Overview
Discover Jerusalem’s Jewish, Islamic, and Christian sites on a walking tour that explores the city’s rich religious heritage, from the Dome of the Rock to Temple Mount and the Via Dolorosa. Experiencing Jerusalem through all three of the city’s major religions gives a fascinating perspective on thousands of years of history, spirituality, and sometimes conflict.
What to Expect
Meet a guide in the Old City and set out on foot towards Temple Mount, where the Dome of the Rock marks place where the Prophet Mohammed is believed to have ascended to heaven. Here, learn how the site is sacred in Judaism, as well, from the First Temple to the story of Abraham’s sacrifice.

Take in two other beautiful Islamic monuments—the Dome of the Chain and Al Aqsa Mosque—then continue to the Western Wall, an important pilgrimage place for Jews.

In the Christian quarter, follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, retracing the route that Jesus is believed to have walked on the way to the crucifixion site. Outside the ancient walls, head to Mount Zion, the 12-century Hall of the Last Supper, and the Tomb of King David, before finishing the tour in the heart of Jerusalem’s Old City.

Not to be missed

Although the old city of Jerusalem is compact, using a guide book alone could never do it justice. The streets meander and navigating the city can be a challenge. Anna was the group's guide. She certainly is quite passionate about the city and knows it...More
