Hawker centers are some of the best places to sample traditional food in Singapore, but the mazelike networks of food stalls can be a challenge to navigate. With this tour, explore one of the city’s largest hawker centers with a guide, who takes you on an insider tour of the market and Chinatown neighborhood. Don’t worry about calculating individual dish prices, as all food is included in the tour.
  • Travel with a guide, so you won’t get lost in the hawker center
  • Experience how food and culture intersect in Singapore
  • Explore both the hawker center—one of Singapore’s largest—and Chinatown
  • Good value, as tour includes all food specified in the itinerary
What to Expect
Your walking food tour begins in Chinatown, where you’ll meet your guide inside the Chinatown MRT station at Exit A. Make your first stop at Chinatown Complex, one of Singapore’s largest hawker centers, food markets that sell local specialties. Your guide takes you through the complex of stalls to find some of the most coveted dishes, including poh piah spring rolls and Singaporean chicken rice. Hear insights into the local cuisine from your guide as you eat together. Next, explore Chinatown while your guide tells you about the neighborhood’s early immigrants. Visit temples and mosques, and make a stop at the Urban Redevelopment Authority Gallery, where you’ll learn about Singapore’s transition from a fishing village to cosmopolitan center. After a sample of kopi tarik—frothy coffee or tea with condensed milk—return to the original starting point, where the tour ends.

This was the 4th Urban Adventures tour my husband and I have done and it didn't disappoint. My recommendations: don't eat before you go, there will be a ton of food, and go early in your trip. Part of the nice thing about the Urban Adventures tours is that they want to give you

On reading other reviews it made me think about what they have said and yes, I have to agree. However it was still fun and interesting. I would recommend the tour. The food was plentiful but so it should be ... the tour is expensive. It gave us the courage and understanding to

This was billed as a food tour and having done others in different countries, I expected lots of quick stops trying different dishes with an explanation. We didn’t get that. We got two stops while Rene our guide ran around all the stalls collecting the different dishes and not

Like another reviewer (Nov 19) stated we were a bit confused by the format of this tour. I guess I had expected more about the specific history of the food hawking in Singapore and of the dishes themselves. Whilst we tasted some very nice food we did not really immerse ourselves
