- Shannon G00Excellent tour of Little India!I booked the Little India tour with Rachel and had a fantastic time! She had so much history/facts to share and even had a binder of photos and other visuals. I got to see parts of Little India that I wouldn't have been able to on my own, or would have walked right by. She also gave helpful travel/food recommendations for the rest of our trip. You won't regret booking a tour with Rachel!
- O2399FZrobertb00All Included Tour!Highly recommend Culture Curious for a tour of Singapore. Excellent communication and flexibility with the itinerary. I had the pleasure of spending a half day city tour with Rachel. During the tour we covered everything!! Visiting Chinatown, Little India and the Civic Centre. Rachel gave an in depth, interesting description of the history of Singapore. Rachels knowledge of all things Singapore was unbelievable. Visiting certain viewpoints, buildings, bridges to highlight the story of Singapore was fantastic. Full explanation of MRT system and how to get around Singapore was invaluable during my stay in Singapore. While visiting the Maxwell Food Centre to discuss food options, ordering procedures and tips including the importance of a box of tissues, Rachel noticed a short queue at a hawker stand and immediately took the opportunity to jump in line. Within 2 minutes of joining twenty other people also had. We had joined the queue for the number one rated hainanese chicken rice stand in Singapore. People can wait for an hour but Rachels local knowledge meant one of my first meals in Singapore was a highlight of the whole trip. Rachel also emailed further information and tips for my stay in Singapore.
- Trotters220300Believe the ReviewsMy wife and I did a 4 hour tour of Singapore yesterday with Rachel. It seemed to be over in 40 minutes. Rachel is a lovely person as well as an excellent guide. She obviously knows and loves Singapore and it’s inhabitants and is keen to pass this on. Communication was excellent from first contact to agree a basic itinerary which remained flexible until the completion of the tour. We experienced a lot which would been impossible on our own with only 4 days in Singapore. We now feel as if we have made a friend and if we return to Singapore Cultural Curious Tours will be first on our to do list. If in doubt believe the reviews and book Rachel as your guide.
- Go6329710278700Excellence.This tour is definitely exceeded my expectations. With such a short time planning for our 3 days in Singapore, Rachel has been so wonderful showing us her lovely hometown. We appreciate her honesty, communication, professionalism, and knowledge. She is very punctual, reliable, and make you feel like at home. We are grateful for her work and time spent with us. FYI- she has a lovely IG account for her Frenchie 🥹
- CTLiotta00Amazing tour!Rachel was phenomenal in every sense of the word - prepared, organized, attentive, and knowledgeable about Singapore. Kudos! 💯
- KatrinaLu1600Explore the mysteries of Little IndiaRachel is the best tour guide we have ever seen! She is excellent, lovely and definitely a superb storyteller and very insightful. We like and appreciate the way and attitude Rachel organized the tour with details, patience and her true passion before, during and after the tour which made our Little India time a very interesting, informative and memorable. Tasting local foods and walking through wet market were also an amazing part of the arrangements to get to know more about the culture and tradition. Highly recommend Rachel and you will always get surprise from her.
- reneeec201900A Singapore treasure! We had an awesome day with Rachael! She is very knowledgeable, energetic with wonderful communication skills. The day prior to our tour she emailed me tentative schedule, confirmed our meeting place and provided suggestions for attire along with a friendly reminder for sunscreen and water. We explored parts of Chinatown, Kampong Glam, and the National Art Gallery. Rachael provided an experience that immersed us and educated us about Singapore. She is more than a tour guide, she has a true passion for her clients as she seamlessly weaves together stories of culture and history. I loved the photo binder where she could show us a visual history. Additionally, she patiently took pictures and provided great recommendations and suggestions. Culture Curious Singapore Tours with Rachel is an absolute must do on you visit to Singapore! Thanks again Rachael!
- pazetteolfindo00Thank YouRachel, thank you for taking my mom and my aunts around Singapore. They have learned so much from you about the places and stories of Singapore. Thank you for taking over my job as a daughter to tour them around when I could not. Your passion, your patience, your integrity and just overall pleasantness is very much appreciated. My mom and my aunts will forever remember this trip because of you. Thank you sincerely.
- M8708RTtt00Awesome tour for learning about culture and architecture!I took this architecture tour (Art, Architecture and History Tour) with a relative last month, and it was money well spent! Our tour guide, Rachel, took us on a walking tour to see both traditional as well as modern buildings. It was nice to see the different structures, and what I liked even more was hearing about the cultural significance of details, such as how the bamboo roof design we saw in the traditional area reflected the owner's wish for the family to be strong and resilient, like bamboo. Details like that are things you wouldn't really know as a tourist from a different culture, so I was happy to learn different things during the tour. In addition to taking us around, Rachel had also prepared art prints that she showed us during relevant parts of the tour, translated Chinese writing I saw in the traditional area, and talked about Singapore's policies regarding architecture and greenery. We saw a lot and learned a lot on this tour, so it was really worth it! Would definitely recommend this tour! :) And thank you very much to Rachel for this interesting and informative tour of Singapore's architecture! :)
