About
Join us on a journey through Singapore from past to present. Enjoy dinner in a Hawker Centre and a tea ceremony. You start your journey with the founding of Modern Singapore by Sir Stamford Raffles, visiting historic colonial buildings to learn about the early pioneers who came to Singapore. You will board a bumboat and cruise down the river through to the present day. Visit Merlion Park and soak in the sunset view of Marina Bay whilst learning about the mega construction project behind it. Discuss the political reform by Mr Lee Kuan Yew and discover how Singapore went from third-world to first-world in one generation. Feast on Singapore’s most iconic dish; Chicken Rice at the famous Maxwell Hawker Centre. Your guide will teach you Hawker Centre etiquette and point out all of the must-try foods in Singapore. After dinner, retreat to a beautiful teahouse for a traditional tea tasting experience. Try the Imperial tea that Queen Elizabeth II was served in the very same teahouse.

Gene Rocked it!!
Jan 2020 • Couples
I can’t say enough about how excellent our guide Gene was! He explained the history of Singapore to us as we walked around, and his enthusiasm for his city was infectious! We explored a vast area of the city, both by bus and on foot. We especially loved the view from a high rise roof, as well as the walking through local neighborhoods as the weather cooled down a bit. And the tea tasting at the end of the tour was a wonderful final touch. Gene went way above and beyond our expectations, guiding us back to our hotel at the end of our tour, then surprising us by sending up some hand wipes to our hotel room due to a comment I had made earlier about wishing I had thought to bring some with us for our stay in Singapore and our upcoming travel in Asia. Gene rocked it!!

Excellent trip - not to be missed!!
There are lots of sights you can visit in Singapore without the need for a guide. But this tour includes some places that you would never get to see unless you were with a local. In addition, our guide Gene was fun, charming, and extremely knowledgable about the history of his city.
We started off in the colonial part of the city, seeing the old government buildings that have been beautifully transformed into the ultra modern museum of Singapore.
We then did a short boat trip, took a walk around the historic port area, saw the “Merlion”, then took a bus to a suburban area where we visited one of the many apartment blocks (HDBs) that are for Singapore citizens.
Note: the view from the top of this HDB is WAY better than what you see from the Marina Bay Sands building. Plus, it’s free, and you have the benefit of Gene explaining everything in the context of Singapore culture, economics and demographics.
Possibly the most fun bit was then the trip to Maxwells hawkers market for dinner. I now understand why Hainanese chicken rice is so special! Then a trip to a Chinese tea house.
The whole trip took about 4.5 hours.
If you book any guided tour in Singapore, I recommend you make it this one. All the rest of Singapore you can see for yourself!!

Gee Soo is a great guide, very knowledgeable and welcoming. The tour provides a good overview of Singapore with a few lesser-known experiences that make it unique and well worth it.

Guide Gee Soo is the best!
Oct 2019
We learned so so much about Singapore on this excellent 5 hour tour. We went to many of Singapore’s cultural quarters and tried delicious food from restaurants and hawker centres. Our guide Gee Soo is so knowledgeable, he could answer all our questions, not just about food but Singapore’s taxes, politics, housing, welfare, history; everything! Wear comfy walking shoes and a hat.

Great overview
Oct 2019 • Couples
Su Ling did a great job providing us with a historical overview of the city through to today. We really enjoyed seeing how the locals live and had a good meal at the hawker center. She seemed to take pleasure in introducing us to her city. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Such a great experience.
Oct 2019
We took the day to night tour with Gee Soo. It was so much fun. Gee Soo was very enthusiastic and we learned so much from his immense knowledge about this beautiful city. The rooftop of the government housing building provided great views and insight of how daily Singaporeans live. The chicken rice was delicious and Gee Soo was a great guide. I would not hesitate in recommending this tour to anyone.

Tour with great places
Aug 2019
Our tour guide was Su Ling and she did a great tour for us. Handed out fans when we first arrived at our location which was nice to have in the hot weather. Loved how she took care of everyone on the tour, took both group pictures and individual so we all have them to remember the great places. After the tour she sent a detailed email of what we did and other great places to go along with our pictures. Fabulous tour would highly recommend to anyone going. I think the tea tasting was our favorite way to end it and we got some great tea to bring home and enjoy.

A bit of history, culture, and food
Mar 2019 • Couples
A well rounded tour with a bit of history, culture, and food. Our guide Janice did a great job, imparting a lot of local knowledge. Extra points for taking photos of the tour and sending them to us; that's the first time I've had a tour company do that. Thank you.
