Visit some of Jordan’s most spectacular places on a 2-day trip from Jerusalem to Jerash, Amman, and Petra, and spend an unforgettable night around a Bedouin campfire. This is a convenient, hassle-free way to cover some of the country’s main highlights on a quick trip from Israel, with logistics taken care of so you can focus ancient Roman architecture, Amman’s vibrant downtown, and the gorgeous rock-cut tombs of Petra.
What to Expect
Day 1: Jerusalem – Jerash, Amman, Petra (L, D)

Meet a driver in central Jerusalem, then cross the Jordan River Valley as you travel into northern Jordan, passing a 12-century Crusader castle along the way. The first stop is the ancient Roman city of Jerash, where you’ll find well-preserved streets, colonnades, mosaics, and theatres dating back thousands of years.

Next, head to Amman's bustling downtown to see Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic ruins set high above the city center. The day concludes at a Bedouin camp in Petra—or at a nearby 3-star hotel—with a Bedouin dinner served by a blazing fire.

Day 2: Petra – Jerusalem

Wake for a guided tour of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient Nabatean city, entering through the winding siq, a narrow slot canyon. Following a packed lunch in Petra, begin the return trip to Israel, where this tour concludes at the original departure point.

The tour was fairly well organized, but we were rushed through the sights so we could have 40 minute "rest stops" at wildly overpriced souvenir shops. The guide had a bunch of cutesy gimmicks, like having us walk single file with our eyes closed along...More

Do not hesitate and go!

The places we visited are amazing. Jars a well preserved Roman city, the Citadel in Aman, worth visiting because of its location in relation to the city and Petra, which quite frankly would like to visit longer. The tour guide on the Jordan side, Khaled,...More

2 days tour to Petra from Jerusalem

The tour was excellent and very well organized logistically. The chief selling feature for Abraham tours is that the group size is limited to 16 people. We don't like large groups and most of the other companies seem to assemble tourists from all over into...More

My husband and I did the 2 day/1 night tour from Jerusalem to Jerash, Amman, and Petra in Jordan. Everything was extremely well organized. We were informed in advance of what we would be doing and how long it would take. This information was especially...More

Realization of a dream!

I went solo on a recent 2-day tour of Petra and Jordan with Abraham Tours. Our Jordanian guide was Mahdi, and both he and our driver (whose name escapes me) were outstanding! (I read another review below from someone who described a nightmare border crossing...More

You can book up until the night before, but it could sell out for your date if you wait too long. The Abraham tours website shows how many seats are available for any given departure date. If you do book early, review the... More