- chrisATK100If the best is not enough, Rachel for sure is!I hardly write a review, but when i do, than it's because the experience/service delivered was outstanding. Rachel is not just a tour guide who shows you around to places. She is a very kind and well educated person which attributes tremendously to the experience. I contacted her with my wishes and the itinerary couldn't have matched better what i expected. She also has a very calm personality which helps to fully immerse in the scenery where she shows you around and the information she provides with it. Never i got the feeling it's just run-of-the-mill and rushing to the next place. At different points throughout the tour i enjoyed to discuss with her several topics like education system in Singapore or in general social topics but also environmental ones. And for each topic she also provided knowledgeable information and integrated it seamlessly into the tour (like public subsidized housing). Rachel is really a gem and i can recommend her tour to anyone in a heartbeat.
- Helen5432100Fascinating Little India!Enjoyed the tour tremendously! Even though Little India is like within the Singapore backyard, there were still gems of knowledge my husband and I got to know today! Rachel is such a personable and passionate guide. She takes every effort to make history "come alive". Drawing from her research and experience, she breezes us through a most enjoyable time down the "back streets" of little India to Jln Besar, dropping little tips and nuggets for the time-tested traveller. I am proud to support such quality local tours like these! Keep it up guys! :)
- Fiona N00Interactive and informativeJoined the tour with a friend and group size was 5 in total inclusive of our guide, Rachel. Rachel is an exceptional guide who takes time to familiarise with us and has enriched us with tidbits of information on the historical background of the sites seen at Little India. Her rich knowledge of the place is clearly demonstrated in her bringing us to places where we can get magnificent bird's eye view of the landscape of Little India. Depsite the heavy rain, she was flexible in the tour schedule and was accommodating in checking with our schedule and extending the tour to 4 hrs to ensure that we still get to enjoy the full experience of the tour when the rain died down. The impressive depth and range of places, food and information covered makes it worth the price for the tour.
- greenteaconnoisseur00A lovely and informative tour around Little IndiaI joined the tour with a friend, and a couple haf also signed up for the tour separately so there were five of us in total with our tour guide, Rachel. The tour group's small, which makes for a much more discussive atmosphere and even though I'm Singaporean myself, I've taken away quite a fair bit from the tour. Unfortunately, it rained pretty heavily during the tour but Rachel re-arranged our itinerary and we started off with some food at Tekka hawker centre and a look through the wet market. She went through the history behind how hawker centres were started, how the dishes are made and some ingredients in the wet market. Once the rain had died down into a drizzle, she led us through Little India and shared about how Little India has 'evolved' over time including pointing out some relics from building projects and architectural features of cultural importance. She also gave us several food recommendations, which is always a plus. 😊 The tour took a total of almost 4 h. Overall, despite the more expensive price tag, I do think the small group tour Rachel provides is a really informative and personal experience. If you'd like to learn more about Singapore, Rachel and her tours with Curious Culture is definitely worth going for.
- MarieLacoursiere00Terrific tour that I strongly recommendVisiting Singapore from Canada for the first time and did this tour with my 14 year old son on Day 7 of our visit. Booked the tour because I was curious about Little India and there wasn’t much about it in my travel guide. This tour is hands-down on my Top 3 highlights for the entire trip. Rachel is very knowledgeable and entertaining. She took us to places we would have otherwise not been to and gave us a solid and very interesting overview of the Indian cultural heritage in Singapore. Having her guide us through the Hawkers and market was very valuable so we’d get a great sample of Indian foods from “A” stalls, and so was having her guide us through a Hindu temple. We left with an appreciation we wouldn’t have had doing this on our own. Strongly recommend her to anyone visiting Singapore wishing to learn more about this fascinating facet of Singaporean life.
- celinatan6800Tea & Tiffin - heritage and food tour of Little IndiaThis is the first time my hubby & I explored and learnt more of Little India. We had a very personalised experience with Rachel our guide; who brought us to key cultural sites, hipster sites and let us sample delicious local food at the markets. We had glimpses of the history of the area we never knew and even the downpour did not deter us from continuing with the rest of the tour.

