Singapore Hawker Center Food Tour in Chinatown
From US$75.00
Hawker centers are some of the best places to sample traditional food in Singapore, but the maze-like networks of food stalls can be a challenge to navigate. With this tour, explore one of the city’s largest hawker centers with a guide, who takes you on an insider tour of the market and Chinatown neighborhood. It’s a great way to see how cuisine and culture intersect in Singapore.
What to Expect
Your walking food tour begins in Chinatown, where you meet your guide inside the Chinatown MRT station at Exit A. Make your first stop at Chinatown Complex, one of Singapore’s largest hawker centers, food markets where local specialties are perfected and sold.

Your guide takes you through the complex of stalls to find some of the most coveted dishes, including poh piah spring rolls and Singaporean chicken rice. Your guide eats with you and gives insights into the local cuisine.

Next, explore Chinatown while your guide tells you about the neighborhood’s early immigrants. Visit temples and mosques, and make a stop at the Urban Redevelopment Authority Gallery, where you learn about Singapore’s transition from a fishing village to cosmopolitan center.
After a sample of kopi tarik—frothy coffee or tea with condensed milk— and roti prate, return to the original starting point, where the tour ends.
