About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Kitty B0 contributionsFantastic way to get to know Singapore and immerse yourself in different aspects of its history and culture. This was an excellent tour - I learnt so much about the history and culture of Singapore and got a really good understanding of how the different areas connect together by walking around. The river cruise gave great views of the architecture and the juxtaposition of old and new. Richard (the tour guide) was very knowledgeable and friendly.Written 15 January 2025
- Paradise502498759320 contributionsFastastic tour!I joined the Singapore history and culture tour and had a really good experience with Hello Singapore Tours. The tour overall gave a good insight into the history and culture of Singapore. I especially enjoyed the Singapore river cruise which took you down the Singapore river, passing by many historical landmarks and buildings. The chicken rice that we had at the Maxwell food centre was super yummy and I also enjoyed the tea tasting session at the Chinese tea house. Our guide Kavin was very knowledgeable and friendly, and he did a fantastic job introducing Singapore's history, culture and many landmarks.Written 14 January 2025
- bonniecN3508OY0 contributionsAmazing tour.Gee Soo Boo gave a very informative perspective of Singapore. His personal interest in Singapore was clearly felt. Gee was extremely flexible and surprised us with a tour of the orchid gardens. Looking forward to meeting up with Gee on our return trip to complete our Singapore tours in a few weeks.Written 13 January 2025
- F4139ZGvictorc0 contributionsSingapore Walk/Drive TourGee Soo Boo and our driver Bernie were just the best anybody could ask for. Gee was very informative in his explanation of the sites we were shown. Bernie is a wonderful and safe driver. He dropped our group at each site at the closest available parking spot. Both were just a joy to experience our trip with.Written 13 January 2025
- 54coalter0 contributionsGreat day with Gee in Singapore! We had an all-day private tour with Gee, who turned a dreary rainy day into a fun learning adventure. He was personable, entertaining and memorable. He gave us great information on the culture in Singapore through the eyes of a native, sharing his personal experiences to help us understand. We felt like we left with a dear friend in Singapore. Hello! Tours is lucky to have him as a guide.Written 11 January 2025

- SusanB19970 contributionsWonderful TourRichard was a great guide. His knowledge of culture and history was very good. He was very open about explaining the culture of Singapore, including laws and living arrangements. I would highly recommend this tour as a food way to understand the Singapore people and this fascinating country.Written 8 January 2025
- Companion124223282390 contributionsAbsolutely amazing tour of SingaporeOur family and my sister’s family went on a walking tour of Singapore with Gee Soo and had an absolutely amazing time! Gee was extremely knowledgeable and super flexible with the schedule. We started our tour just after arriving at our hotel, and he adjusted the plans so we could get some authentic Singapore meals at the start of the tour since we were all hungry from our travels. His recommendations were great and we saw everything we wanted to see and more. He was so engaging and the kids (ages 7-11) adored him too (they want to go back to Singapore just to see Gee again). We saw so much of Singapore, and learned so much too. We have done a lot of traveling around the world and been on many tours, but I think everyone in the group agreed that Gee gave the best tour we have ever been on. If you are traveling to Singapore, and can book a tour with Hello Singapore with Gee as you guide, DO IT! It is an outstanding tour!Written 7 January 2025
- wendyhP5464OR0 contributionsA full-day tour of SingaporeOur full-day private tour with Su Ling was excptional. With very little input from us on what to see, she put together a comperhensive tour that included visiting Merlion Park, Gardens by the Bay, Chinatown, a delicious lunch at the Maxwell Hawker Center (during a quick downpour), the Buddha Tooth relic Temple, Little India and, the muslim quarter. As we traversed the city via taxis, the sub-way and on foot, Su Ling would sprinkle in hidden gems - temples, special architecture, shopping lanes, eaterys, the Atlas Bar, and statues. Traveling sometimes feels like you are treaspassing - with it's quick glimpses at everything, but our day with Su Ling felt we were seeing Singapore not only thru the eyes of a local, but a dear friend.Written 5 January 2025
- 643rebeccaz0 contributionsExcellent Food Tour!Stefan was a great guide and he customized our preferences and made sure to take us to places that we were interested in going to. It was a great way to explore different areas and also learn a little bit of history as well. The only complaint about this tour was that there was too much amazing food to eat in such a short period of time!Written 4 January 2025
- lindabJ8293SI0 contributionsA wonderful day!We had a wonderful 5 hour tour with Richard! He gave us great insight into many aspects of Singapore history, culture, and daily life. He also managed to include all places we asked to visit, and so much more. A private local guide is the way to go! I would have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone visiting Singapore.Written 3 January 2025
- Stay6788020 contributionsEat Like A Local Tour - Highly RecommendI really enjoyed the Eat Like A Local tour. Great group, amazing food, and I learnt so much about the different districts, cultures and way of life in Singapore. I would definitely recommend doing the tour early in your stay as Su Ling emailed us after the tour with the details of what food we ate and where along with a huge list of other recommendations of other places to eat and things to do. Many thanks Su Ling for a great day!Written 31 December 2024
- TinaTravelstheWorld0 contributionsFABULOUS, PEACEFUL, SUNSET CATAMARAN SAILI had a fabulous time on the evening sunset catamaran sail (as I did my first sail with them). This is my second sail with them in as many years. The boat was quite luxurious and the staff were efficient, professional and pleasant. The catamaran leaves out of Sentosa, which is very easy to get to via grab (Asia’s Uber). Meeting/Departing spot is One* 15 Marina in Sentosa Cove, a world class facility, where you’ll find 2 small gourmet grocery stores, a 7-11 and restroom facilities near the meeting spot. It is wonderful to see Singapore from the water. I really had a wonderful, peaceful sail with them and will book again next time I find myself in Singapore.Written 25 December 2024

