Morning at the Zoo with Transfer

By Tour East Singapore
About
The Singapore Zoo is home to several thousand animals, perhaps none more popular than a resident family of orangutans. This package combines a tram tour of the zoo with an option for breakfasting with orangutans, which are part of one of the most successful breeding programs in the world. It’s an unusual combination that offers a little more intimate—but still safe and humane—interaction with animals who often make great company.

Get picked up from most major hotels in Singapore and Sentosa Island and head toward the zoo. If you’ve booked the optional breakfast, you are directed to Ah Meng Restaurant, where you’re treated to a buffet breakfast. Watch a resident orangutan family—part of the zoo’s successful breeding program—descend into the backdrop enclosure. Eat in their company, and take a photo in front of them if you’d like. After breakfast, hop on board an open-air tram for a trip around the zoo’s habitats, which are designed to mimic natural environments from rain forests to Himalayan foothills. Spot large animals from a distance, and get closer to others. Step out, stretch your legs, and explore on foot when the tram stops at designated points. Listen while your guide tells you about the resident animals’ lives and habitats. Your tour returns to the original departure point in time for lunch. Sadly, without the company of orangutans.

There's no better way to start your visit at one of the World's most beautiful zoos than to have a unique dining experience with our Jungle friends - charming Orangutans and slithery snakes! Look out for the adorable cotton-top tamarins as you enter the Singapore Zoo. Find out more about Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife with Tour East. Natural barriers like streams, rock walls and beautiful landscaping are used to separate the animals from visitors thus creating an 'open zoo' effect. Come and experience a close brush with nature from the comfort of your Tram and on foot.

A muted night safari but a good experience nevertheless
This trip was probably worth doing as we would only have gone to a restaurant that evening and then gone back to our hotel. However, we personally found the trip didn't live up to our expectations. Having said that we did see elephants, rhinos, lions, buffalo, ant eaters, and many other animals. It was just that the experience was rather muted. Don't let this review put you off though. If you really like zoos or if you have young children, you will probably find this trip most enjoyable.

Gardens by the Bay - A must do trip
This trip is a must do as far as we are concerned. The two domes (cloud forest and flower) are air conditioned and just fabulous. The first thing you see in the cloud forest dome is a huge waterfall. It is so impressive and sets the tone for everything that follows. The flower dome is just as impressive, well laid out and provding an immersive experience. We spent over an hour and a half in each dome. You could do them faster if you wanted to, but it would be a shame to rush them when there is so much to enjoy. Transport is provided to take you to the domes but not to return you to your hotel. This was good for us as it gave us time to purchase skyway tickets that give a great view from a bridge that links some of the super trees. We did a couple of other things in the Gardens by the Bay and returned to our hotel on the efficient, cheap and air conditioned MRT metro rail system. Gardens by the Bay is not to be missed.

          Singapore Morning City Tour
The morning city tour in Singapore captivated both my partner and me. I highly urge every couple to experience Singapore at least once; it's a charming city, perfect for romantic getaways.

          Broken Promise
Wow I was really looking forward to this tour to ground me in the city. They even picked up at my hotel according to the list (SouthBridge hotel). Got a communication from the tour, that they would pick up 0830 at hotel 1900. No sweat short walk. Got there at 0805, and waited till 0900 they no showed me. SO I know things happen in the tourist industry, but not communicating a issue is a no no. So I give this tour operator a ZERO.

          Didn't get picked up
We opted for the hotel pick up as we thought this would be an easier way to get to the venue - bur our pick up didn't happen. We had a great experience with this company before - but this time we simply didn't get picked up - and no communication about this. We ended up getting a private vehicle through the app Grab which was very efficient. Universal studios itself was good fun and wheelchair friendly. My daughter had hurt her ankle and we hired a wheelchair for S$15. The staff were very helpful and ensured we were looked after.

Beginner Tour to unique and popular areas of Singapore
This was a perfect little morning tour (before it got too hot & humid) to take on the first full day of Singapore. It provided us just enough info of landmark buildings, areas of town to visit later and of course a whirlwind through the beautiful National Orchid Garden. Our tour guide was friendly, energetic and attentive. We were first picked up in smaller mini vans in pre-determined hotels (make sure you know exactly where you’re scheduled to meet up). After picking up 3-4 groups of people in the minivan, you are joined into a larger bus of 25-30 people for the bulk of the tour. Then at the end of the Orchid tour, we rebosrded the minivans again and were dropped back off at the hotel.

          Committed to customer satisfaction.
The tour was exactly as promised. It was a great way for a new traveller to orient themselves to the layout of Singapore. The guide was knowledgeable and proud of his city. My daughter (teenager) tripped on the tour and the company has been great. Huge shout out to Sebastian who went above and beyond to ensure that my daughter had a good experience. This was a good starting tour to orientate ourselves.

          Good started tour around Singapore
Nice tour in air-conditioned van with the guide (Paul) and 4 other guests. We drove to few other hotels but the other booked guests never showed up. The guide Paul gave explanations of buildings and districts. Giving historical lessons how Singapore has developed after the British arrived. We left the van few times to walk around. Tour included entry to National Orchid Garden. Paul also gave tips where to go or where to eat something after the tour. No complaints.