This is an excellent tour facilitated by a very knowledgeable guide, Rachel Chen. Rachel packs a lot of information into her little frame and explains different topics clearly backed up by pictures and photographs of both old and new Singapore. I especially liked that the tour was in that part of the city that blends the old and the new and gave me a vision of the origin of the city state and its unique and rapid progress to its current first world status. She has a good command of facts on different topics ranging from art to faith and religion, environment and the greening of the city, architecture and economics. For me this is what makes traveling so educational and interesting. On top of all these, she is also a very charming, personable and caring person.

An excellent tour. As newcomers to Singapore we found Rachel’s in depth knowledge of the history and culture of the island fascinating. So much better that reading from a guide book. We couldn’t have wished for anything better. As a retired couple we have travelled a lot and booked many tours. This one topped the lot! We would highly recommend it.
Thanks Rachel.
Thanks Rachel.

2020 is a year where travel is cancelled but Im glad it made me discover more of our own backyard through this tour! Rachel is a very engaging and well-versed guide. I learnt so much about Singapore history and the arts around us through her stories. This tour made me want to know more about Singapore and appreciate what we have. Highly recommended!

Rachel managed to keep the group size small so it felt like having a personal tour guide! She was really knowledgeable and tailored the tour to my interests. We stopped for breaks when needed and she was a gracious host. In follow-up to my questions she also provided links in an email for further research.

My cousin had booked this tour as part of my 2-week vacation in Singapore. It was my first time in the country and we were looking for things to do and places to visit. As an architect, I really enjoyed visiting all of the old temples and structures, as well as the more modern buildings in the area. Rachel was a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable, friendly, and just overall a great companion! What's great was it was just my cousin and me in the tour so it really felt like a private tour or just three friends walking around Singapore. She even volunteered to take photos of us! I learned so much about Singapore, not only relating to Architecture, but also about the country's culture and current events. It was such a memorable tour, and I would gladly book a tour again with Rachel!

Our guide Rachel met us at Telok Ayer MRT station, the starting point of this short 3 hours tour. She was already there when we arrived at 9am. She was not carrying any sort of ID but we guessed it was her as she was carrying a tote bag full of her printouts and pictures of old Singapore!
Rachel was very friendly and bubbly, and gave us very interesting and informative commentaries of the various sites on the walkabout tour. She even brought us to Amoy Street Food Centre and got us some famous curry puffs and local tea/coffee after a detailed visit of the famous Thian Hock Keng Temple in Telok Ayer Street. She also took us various buildings and locations which had sculptures of note, and historical significance.
We thoroughly enjoyed the walkabout which bolstered our history of this small island we call home!

Rachel has been very helpful and passionate in helping me arrange a walk tour for my uncles and aunties - 2 locals and one long time resident in SG from UK! Though it was rather last minute, Rachel made things happen by re-arranging her schedule. She also took good care of the 3 oldies (1 Pioneer Generation & 2 Merdeka Generation!). They were very impressed with the entire tour and Rachel, the guide. Despite living in this island for years, this was their first time getting to know respective places of interest more intimately with deeper knowledge! Rachel showed images/ pictures of how the old Singapore looked like, which helped my relatives better understand and remember what was shared in the tour! Specifically for my uncle from UK, he was able to share some things he learnt about the chinese temple & culture which i aint aware!
Definitely recommended for both tourists and locals alike!

Hello Huiling,
Thank you for the detailed review! So great to know that your relatives found the tour nostalgic and even shared with me their memories from the yesteryear in places like the Singapore River and the former Clifford Pier. Grateful for the opportunity to be a host to the awesome group. Cheers!

Easy communication with Rachel prior to the tour. As a past traveller to Singapore, I was interested to hear more from the historical point of view and Rachel amply showed us with great enthusiasum all that had come to pass since the first British settlement. As a 'foodie' I really appreciated the knowledge she shared with us, including the visit to Amoy Food Centre. Would definitely book another tour with Rachel on my next visit, which I hope will be sooner than later!
