The world's first Night Safari*, set in 40 hectares of secondary jungle, will unfold the mystery and drama of the tropical jungle after dusk with stunning effects. See a myriad of nocturnal animals, from fierce predators to timid forest dwellers, in their natural habitat under subtle moonglow lighting. With priority boarding, you won't have to wait in line to board the tram which takes you through the East and West Loop. Pass by a large reservoir and weave through selected habitats designed specifically to replicate the natural environment from the Himalayan Foothills to the Southeast Asian Rainforest and Indian Subcontinent. Let the guide take you on a walking trail to view some animals at close quarters. There will also be an opportunity to catch either the Thumbuakar performance of fire-eating skills OR a 20 minutes animal extravaganza at the Creatures of the Night Show, subject to weather conditions. You can choose to add on a buffet meal of local favourites and international cuisine in a charmingly rustic setting at Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant.

        Great overview
Great tour for seeing key sites of the city and learning about the history especially beneficial if done early in your trip.

        A disappointing experience
If you are thinking of going to Night Safari, just purchase tickets direct from the zoo and don't waste extra money on this Tour East tour. We were given (in writing) the wrong time to arrive and had to wait an hour and a quarter for the guide to arrive and admit us. The arrangements were very confused and essentially the 'tour' added very little value to the much cheaper straight Night Safari ticket that you can purchase direct.

Well worth trip. Very good driver and good guide. It is very nice that they pick up at a number of hotels as well as drop you off after the tour. This was a combination of bus tour and walking. He stopped at 4 different venues and had enough time to visit and get a flavor of the area/venue.

Natalie, our guide, was well informed, super cordial, kept group entertained and on time. We saw quite a bit of Singapore in a little over 3 hours. Great intro to a beautiful city.

        Recent Morning tour of Singapore
This tour was excellent. It gives you an overall knowledge about Singapore’s history and main sights.. Our tour leader, Nicholas, was enthusiastic, engaging, funny and organised. Thoroughly enjoyed this half a day tour of Singapore.

Choose an alternate way to do the Night Safari
Not really a tour as the guide only facilitated the experience. We did get the pick up from the hotel which was good but after that the guide just showed us where to go for buffet, where to get on team and where to go for evening show. Buffet food was poor. Evening show was well done with good information about the specific animals. Suggest you skip this tour, take a taxi to the safari park, ride the tram, enjoy the show and forego the buffet dinner for a less costly and better overall experience.

Great introductory tour. It Was not rushed and the stops were long enough. Guide was very good and kept us on schedule. Enough to tell us where to go explore later.

The gardens were beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through them, especially with all the Christmas display done inside and around all over the Flora.

        Disappointing tour
This was quite a disappointing experience. My pick up from hotel was on time, but then I was dropped off at another hotel where we waited for rest of the group, their pick up was running half an hour late. When we got to the zoo - we were late for the show so instead we had dinner first. Food was fabulous and after dinner our guide decided to take us to train / tram ride. The commentary on the ride was very good and we saw few animals ( elephants, rhino, hippo, hyenas and lions, bison and lots of deer. Ride was just over 20 minutes but when we disembarked and went to the show, we were late again and could not enter until next show - and our guide decided we could not wait for another show. Animal show was meant to be highlight- friends recommended this to me and was one of the main reasons I chose this activity. Instead we were told to go on the short trail exploring and to meet again in 20 minutes. If you can go to the night safari and organise this yourself - then it might be great night out. I would not recommend this tour. Quite expensive for a meal and 20 minute train / tram ride.

The gardens are fantastic but don’t bother with doing it via Trip Advisor, ticketing is a nightmare for easily to get a taxi and pay for the tickets when you arrive

First of all know that it’s north of Singapore and it takes about an hour but well-functioning transport is not really a problem.
The safari night attracts huge numbers of people and especially families so you will have to be patient and queue to eat as for the tram.
It’s disappointing yes we see animals but they must be shoots because none really moves and more fishy remains in its place. We believe in surprise but everything is organized.
Animals do not seem ill-treated and fed to their end but many questions still arise... Nothing is natural and therefore normal.
      Avoid displacement

The night was OK but no more. On reflection it was rather expensive for what we got. We were picked up at our hotel taken to the zoo for the 'night safari ' then taken back to our hotel. The zoo is well out of the centre so having organised travel was great. The night safari consists of 2 parts. 1 a 30 minute theme park type experience in an open air amphitheatre displaying some of the animals whose movements were dictated by where the treats to eat were located. The morales and philosophy of the zoo are good but this part came over as a bit staged and unnatural for the animals involved. You then move to a series of trams that drive through a set route that lasts about 30 minutes with a pre recorded narrative that was a bit naff in places. It did not feel very safari like and overall seemed too commercial.

The guide Paul Tan was nice, but he talked too fast, couldn’t understand what he was saying half the time.

As per the description we were supposed to have a guided walk after the tram, but that didn’t happen.