Disappointed that no refund for display closed that we had paid for. Gardens beautiful
Driver was excellent, however we were unable to see the floral fantasy which we paid for as it was closed on that day. we requested a refund but this was refused. Very disappointing

          Avoid. Rip off.
Rip off. They never picked me up. I called and they claimed they didn’t have my reservation despite giving them the confirmation number and screenshots. They then ghosted me and refused to answer the phone anymore. So left me hanging and took my money. Ended up touring Singapore myself via the Metro. Avoid

          Good experience in Singapore ✨
It was a very good experience. The driver was really nice and the parc is quite small but you can enjoy the Universal vibe. I loved my experience in this attraction parc. I recommend you to go there especially if you have children.

Perfect Tour for Quick Visit to Singapore
This was a well-organized half day tour that hit the Arab quarter, a temple in China Town, the Merlion and the bay it sits on, as well as the Orchid Gardens in the Botanical Gardens. Along the way it passed by the Singapore House of Parliament (old and new), the Singapore Supreme Court, and embassy row. This tour covered a lot of ground in a brief amount of time. The tour guide was expertly informed on all aspects of the tour and kept it moving at a good pace. He had a great sense of humor as well. The tour bus was comfortable and provided good visibility. If you are making a quick visit to Singapore this is a perfect tour to hit the major tourist attractions.

Excellent tour, excellent guide ( Ian!)
Ian is a fantastic host! He knows his history, he was funny and very accommodating to all ages. Only issue was I booked the day before and chose my pickup point for 830 that morning- at 8AM they let me know I had to be somewhere else. I didn’t get a text - they sent it via email which I by chance decided to open because we arrived early. Singapore is hot and that was very stressful lol but Ian made the day worth it.

Having breakfast with the Orangutans was amazing and well worth it! However, the tour only allows you to spend just under 3 hours at the zoo (read the small print as the tour time includes travel time). The rest of the zoo was brilliant so that was a shame. We ended up staying at the zoo and didn't go back with the tour so we could see everything the tour had to offer. Also, it looked as though if you booked it directly with the zoo, you got a seat closer to the Orangutans at breakfast.

Had an awesome day at the zoo. Started with breakfast with the orang utans. An amazing experience to see them up close. Then spent time seeing the zoo. Note you will need more time than the Breakfast with the Orang Utans tour includes to truly experience the zoo. They allow for this and gave excellent directions for getting to the MRT so that we could get back to our hotel. The zoo is definitely something to see when in Singapore.

We were expecting a more personal experience, but it was far from that. Picked up from our hotel in a minibus, then taken to another Hotel and waited to be transferred to a coach. On arrival we were taken to the breakfast with the orangutans, but to our surprise it was in an open food hall with around 200 other people. The buffet breakfast wasn't too bad, but a bit of a battle for the food. Then the photo's with the orangutans, which was to line up and a quick photo, no touching, then back to your seat. We were then encouraged to take the shuttle for a tour around the zoo, but it went too fast to see anything and couldn't really see in enclosures. Then off to the seal show, after that about 30mins to look around the zoo then back to the coach. Not really enough time to really see the zoo. You do have the option to stay longer, but you have to find your own way home. Wouldn't do it again as almost half the 4hr tour is taken up in transfers and bus changes, you don't really have any personal interactions with the orangutans and not enough time to take in the zoo, which is beautiful.

From the moment we got on the bus to visit the Zoo, we had an exceptional Tour Guide named Richard. His knowledge is so good, we were able to ask him questions about Singapore on the drive to the Zoo. We have been to many Zoos in the world but this was the best experience we have had!

Well organised but eat before you go. By the time we arrived at the zoo and found a table it was past 10am. Zoo itself is fantastic. Not too crowded at that time of the morning. Biggest let down was the breakfast. Buffet and crowded. Queue for the orangutan pictures crazy and once you got to the front, a very quick snap. After breakfast you tour the zoo on your own until bus meeting time to get back to city. There was an option to stay later and make your own way back

Getting to and from the Zoo along with the Zoo experience itself were great. It is not that Breakfast with the Orangutans was bad, it simply did not live up to the expectations. It was great to see them swinging down the tree limbs to the spot where they eat breakfast and it was great to get the picture that will go up in our den with pictures of other trips. However, it was simply breakfast (not as good as what our hotel had) and a picture with the orangutans. If I went back today as a couple, I would skip the breakfast and go spend more time seeing the animals. Towards that end the zoo is great with several really good exhibits. Still if we still had young children, I think this would have been something we would do again.

The main issue was transfer. The driver picking us up at hotel waited in van for 15 minutes before coming in to collect us. After picking up next clients the driver was on his phone for a further 15 mins. After transferring to another van we were running late. About 15 minutes prior to arrival the mini bus broke down. It took about 30 minutes for a replacement van to arrive. Upon arrival we had to almost run to breakfast. We ended up only having 20 minutes for breakfast and most items were not available. We also missed most of the breakfast with orangutans session. We certainly did not get value for money. I feel we should get a refund for the breakfast. Tour operator cannot claim the breakdown was out of their control, as the van was old and obviously poorly maintained.

We booked a tour for this attraction with round trip transportation. The tour was only half day which was not enough time. The zoo has multiple parks but we just did the zoo itself. It is not overly large but was clean and the animals seemed happy. We went to Save the rainforest show and it was fun. I would suggest a full day and multiple parks if you can afford it!

My wife and I booked the breakfast with orangutans at Singapore zoo and it was fabulous. We got to spend at least 5 minutes with them together with the handlers. An amazing experience being so close to them.
We then caught the tram and walked around the very impressive zoo. We are not zoo lovers but this was excellent.
Our guide was very informative and funny.
