Being a local for the day
Our Singapore private tour with the BEST tour guide (Pamela Loh) and our spectacular driver Bernard. My husband and I have high expectations when traveling. We like to experience as many things as possible in a given day but do not want to be rushed or herded like sheep. We also want a guide that is knowledgeable, friendly and gives you an immersive experience as a local. I highly recommend Hello Singapore Tours and you will not be disappointed—request Pamela as she was excellent, knowledgeable, respectful, entertaining and just extremely fun to spend the entire day with around the city. Recap of the tour First, we checked out the National Orchids Garden where we saw many wild and hybrid orchids. Then, we stopped at Marina Bay overlooking the iconic Marina Bay Sands and learned of the story of Merlion. We saw Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore and visited the old parliament house before making it along our Singapore River into Fullerton Hotel, the former General Post Office. Next, Bernard drove us to the oldest Chinese temple in Singapore, Thian Hock Keng. After which, we made our way to the heart of Chinatown. Along the way, you tried the pandan chiffon cake. Then, we also had lunch at Chinatown hawker centre where you tried a local snack, popiah (fresh spring roll), carrot cake, chicken rice where you washed it down with the tiger beer. Lastly, we visited Gardens by the Bay, the 2 conservatory domes, Flower Dome and Cloud Forest where you saw more cherry blossoms where you thought you were done with in Tokyo and the second tallest indoor waterfall in the world.

This tour was one of my favorite tours and a highlight of my trip to Singapore - highly recommend the tour with Pam as your tour guide! It was a great way to see the different cultural influences in Singapore and try a wide variety of dishes while getting some exercise. Communication: - Clear instructions were provided on the meeting location along with an introduction to our guide. - After the tour concluded, we received a follow up email from Pam with a recap of our tour, photos taken, the dishes we ate, locations visited, and a few of her favorite restaurants around the city. Tour: - Our group had a total of 7 people, which was the perfect size. At the beginning of the tour, Pam asked everyone to share a bit about themselves (name, where they're from, any allergies, and what dish they hope to try while in Singapore). I appreciated that approach as I look forward to meeting new people as a solo traveler and not all tours take the time to get to know everyone. - The tour was primarily centered around the Katong and Kampong Glam areas. This included a stop to view the Peranakan houses, Sultan Mosque and Haji Lane. Tips: - Wear comfortable shoes - Bring a poncho in case it rains - Bring water or you can buy water while on the tour - Tips for your guide are not included, but appreciated - If the tour is fully booked, I recommend contacting the company to check on any last minute changes to availability. I emailed two companies and both were able to accommodate my last minute request. I would definitely recommend this tour and will go on the same tour again next time I'm in Singapore.

    Wonderful 3hr evening catamaran cruise
This cruise was a wonderful way to see another side of Singapore. It was super fun and both Shaun and Herlini were wonderful hosts. Every detail was thought of and they were such lovely people. It was another highlight of our trip. We are so glad we did this! If I could give this 6 stars I would.

Good tour and a great guide!
Su Ling was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable and articulate about each neighborhood. She was attentive and considerate — one member of our group had dietary restrictions, so she skillfully worked those into the menu as we went. She took photos at each stop and sent them to us at the end of the tour, which was very thoughtful. The tour was well organized. There was variety in both the food and the types of eateries, with a good pacing for drinks and frequent air-conditioning. The tour included the charges for food and a bus ride between neighborhoods, making it faster and more convenient than doing it on our own. Highly recommended!

    Singapore Food tours
Pam was an excellent guide—knowledgeable about the history/culture/cuisine, enthusiastic, and a great storyteller. She was very organized and allowed plenty of time for us to experience the local cultural and culinary highlights. We would highly recommend Pam as a guide.

    Excellent food tour with Pam!
Pamela was an excellent tour guide and really showed us a wonderful experience of Singapore as we traveled across four different neighborhoods and got a taste of the local cuisines of each area. Pam also shared a lot of historical and other facts that made the tour well worth it. Met a great group of folks that made this an awesome experience!

