Overview
Journey through an undiscovered land of wild desert landscapes, snow capped peaks, herds of alpaca and arrive at Rainbow Mountain, hidden deep in the Andes. Since the pre-Inca times the mountain has been a place of worship and offerings. This tradition continues today. During this 15-hour guided trip you will see picturesque villages, beautiful adobe houses, herds of llamas and alpacas, along with a magnificent view of the glacier Ausangate. With the beauty and uninterrupted solitude, this is a spectacular journey for hikers who love a true outdoor adventure. Includes breakfast and lunch.

  • Round-trip transport removes the hassle of driving through the mountainous Peruvian landscape
  • Travel light, as breakfast and lunch are included

What to Expect
Head down to your Cusco hotel lobby for early morning pickup. Relax on the tour vehicle for the several-hour journey through Peru’s rugged landscape to the town of Quessiuno, where you’ll enjoy an included breakfast. As you make the challenging 3-hour climb up the mountain, your guide will provide assistance and point out the local flora and fauna. At the summit, admire the mountain's colorful landscape and learn about the geological processes responsible for it. Snap photos of the Ausangate Glacier and rest for a bit before making your way back down for lunch in Quessiuno. Relax in the vehicle on the ride back to Cusco, where you’ll be dropped off in Regocijo Square. Please note: Tour participants should be acclimated to the altitude and in strong physical condition. It's a nice short trip. It doesn't take all day, you leave at around 5am, get breakfast in a small but nice restaurant and arrive at the mountain around 8am-9am. You should be leaving the site at around noon and, considering the stop for lunch,...More
