Enlightening, left us confused (in a good way).
MY husband took this tour w our 8 year old daughter and it was exceptional. At first we were a little disappointed to learn we wouldn’t be going into some of the sites but soon realized it was WAY cooler getting the quick overview before going in yourself. It was completely shocking to learn the different perspectives and frankly left us as Americans feeling conflicted and as if we were never taught the entire story. Absolutely 100% MUST see with an open mind and heart. This was our first full day of the trip and it was a perfect start.

Mind opening experience
Feb 2020
This tour is not your usual experience of the Old City. The dual narrative experience was very mind opening and thought provoking. Plus, the tour wandered through back streets and rooftops that no other tour I am aware of includes in their tours. I highly recommend this tour.

More than interesting; really awesome!

The guides were great and the information they presented was nothing short of awesome. Very open and fielded questions to there fullest. Alex and Norm were the right guides for this tour. I am still thinking about what they presented. Found out how much I really don't know. Love hearing their perspective as ones who live here. Thanks very much!

Very informative
Very worthwhile. I learned a lot and would recommend to anyone wanting to understand more about what the issues are in the conflict.

Highly recommendable half-day tour of Jerusalem's Old City!
Dec 2019
Our two guides, Noor and Ross, were both extremely knowledgable and engaging. They demonstrate great respect and empathy for one another, despite having opposing political views, and do a great job modeling compassionate listening. The purpose of the dual-narrative model is to expose you to various narratives, rather than change your opinions. I left this tour with new a knowledge and appreciation for the history of the Old City and the peoples and cultures that are connected to it.

Mejdi Dual Narrative, Multi-Day Tour - Israel
Oct 2019
This was an amazing experience. The two guides were fantastic presenting two different perspectives in a region with a very complicated and complex history. We visited with a rabbi, Palestinian Christians, parents from the Parent's Circle, woman working together to help educate other women and had dinner in a Palestinian home complete with musicians playing for us after the meal. Seeing the tourist sights of Jerusalem was great, but the connections to people were the best, they helped get across the complexity, the tension, the angst of the people that live in this region. If you visit Israel, the dual narrative is the best way to learn about the country and its people.

Because people are important
Nov 2019
The thing about this area is that it's rife with conflict. People live here and deal with that conflict every day. As a visitor, I needed to listen to them and learn from their experiences, no matter what preconceived notions I had.

Our guides were funny, relaxed, knowledgable, and well-spoken. No question was off limits, and I think our group appreciated the opportunity to go beyond news headlines. With this tour, you get firsthand knowledge of how things are. After all, if the roles were reversed, you'd want to be able to share your story, too.

I came in knowing very little. I left Jerusalem knowing a lot more, even if it's a confusing mess. Thanks, guys, for being so open.

Also: if you're invited to get falafel after the tour, do it.

Mejdi Israel and Palestine "Dual Narrative" Tour
Oct 2019
We did an 11 day Mejdi Tour which I highly recommend. (I will look for a review of tour companies, not just Jerusalem next). The Dual Narrative nature made the trip 100x's more interesting, We visited all the highlights - Jerusalem, Masada, Dead Sea, Galilee, Tel Aviv, Ceasaria, Bethlehem, Nazareth, etc. But the guides were compelling, the speakers we met with were engaging and mostly the 16 members of the tour were what it made it special. It was self-selecting of course - only people interested in getting a dual narrative were on the tour - but everyone was friendly and informed. We loved every minute of the tour and would highly recommend it!

VERY INTERESTING TOUR WITH 2 ENGAGING AND RESPECTFUL GUIDES!
Nov 2019 • Family
My family and I were very pleased to learn more about the Old City of Jerusalem from two different points of view. Both guides were amusing, engaging and respectful to each other.
I highly recommend it!

Good tour if you have seen the Old City before.
Oct 2019
This tour delivers both sides of the conflict, as promised. And both tour guides were engaging and informative. I would only caution that is probably not good tour if you have never seen the Old City before. It is not so much a tour of thre Old City as it is a discussion of Israeli and Palestinian points of view that uses the Old City as a backdrop. You are hustled from point to point without a chance to really look at anything in between.

MEJDIDayTours
Many thanks for taking time to share a review! The tour is designed to be both introductory, for those who are visiting for the first time, but to also go beneath the surface into more sensitive issues regarding the current reality. Given this delicate balancing act, guides sometimes compromise on certain parts of the itinerary in exchange for others. We will continue to make every effort to meet the needs of all guests, so that people looking for an introductory Old City tour feel they were also able to do enough site-seeing.
