HJ went above and beyond, providing us with an excellent tour and detailed commentary that was both informative and entertaining. He is very knowledgeable and a good judge of what will be of interest. We would strongly recommend him to others with an interest in Singapore’s history, culture, and cuisine.

Our life time resident guide was able to provide a deep insight into the history and culture of this unique city that he evidently loves passionately. His pride in the achievements of Singapore and its melting pot population spilled over into his his recommendations of great food and architecture. A fascinating half day.

I did a tour with Kenny on a day that was hotter than the hinges of Hell. However, it was well worth it, and I gained a lot more appreciation for a wonderful place that I had visited only once before. Kenny is very knowledgeable about Singapore. He did a great job of weaving history, diversity, cultural values, and policy objectives into a coherent and fascinating description of Singapore. Conversation was easy and enlightening while visiting some fascinating places and sampling the local culture and cuisine. This tour is a great way to become acquainted with Singapore, and it's value is enhanced by an engaging and informed tour guide. Thanks, Kenny!

Our guide, HJ Ng, was very knowledgeable and obviously very proud of his country’s heritage and was very excited to tell us all about it. He took us to places in the city we would not have been able to discover otherwise. We even got to see the chair Lee Kuan Yew sat on! It was a whirlwind tour of the highlights of Singapore. We were exhausted but he made good use of the 4 hour tour to make sure we got our money’s worth. Highly recommend!

We woke up to a beautiful day in Singapore ready to start our tour. If
you read any of my travel posts you know that I often hire a private
guide to see places from the eyes of a local. For this trip, we booked
one in each city. In Singapore, we used With Locals and found Monica.
We spent two days exploring the city using secret tunnels, the subway,
the bus and walking about 8 miles each day. If you want to truly enjoy
this city I highly recommend booking a day or two with Monica. We
visited Chinatown, ate Chicken and Rice at Michelin Star Hawker Chan,
shopped in Little India for sundresses, had one of Monica's favorite
drinks...Chendol at Mubarak Ali Kopitiam (this one is a little more
expensive than others but worth it for the amazingly light flavor). We
had a chance to try my favorite food Bone Marrow called Toolong at
Tash Tish Tosh and made a mess but it sure was delish. It was hot out
and we passed a little shop on Arab Street called #Selfie Coffee and
we couldn't resist. Day two was another fun adventure through the
Colonial District, where we saw the famous Raffles Bar where the
Singapore Sling was created. We went through the secret tunnel with
the glass library bridge, to the Merlion sculpture. We had the
yummiest treat after lunch, the famous Tan's Tutu Coconut Cake at Food
Republic, Vivo City. We caught the express monorail at Vivo City out
to Sentosa Island where you can find Universal Studios, lovely beaches
and delicious gelato. We ended our day at Gardens by the Bay visiting
the Super Trees, Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest! You absolutely must
go here in both the day time and at night. We actually came back here
on our final night of our Southeast Asia Tour to see them at night.

Rodney was an amazing guide and super flexible when we want to explore different things. For example, he went above and beyond because I wanted to make a dinner reservation at the art gallery and he gave us a little tour there that wasn’t included. Instead of 8 hours we ended up getting 9 hours total and he didn’t even realize how much time has passed.
He indeed took us to little gems, such as having croissants in a local place, hidden buildings, street food courts, and many others.
He knows the city extremely well and also the history of the country and why it got so quickly from being a third world country to a developed one.
Highly recommended

Recently (Jan '23) celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in beautiful Singapore - a surprise trip for my wife! I hadn't been back for many years and after some great reviews from our travel agent about Withlocals (Jack Zhao), I booked a 4hr city tour with him. Had to change the original date we had booked due to Jack's availability but he more than made up for this on our tour - covering all taxi expenses, paying for dinner in one of the Hawker centres and extending the tour time beyond the scheduled 4hrs.
Jack took us to all the major precincts and was very knowledgeable on the origins and history of these areas. He was polite and friendly, with good communication skills. Would highly recommend him as a tour guide if you're planning a visit to Singapore - thanks again Jack :)!

We loved having a local show us around to all the secret spots in the city. The guide Grayson, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw amazing places that we would not have found without doing this tour.
We recommend you do this tour on day 1 so you get an understanding of the local transport and an idea of the different locations. This helps when you are travelling around on your own later.

My sister and I had the pleasure of Richards company on a drizzly day in Singapore city. But I have to say the weather did not dampen our enjoyment as we had a wonderful guide to show us around. Richards enthusiasm for his home shines through in abundance. We spend the afternoon walking around the city, listening to history and tasting some interesting yet yummy delicacies. We asked Richard to take us to China Town with only an hour left and he happily took us. Here we tasted Durian fruit and we loved it! What a tour.. it felt as if we sadly left a dear friend and an incredible wonderful city but knowing her a lot lot better. Till we meet again dear Richard.

Hello. I don’t see an options how I can book a tour.
Can we get picked up from Changi Airport? Can we have large luggage with us? Is it a walking tour or a bus tour?
is this only a walking tour or a bus/vehicle is used? its for my parents and they are senior citizens.

You can try to reach the guide directly by downloading the app and sending a direct message via the app. That worked well for me when I had trouble finding the meeting place. The guide was very quick to respond.

Hi - I just wanted to check the price for the tour. The initial page says from $45.52 NZD but when you go in to the site it says NZD $279.81 for one person. This is a big difference. Can you tell me how much it is for 1 person please. Thank you K

Does the guide speak good English? We are a couple in our eighties, but quite ambulatory. Is this tour suitable for us?
