesus' crucifixion
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off available from central locations
What to expect
  • This half-day tour begins with a Jerusalem hotel pickup in an air-conditioned coach. Kick off your sightseeing at the Mount of Olives for a scenic overview of the entire city of Jerusalem. This mountain ridge is east of the Old City of Jerusalem and named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes. According to the gospels, a number of important events in the life of Jesus took place here, including where he ascended into heaven. The Mount has been a site of Christian worship since ancient times and continues to be a place of pilgrimage for Eastern Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant believers. From atop the mount, there is also a view of arguably Jerusalem's most recognizable landmark: the Dome of the Rock, a shrine located on the Temple Mount and one of the oldest works of Islamic architecture. The tour then passes through the Garden of Gethsemane, at the foot of the Mount of Olives, known as the place where Jesus prayed, and also where his disciples slept, the night before his crucifixion. Then it’s off to the Walls of Jerusalem that surround the Old City. The walls were built in the 1530s, when Jerusalem was part of the Ottoman Empire, to protect its borders from intruders. Further along through the Armenian Quarter, visit the famous Western Wall, the holiest of Jewish sites, then to the Christian Quarter along the Via Dolorosa, the street that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion. Here, look for the 14 stations of the cross while retracing Jesus’ steps to the Hill of Calvary, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The tour concludes at the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, where the coach awaits for a return trip to Jerusalem hotels.

YOAV MALACHI Jerusalem Tour
Sep 2019 • Solo
My husband and I very much enjoyed the Old City of Jerusalem's tour led by Yoav.
We visited some of the main holy Christian places and the wailing wall. There was a gift shop/restroom stop and lunch (not included in the half-day tour, but that we joined and paid for on the spot).
Yoav was knowledgeable and clear. He did not engage into in-depth explanations, but was respectful and he represented fairly the Christian faith when describing it in connection to the sites.
He used a few props which made it easier to retain some of the information.
The group was diverse, but Yoav, who referred to each one of us using our country of origin, made it fun for all of us. He was excellent in providing clear directions to where we were going and in giving instructions in the event we got lost. We would certainly try to book Yoav Malachi as guide for a future tour.

Thanks very much for this rave review of your tour and your guide Yoav.He sure deserves such praise and compliments for the great tour he manages with humor and in an entertaining manner. His informative commentary is obviously and tactfully woven into his desriptions, to suit all, at locations visited. The "family together" feeling is what is so important on a group tour, and when people from all over the world come together for the day.You have someone who takes care of you providing a safe and organised feeling. Look forward to seeing you again soon

Sights spectacular but guide disappointing
The sights that the tour covered were beautiful and moving, but unfortunately the guide detracted from the experience. It could have started better - they were late (and unapologetic). We paid more for this tour because it was advertised as smaller groups but we were around 25.
All that aside, the guide was unfortunately flippant and almost rude to some of the guests who asked questions. He actually answered on one occasion that he didn't know the answer to a question because he "wasn't there at the time that it was built". He showed us a map that he admitted was bad but that he hadn't had time to get a new one....
At the end of the half day, he brought us at a restaurant and suggested we eat there with the whole day tour and he would guide us out after lunch to the agreed upon ending point. When we said that we would rather try going out by ourselves and if he could just point the way, he claimed it was a maze and too complicated to give us directions. The man we bought water from in front of the restaurant had no trouble telling us to go straight, turn right and then right again - it was a 5 minute, super simple walk.
Going on a tour of the Dome of the Rock and the Western Wall is a great idea, just maybe not with this tour group.....

Bein Harim is regretful that this was the nature of your tour experience. We will have to investigate it fully. Kindly pass this to our customer service dept in an email, Such feeback is essentiall for us to hold all guides accountable, which we do, !The shabby map is not acceptable but his humor is... Obviously this is not the norm! kind of behaviour, as the 94 % 5 star reviews on this platform indicate. Our guides are 5 star standard! One can indeed get very easily lost in the the alleys of the Old City. Fact, especially not being familiar. That would be a standard answer, as he did offer to show you out, after the lunch . He was not being out of manner.but honest, maybe too much so,... Lunch is not mandatory but this is a group tour and shedule and the guide manages this accordingly.

Good tour let down by kickbacks
To start with, the tour itself is an excellent way to see the important sites. Our guide did a good job and we left feeling that once it started, the tour was very well organised and efficient.

The transfer from the hotel to the start of the tour took well over an hour when the starting point was 15 minutes from the hotel - waiting for so long in the heat could be difficult for those young or old.

What took the gloss off the tour was when we were taken to their favoured souvenir store. We were told repeatedly it was certified by the official tourist body, but it was odd to pay to be taken there and held up for some time. Kickbacks? In fairness, people do want to buy souvenirs, but it felt dodgy.

Similarly, we were herded in for lunch - which we had to pay for separately as it turned out, after which we were led back to the gate where the tour finished. We would have preferred to have had our own lunch if we had realised in time, they are clearly getting a cut from the restaurant too.

So overall the tour itself was good, but being taken to a rubbish buffet of their choosing and having to pay for it is ridiculous, particularly when it is literally the end of the tour.

Thank you for this honest account of your tour.We are happy our guide was professional and informative. Our pick up system in Jerusalem, has to suit all the tours that embark, and yes it takes time, there are delays.Over 24 years and we have yet to find a less time consuming, and economical pickup procedure to the satisfcation of all the travelers going on the various tours.Super complex logisitics.Cant have all the vehicles going around the town collecting passengers for just their own specific tour! We certaiinly donot have any store or restaurant affililiation as you harmfully hint at!!! . But we certainly do eat at a designated restaurant because we cannot let travelers wander off alone. Esp, the half day tour, you are free to depart when you wish, once the lunch stop begins normally close to 12.30 -1300. !100s of travelers eat there daily, they cater for groups, and the food served cannot be deemed rubbish!! Why would we risk our reputation for such??sorry.

Good overview of the old city
Apr 2019 • Business
Aside from the wait in the morning for the bus to show up to get our tour started the tour was a good overview of the old city. Sigal did a good job explaining the history mixed with some stories and anecdotes keeping it interesting and on pace. I would recommend for those with short time and an interest in a good overview.

We are happy to read this account of your satisfaction of the tour guided professionally by Sigal. Indeed there can sometimes be a wait for the tour embarkation, howecer hard we try to be prompt. But thanks for the mention,as we dont have any express way to collect travelers. Bein Harim appreciare your kind recommendation.

Jerusalem Walking Tour
Apr 2019 • Couples
We did a half day walking tour of Jerusalem with Itamar Buk as our guide. The tour itself was very interesting and we saw a lot of landmarks from 3 major religions. I also thought our guide added greatly to the experience. He was knowledgeable, friendly and very enthusiastic. I would recommend this tour on the beginning of your trip to Jerusalem.

Amazing Day Tour with Kobi
Jan 2019 • Solo
I booked the Jerusalem: Old and New Tour through Tourist Israel. Kobi was a fantastic guide, who was so passionate about teaching our group about Jerusalem.

We started the day at Mount Scorpus, then proceeded to tour the Old City, walked through all Four Quarters, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Western Wall. We had lunch in the Old City as well, and in the afternoon toured Yad Vashem - the World Holocaust Remembrance Center.

I cannot recommend this tour enough. It was an incredibly moving experience and well-organized. Thanks Kobi!
