Overview
Hong Kong was once a British colonial outpost and is now one of Asia’s brightest and most vibrant cities. Discover its unique history while getting a taste of local life on this one-of-a-kind guided walking tour, which gives an insider’s perspective on dynamic neighborhoods and under-the-radar attractions, such as the Victorian Prison Compound and the Fringe Club.
Highlights
  • A small-group walking tour through Hong Kong
  • Capped at only 12 people for a personalized experience
  • Get an insider's look at off-the-beaten-track local spots
  • Learn about the city's colonial past during fact-filled visits
What to Expect
Your tour begins at Possession Point, where the British landed to take control of the city in 1841. After listening to a brief history of colonial Hong Kong, the group, capped at 12 people, walks along the Sun Yat-Sen historical trail, which pays tribute to China’s founding father. Get an insider’s look at the popular Sheung Wan district, one of the first neighborhoods the British settled and now a vibrant food and shopping hub. Explore overlooked sights, such as the Victorian Prison Compound, Hong Kong’s first prison, and the oldest Anglican church in Asia. Your guide also introduces you to contemporary Hong Kong’s up-and-coming places, such as the Fringe Club, a forum for emerging artists. The walking tour concludes at the Wan Chai waterfront, where the city celebrated its transfer of sovereignty to China in 1997. Enjoy time exploring the waterside promenade on your own before heading back to your hotel.

Danny was a friendly and informative guide who knew his stuff. He gave us the history of Hong Kong and showed us places we wouldn't otherwise have seen. Tour lasted nearly 3.5 hours but their were breaks and time for a drink en route. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend! Great tour at a moderate pace. Lasts about four hours and includes 3-4 sitting stops where the tour guide, Danny, shares information about historical sites. Easy to meet-up on street level outside specific subway exit. The tour is generally 10am-2pm — bring