his is my first trip to Singapore and I was looking for an overview of the history and culture. I ended up doing 3 separate tours with Gene D'Castro.
The first was a 4 hour walking tour which was indeed the overview as well as a walk through China town. It was really a useful start to see the city as a whole and get an idea of how Singapore is laid out as well both the historical and new maps. The walk through China town was interesting and informative. Lots of history as well as current info, especially on how Covid has affected the area. We had wonderful food at a local hawker center.
The second tour was the 6 hour food tour. We started in Katong neighborhood and worked our way through the Bugis and Little India. Eating wonderful local foods and seeing many neighborhoods and people.
The third tour was a 6 hour personal tour. Gene took me out to Changi village area, where we had a delicious breakfast and walked around the area, while he told me about the history of the Japanese invasion of Singapore in WWII. Next we went to the Jewel at the Changi airport, it was truly amazing. Both our flights into and out of Singapore were early in the morning and we didn't explore at all. I am so glad I did this, this airport is phenomenal. It has the largest indoor fountain in the world, the Rain Vortex, surrounded by a terraced forest. Simply beautiful.
I can't say enough good things about my time with Gene. He was a lovely companion, full of information and great stories.

An absolutely perfect start for a short stay in Singapore! Recommend it to anyone visiting. Richard our guide was perfect and flexible as it should be on a private tour. I did the tour with my kid who was 12 at the time and it worked perfect. The tour gave us a feel for the city and it was much easier getting around and feeling on top of things after the tour! Do the tour and I recommend starting your stay with it.

We had a great time. Gene our guide was fantastic and knew the best times to hit the various attractions that we had requested to visit. He was very knowledgeable and more than accommodating. Loved the Supertree Grove at night. It was an overall excellent tour.

This tour was literally the best! Our tour guide was “a local boy” Richard. Extremely knowledgeable about Singapore’s history, transparent, open, friendly omg I could go on! It was an experience to remember. We felt safe with him the entire time.. we walked and trained around… shopped, ate, drank it was all just so overwhelming amazing.. it was Shiok!!! Awesome job Richard! If you’re ever interested in doing a walking tour of Singapore it doesn’t even make sense doing it without Richard!!!

Gee soo was probably the best guide iI have ever experienced. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, fun, time conscious and extremely considerate. Gee soo took great photos which we promptly received after the tour. This was the best way to see and find out about Singapore in the time available. ( We were 2 fit 70 plus females)

Kwang Wei was an amazing host. Travelling alone this was seriously the best way to hit the ground running.
Be prepared to get the step count up but we saw Singapore from one of the highest points, took in the hawker culture, jumped on the MRT, hit Marina Bay Sands, caught a double decker bus to Raffles and enjoyed the famous Singapore sling. We squeezed in so much more but I had to pick the favourites.

Our tour guide, Bibi, was excellent. She took us to beautiful places around Singapore. We went to beautiful Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Cable Car. We visited Chinatown, where we learned how modern-day Chinatown became after being shut down. We ate at the Hawker Centre, my best food in Singapore. Highly recommend!

Gee Soo was our very knowledgeable guide. We were a group of 9 and it was one of the best tours I have ever been on. Gee Soo paced the walk really well. Knowing when to have a quick rest whilst taking us through the history of the city. I would not hesitate in recommending this tour.

How much of the 6 hour tour is spent in walking? in buses? in MRT? Also, how steep are the down escalators leading to the MRT?

We booked a private tour for two. In this case you can pretty much specify the type and content of tour you want. We specifically requested a largely walking history/heritage tour with no retail - that was exactly what we got! Guide and driver (for transfer between walking segments) were excellent. If you are clear with what you want Hello Singapore will deliver!
