Carlos our guide was great! Sadly, one of the group was really problematic - she didn't wake up on time, gave the wrong hotel address, so we had to delay our departure for 50 minutes. Later, she insisted on walking up to the summit even though she was overweight and very slow, so that we had to wait another 45 minutes to see whether she made it down the volcano. In fact, after waiting that long, the rest of the group (6 other people) had to leave her to get a very late lunch; it turned out that despite a curfew of 1 pm, she didn't get down until 3:30 pm, so that the rangers and police had to be alerted. Thank goodness she had her own car, so good riddance! There needs to be some procedure whereby one inconsiderate, selfish tourist who doesn't think of anybody else's welfare does not ruin the schedule for a bunch of everybody else in a group. That is NOT Carlos' fault - every person on your tours should sign a waiver so that if they're late for something, they are left to fend for themselves so they don't wind up wasting everybody elses' time. In our case, with 6 people, a total of over 9 man hours was wasted waiting for this problematic tourist - we could have spent it doing other things. FYI we didn't pay $90 each to wait around for 1 1/2 hours each. Luckily, because of Caro's enthusiasm and responsiveness, the tour was a success despite him having to deal with that terrible, selfish person in our group,. I hope the company will figure out how to keep such terrible people from impacting your tours.

🇺🇲 What a wonderful experience!

I was very excited for this day trip and Francis was the best guide I could have asked for. He was punctual, mannerly, and spoke very good English as well. He was very knowledgeable about the terrain, the animals, the surrounding area, its history, and El Salvador in general. Francis is very fit and we made it up the volcano very quickly under his lead. Francis is very in tune with nature and he also takes the BEST photos. He knows the volcano well and he can get the best angle so that you can have pictures to cherish forever! He also knows the perfect spot for a picture with the lake in the background after the climb. The restaurant for lunch had a gorgeous view and was very relaxing after a hard climb. If Francis is your guide, you will not be disappointed!

This is the most friendly tour operator I have ever had. Francis was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire time we spent with him. He helped our entire family to hike the Santa Ana volcano considering that we had minors and seniors. Francis gave us tremendous recommendation about where to eat and where to go. This is the best experience with ever had. Thank you Francis…

Francis was great! He was our groups guide for a few tours. He was super informative and funny. It was really cool to hear all the indigenous history and to hear the history of El Salvador. The volcano was absolutely amazing. I got the coffee ice cream at the top and it was the next thing especially after that hike.

Our tour guide Francis was amazing! SO knowledgeable, patient, passionate about sharing the history and culture, and funny. Very accommodating as well. The views at Volcán Santa Ana and Lago Coatepeque were spectacular! The food at Asado was very good (and for a good price) - I ate the churrasco. Thank you Francis for a five star experience! Would recommend him to everyone - his knowledge about the history, landscape, wildlife, culture, etc. was extensive and fascinating. Also, speaks very good English (as well as spanish and French).

Francis is an amazing companion on this moderate hike, with deep insights, anecdotes and interesting facts along the way. If you're lucky you'll very likely spot a couple of the native wildlife along the walk (which he will keenly detect and give you an opportunity to see). The soda-pops sold at the top of the volcanic crater are absolutely delicious (beware I gave myself an ice cream headache because it was so good)
He is extremely accomodating and will take care of your needs along the hike. Afterwards, he'll take you to a restaurant (highly recommend the cocktel de conches!) with an incredible view of a giant, extinct volcanic crater, now turned into a gorgeous lake-retreat, with waterfront bars, restaurants, hotels and beaches.

El Salvador Positive Tours was wonderful! I had the pleasure of having Josue as my tour guide. He was hands down the absolute best. He was so sweet, friendly and accommodating. He speaks both English and Spanish which was helpful for me because I only understand a few things in Spanish. He took great photos of me throughout the hike at Santa Ana Volcano. He was so patient with me stopping whenever I needed a break. He then took me to a restaurant at Lake Coatepeque where he took even more pictures and videos of me riding the jet ski. Words cannot express how amazing of a tour guide he was. He made he feel so comfortable as if we were friends. I recommend El Salvador Positive Tours 100%. The best experience ever. I will never forget this vacation.

The views from the top of Santa Ana volcano were amazing with tourquise water in the crater and lake in the distance. The hike up took us around an hour but we were going a lot faster than others. This being a private tour allows you to go at your own pace and leave early enough to avoid the crowds which is great. We then had lunch at a lakeside restaurant where you could swim and mingle with locals coming for family day trips.
Our guide Dio was fantastic. He was very knowledgable and gave us lots of insight into the history and culture of El Salvador.