Pamela is a tour guide was five stars all the way!
Pamela was an amazing guide and we had a fantastic time seeing the local sites in Singapore. As a Neurosurgeon, I am not easily impressed with the work ethic of other people often come quite disappointed from things like this. Hello Singapore tour guided by Pamela was simply outstanding in my book. We covered a lot of ground in our six hour tour and Pamela was incredibly informative and a real pleasure to work with. From her prompt meeting at the airport and the luxurious van accommodations and outstanding driver during the tour we felt comfortable with her right from the start. Well organized well sold out itinerary and color commentary gave us a good understanding of the history of Singapore.

    Food marathon around Singapore
Great food in lots of different places and lots of info about Singapore. Although 6h was a bit of a food marathon and the longest food tour I've ever had it was great.

    Phenomenal City Tour Experience!
Su Ling is a phenomenal tour guide! She is very charming, informative and accommodating. We had limited time in Singapore and she made sure we hit all the highlights and taught us a great deal about the culture & history of this amazing city! Su Ling went above and beyond to ensure our tour was satisfactory. It was all that and more!

    6 Hour Singapore Adventure
We had a wonderful finish to our two day Singapore visit with a 6 hour tour with Su Ling. With help designing our tour, to its execution, it was perfect. We explored some of the neighborhoods such as Chinatown, Little India. and the Muslim Quarter, tried foods, explored outdoor markets and spent some time at the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest in Gardens by the Bay. Su Ling was informative and engaging, and took pictures along the way which are a great memory for us. All in all, I would recommend this tour whole heartily.

A great way to experience Singapore
Gee soo was probably the best guide iI have ever experienced. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, fun, time conscious and extremely considerate. Gee soo took great photos which we promptly received after the tour. This was the best way to see and find out about Singapore in the time available. ( We were 2 fit 70 plus females)

    Excellent tour
Gee Soo Boo was a fantastic guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. The food tour was the perfect combination of Singapore history and food tasting. It is a 6 hour tour snd we used public transportation to get to the different districts. We were kept well supplied with water and made the most of the available air conditioning throughout the day. If you want to see and taste all aspects of Singapore then I highly recommend this tour.

Please be aware this tour will go ahead even in poor weather, we had continuous rain for the whole of our tour.

Because of the weather, we missed out on many of the highlights. We didn’t visit the parks or go to Marina Bay or see the Fullerton Bay Hotel. St Andrews Cathedral was covered in netting and wasn’t visible, and most disappointing of all was no river cruise due to the rain. We didn’t look round clerk quay.

Our Guide Daniel was very pleasant and he gave us lots of interesting information about the history of Singapore. We enjoyed the Hawker meal of chicken rice and the tea ceremony very much.

Our visit up a typical residential tenement building involved a trip up and down in the lift and a 10 minute look over the walkway balcony at China town below.
The visit to the two old Colonial buildings of city Hall and the national art gallery, involved standing under the new ( ish) glass and aluminium structure that joins the two old buildings together, and being told all about the joins construction.

We didn’t visit any other part of these beautiful old buildings or see any exhibits/art.

I understand that the weather cannot be predicted and that some of the itinerary has to be adjusted for weather and renovations. But there didn’t seem to be any plan B for such situations. Surely other attractions should be available. The only alternative to the river cruise offered was a visit to a Chinese sweet shop. This lack of any other alternatives is my reason for such a poor review.

We were told we would get a refund for the river cruise part. I today received an email confirming that we would receive $11SD (approx £6.50) pp refund. In light of the fact the tour cost nearly £190 for two and we missed so many of the expected sights this feels very unsatisfactory.

An alternative option to cancel on the day when the weather was so obviously appalling would have been appreciated.