On the return back to our hotel, Paul left the bus after dropping a few people off the bus. He told the remaining guests (including my sister and I) the bus driver knows where to drop us off.
Well, the bus driver missed our stop at the Ritz-Carlton until we told him to stop. Not good.

I would like a partial refund for this trip

Hi Kathy, Thank you very much for your feedback regarding your tour at Night Safari. Usually after the tour the tour guide does not follow the group during send back as they need to do their report after the tour so they do not go until the last send back. Unfortunately, as you have already consumed the full tour including the send back we are unable to do a refund as this is a package tour. With best regards Fay

I kind of feel like I need to write two reviews for this experience. Let’s start with the tour unfortunately the tour was not what it all cracked up to be. To start with the coach that was supposed to pick me up for the tour didn’t turn up so after waiting for an hour and a half I called to find out what was going on thinking that maybe they were just running really late. Maybe the traffic was bad. The phone conversation I had they explained that the coach forgot to pick me up so they were going to organise someone to come and get me. This was all well and good however we were running extremely late at this point. Now this was my last night in Singapore and I really wanted to go so I agreed. The driver that came and picked me up was very friendly. However it was still a little bit nerve wracking knowing that I was now going to be travelling with an unknown person by myself. By the time I got to the night Safari it was really late which meant I actually missed most of the experiences at the Safari. I didn’t get to see any of the shows and there was no time to get to have a look around. The only thing I had time to do was to go on the tram which was part of the Safari which was actually incredible. When I spoke to the tour guide about the shows he said that I can’t go and suggested that I could go for a walk whilst I wait for everyone else. When I tried to explain to him that I had a disability that meant that I actually couldn’t just walk around and the main reason that I wanted to come to the night Safari was to one see the Safari but also see the shows his response continue to be just go for a walk It’s not that hard. The tour in general felt extremely rushed and I get that I got there late but that was not on me. On the way back the coach arrived at the first hotel to drop off they then made half the people get off the coach and get into different cars and then I was dropped off at some random street side. I was told that I needed to walk the rest of the way which again was not part of the Tour. The tour stated that you get picked up and dropped off at your hotel. Now there was an agreement about a different hotel as my hotel was not listed and that was completely fine because it was actually on the same street however this didn’t occur. It was really disappointing to know that anyone that I spoke to throughout this tour just kind of passed the blame onto someone else and didn’t actually take any accountability and didn’t even apologise which you know it wouldn’t have hurt for someone to just acknowledge the mistakes and just apologise. Like it really does ruin an experience when you left frustrated because it kind of takes away from the amazing experience that it could’ve been. Now in regards to the actual Night Safari I can imagine how If I’d seen it all it would’ve been absolutely incredible. In saying this I would actually recommend the night Safari by itself because being able to see all these animals from a tram experience seeing how they’re cared for and really looked after especially some that are so close to extinction is just amazing. I would say that I definitely would go to the night Safari again however I would probably look into a different tour option because having the transport is convenient because it’s not close to the city, however this actually became very inconvenient experience.

Waited an hour for the tour bus to show up. Arrived late and missed part of the show. Not enough time to walk around. Driver took us back to the wrong hotel!
The experience is worthwhile but advised to go as individuals not on a group tour!

Our guide, Paul, was amazing - he had a plan and sticking to it meant we skipped the queues and had plenty of time to see everything. My father in law is almost 90 and really appreciated being picked up at the hotel and dropped off afterwards. Everything went very smoothly and we saw some fabulous animals - don't miss out on the walk around the Fishing Cat area as the otters, pangolins and crocodiles are a treat to see (as well as the Fishing Cats.)

We were picked up from our hotel and taken to another hotel to wait for a pick up. We boarded a larger coach an it took about 40mins or so to get to the night safari. On arrival we were told we had 15 mins to visit the loo and or have snack. We boarded the tram. 4 in a row. It was difficult to see much in the dark although the elephants and lions were clear. The constant use of phones to take photographs was intrusive and detracted from the experience. The monsoon style rain did not help. Once the tram got back there was nothing to do as we were told the show was not going ahead and we could not do the walk either due to the rain. We were not prepared to wait an hour for the coach so caught a taxi back to the hotel. There was no back up plan if the weather was bad and we did not end up with the full experience we expected. Truly disappointing!

We were picked up on time and transferred by bus to the zoo. The guide was informative en route. After arriving at the zoo we were taken to the buffet. Plenty of food and variety available. This was followed by the tram ride through the zoo. It was an interesting ride which enabled us to see most animals standing and moving which you don’t get to see through the daylight hours. The only disappointment was not being able to take photos as no flashes are allowed. The trip will live in my memory for a long time.

This trip was probably worth doing as we would only have gone to a restaurant that evening and then gone back to our hotel.
However, we personally found the trip didn't live up to our expectations. Having said that we did see elephants, rhinos, lions, buffalo, ant eaters, and many other animals. It was just that the experience was rather muted.
Don't let this review put you off though. If you really like zoos or if you have young children, you will probably find this trip most enjoyable.
