Overview
Visit Chaukhtatgyi Paya, Kandawgyi Park, and Shwedagon Pagoda on a half-day Yangon tour that explores Myanmar’s fascinating culture. You’ll explore some of Yangon’s highlights with a guide to help explain each site’s history and meaning. This tour also includes a stop at a Yangon teahouse for a cup of Myanmar-style tea or coffee. Groups are limited to 12 people to ensure personalized service, and entrance fees are included.
Highlights
  • On a Yangon culture tour, discover Myanmar’s Buddhist rituals
  • Learn from locals about life in Yangon
  • Includes tea or coffee in a Yangon teahouse
  • Convenient pickup and drop-off from a central location
What to Expect
Meet a guide in Yangon for the trip to Chaukhtatgyi Paya, whose massive and intricately decorated reclining Buddha is among the city’s most important religious sights; you may see monks from nearby monasteries leaving offerings. Next, walk through a local neighborhood to Kandawgyi Park, where you’ll enjoy views of Shwedagon Pagoda across Kandawgyi Lake. Pause for a refreshing tea or coffee in a local teahouse; this is a great time to discover the distinctive way that Myanmar’s people prepare these drinks. The final stop is the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, one of Myanmar’s undisputed highlights. There, you’ll learn about the role Buddhism plays in daily life, watch locals and monks offer devotions, and admire the shrines that surround the central golden dome. After visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda, the tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.