This tour was an excellent introduction to Singapore. Luckily for us, we were the only ones booked on the tour that day so it felt like a private tour. In addition to seeing many of the key sights, we learnt a lot about Singapore history, culture and way of life from our guide Gee Soo. Gee Soo also couldn't have been more attentive and helpful, adjusting the pace to suit us and ensuring we stayed hydrated! I can highly recommend this tour as an introduction to Singapore, especially if you're only staying a few days.

Exactly as I hoped, the tour took us to fabulous parts of Singapore that we otherwise would have missed, in particular the river quay area. Richard was the perfect guide - interesting and lively and informative. He gave us a strong sense of the culture and history of Singapore without feeling we were being lectured. And he adapted the tour along the way to suit our interests. Highly recommended!!!

For those re-considering this tour because of the stated 8 kilometres of walking, kindly disregard. I wasn’t sure if my minimum fitness level could withstand this tour? However, I needn’t have worried. Walking is @ a leisurely pace and includes a boat ride and a couple of subway rides to break it up. Richard was a very passionate tour guide which is commendable considering he does these tours every day. He is particularly enthusiastic about his food and is a self confessed foodie. He was a wealth of knowledge being a local himself about the best places to eat and we had the yummiest Hainanese Chicken Rice meal @ The Maxwell Hawker’s Market. The highlight for us though was the Tea Ceremony @ Tea Chapter. I am not a tea drinker but reconsidered on this occasion. It was a special way to end our tour. Might I suggest that if you can, you do a tour such as this @ the beginning of your journey so that you can take Richard up on some of his food, restaurant, shopping etc recommendations onboard.

The rainy day had dampened our spirits but was quickly changed by the pleasant, informative manner of Daryl our tour guide. As we strolled thru the National Gallery of Art, Daryl pointed out important details of buildings architecture and historical past. This gave us a view of Singapore's unique history and place within Southeast Asia. The Singapore river cruise gave us a nice overview of life present and past. The dramatic transformation of this young island nation is truly impressive! Chai you, Singapore!
Not to be missed are the impressive views from the PHE (public housing estate) roof deck. The hawker center and the tea house experience is yummy, informative and unique to Singapore's mix of food culture and cuisine.
This tour by Daryl is a great introduction to the first time Singapore visitor and also for the more seasoned Asia traveler who wants to go deeper into Singapore's history and culture.

We had a wonderful, most informative and interesting, half day walking tour in Singapore, with Richard. Although we walked 9km, we did so at a relatively slow pace and due to the variety of the many locations and the mid afternoon start, we didn’t find the walking a problem. We enjoyed the many places and areas of Singapore we visited, the river boat cruise, eating chicken and rice, with the locals at the Hawker food centre. As a finale, we learnt the etiquette and took part in the traditional tea tasting. A very enjoyable day, Richard was so informative and only too happy to answer any of our questions and even followed up our tour with an email, detailing our tour and the photos he took of our group. We can highly recommend going on this tour, we learnt so much about Singapore past and present. Thank you so much, Richard.

This tour has it all! We learned so much about Singapore during this tour from our knowledgeable guide Richard and explored areas/buildings I wouldn’t have thought of such as the National Gallery and old Supreme Court. It was a great introduction to Singapore and also included a river cruise (such a highlight!) with amazing views of the Merlion, the Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum and the financial district. The hawker centre was also a highlight and we appreciated Richard explaining the rules /customs to us. The food was absolutely delicious! We ended with tea which was such a lovely way to cap everything off. Richard went out of his way to take photos for us, recommend different experiences/ foods to us and even sent a detailed email after our tour which included the pictures/experiences he detailed which was so thoughtful! Thank you for a great experience Richard and we are working our way through your suggestions!

We had an amazing afternoon/evening with our guide, Gee Soo. We were able to see the highlights and learn so much about the history of Singapore and current life. My partner and I were the only two on the tour so our guide was able to tailor it to our interests and found food at the hawker market that we hadn’t tried already. Our guide was also able to rearrange aspects of the tour when weather got in the way to ensure we got the most out of our time. I would highly recommend this tour and suggest it for your first or second day in Singapore.
