About
Rather than haggling with cabs or deciphering bus timetables, visit three of Israel’s must-sees free from transport worries on this day trip from Jerusalem. Ride the cable car (own cost) to Masada’s plateau to roam its fortress, and then visit Ein Gedi (own cost) to follow its footpaths to pools and caves. Finally, head to a Dead Sea private beach to experience floating in its hypersaline waters before your return.

Highlights
  • Experience Masada, Ein Gedi, and the Dead Sea in a day from Jerusalem
  • Ideal if your time is short: visit three sights with no transport fuss
  • Ascend Masada by cable car (own cost) and tour the ruins independently
  • Hike in Ein Gedi (own cost) and float in the Dead Sea at a private beach
What to expect
  • Make your way to a centrally-located hotel in Jerusalem, where you meet a driver for the trip to Masada, a desert fortress with a history that dates back to Roman times. This is an independent tour so you can enjoy each destination at your own pace. At Masada, you have time to ascend the plateau by cable car (own expense), and tour the site's ancient palace walls, synagogue, stepped pool, and other excavations. Continue to Ein Gedi, a nature reserve an oasis where you can hike to a desert pool that supports lush vegetation in an otherwise arid landscape. Drive on to the Dead Sea, where you have access to a private beach (included in the tour), where you can float in the hypersaline water or try out the Dead Sea’s mineral-rich therapeutic mud. Then make the return trip to Jerusalem, where this tour concludes. In some circumstances, the order of sites visited may change in order to optimize the tour.

Exceptional!
Dec 2019
During the time we were in Israel, we took three tours with Tourist Israel because we found their website to be so useful for all the questions I had as a first time traveler to the area. All tours were exceptional! The experience of seeing the sunrise from Masada was breathtaking! Our tour guide pointed out animal life at Ein Gedi that we would have missed. We appreciated the information and stories the tour guide told us between sites.

Absolutely fantastic
Feb 2020
Anna was great tour guide. She was so informative and helpful during all time. She told us many stories and facts about the country, culture, nature.

We had this tour in a Shabbath day. If you have a limited time and you want to see highlights of the country, this is a perfect choise. It was probably the best tour i have ever had. Thank you Anna :)

Nature lover dream
Apr 2019
took the tour on my third trip to Israel. If you like the outdoors and hiking this is perfect, but all the stops have easy options for those who want to just take their time. this is not a guided tour, so you wont get to much information other than what is offered at each park (and they offer a lot) but that's OK if you're an adventurer like myself. Got picked up on time from Tel Aviv. the route was very beautiful. The drive didn't speak much English but enough for me to know where i was going and what time i had to be back to the bus. We stopped at two rest stops so the food options where pretty basic, lots of snack options. The views are awesome. I don't remember any stops for souvenirs expect at the Dead sea. Over all it was pretty decent experience.

A very worthwhile and interesting cultural tour
Mar 2020
My friend and I really enjoyed the tour with Ranoch. Though it was quite an early morning start it was definitely worth it! Ein Gedi was more beautiful than we imagined and lovely to walk/hike through (would be difficult for anyone not in shape or very mobile but still options to see waterfalls lower down). The Masada tour was very enlightening and a mesmerising cultural site, steeped in history. We had plenty of time at The Dead Sea to relax and have drinks, go in the sea (be careful, it’s very slippery getting in!) and chill at the beach. Definitely take food and snacks with you as there’s no designated lunch break and you might not be able to eat until The Dead Sea. Well worth the money!

Must Do!
Mar 2020
Jenny was the so knowledgeable, personable and fun! She was approachable with questions and was informative and witty. I was traveling with my friend and we both looked at each other on the ride back from Kalia Beach and said, "That was such an amazing day!" This is a must do tour! It gives you the taste of the desert and it felt like the right timing at each location. I love hiking, but could have gone with more time at the Ein Gedi Reserve and more time at the Dead Sea, but I'm easy going and enjoyed my time at each location. Huge bang for our buck after the Petra tour was no longer an option. Jenny was the BEST!!!!

Wonderful experience!
Mar 2020
We arrived right in the middle of the Corona Virus panic when flights and tourist attractions were being cancelled one day after another. Tourist-Israel was good to work with as we tried to find alternative plans from the two tours (Bethlehem and Petra) we had originally booked. Today, we toured Masada, Ein Gedi and The Dead Sea with Jenny as our guide. She was knowledgable, fun and made a great day out of what we thought might be a weak alternative to our original plans. Thanks Jenny! If you're coming to Israel, we absolutely recommend seeing Masada and the Dead Sea.

Hi cheslin333, thank you for your patience and understanding during this complicated time. We know it is frustrating for tourists who had planned to visit certain places that are now restricted, but as you said we are doing our best to help our customers adjust their plans and we are glad you had a great tour with Jenny! We hope you'll come again and be able to visit Petra and Bethlehem with us another time.

A Good Day Out!
Mar 2020
Booked this trip as a contrast to a walking tour in Jerusalem and a train trip up the coast to Acre...it worked!!!The dramatic vistas & atmosphere of the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea are unique...our Guide Honach provided an entertaining companion with informative explanations and humour, overcoming the lack of a working microphone on the coach. Both myself and my friend would have preferred more time at both Masada and Ein Gedi, though acknowledging that a good number of our fellow travellers were looking forward to a float in the Sea!

Hi ianrB9722FE, thank you for your review. We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed your tour with Hanoch. We are sorry you didn't get as much time as you wanted at Masada and Ein Gedi, but as you mentioned most customers want sufficient time to enjoy the Dead Sea, and it is a lot to fit into one day,, so we do our best to give sufficient time at all of the sites.

Good but extra fees (27€/person) should be included
Mar 2020 • Friends
Masada was interesting
Ein Gedi not worth it if you have been to a wadi/canyon or similar already
Fees to enter Ein Gedi and Masada should be included in final price
Guide was very enthusiastic and explanations were very detailed, although sometimes more structure and silence in the speech would be appreciated (hard to keep attention and discover places more freely); also avoid bringing politics or personal opinions

Hi racsoaloirra, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you felt Ein Gedi was disappointing and that the guide needed to provide more structure. We strive to provide the best experience and show the best places in Israel. We state clearly on the website that this tour does not include the entrance fees, and even with this we are able to ffer the best prices for our tours. We hope you enjoyed!

Great Tour!
Mar 2020 • Solo
I was a little worried because some of the previous reviews, so much so that I almost cancelled after ordering... Glad I didn't! Eli was a great guide with a lot of good information, stories, and some Dad jokes.

Because of the short time with multiple attractions, Masada, especially, seemed rushed, with little time to see anything that wasn't in the plan. That is a two-edged sword, as most people want to spend the bulk of the time at the Dead Sea.

Do be aware you have to pay for the attractions separately, in cash, so make sure you have it. Even with that, the Tour Israel is still the most inexpensive I could find, and well worth the money.

Hi PRAZ2020, thanks for your feedback. We are glad you decided to trust us and enjoyed the tour with Eli! As you said, we are still able to offer an amazing tour at an amazing price, even with the entrance fees, and we clearly state on our website and in the tour confirmation email exactly how much to bring in cash so that everyone comes prepared. We hope to see you again soon!
