I did 2 tours, one about meditation and one about the life at the temple. I enjoyed so much the first that I came back for the second. The guide was very kind and answered all my questions.

I should have done this years ago. It was super easy to organise and is by far one of the best tours I have done. I learned so much, but without being lectured. There were so many personal insights shared - I saw a completely different perspective.

It was amazing to learn so much about the Buddhism culture in Luang Prabang. It was super informative and all questions were answered. The local Monk in the temple we were at also was welcoming and invited our group to join the evening prayers later that day. If you have the time to do both meditation and the tour, you need to do it.

This was a super informative two hour experience. We got a crash course of the lifestyle and philosophy and history of Theravada Buddhist monks. We particularly appreciated our guide sharing his personal experiences with this tradition and the meditation sampler practice he led us through in the temple. This was a memorable experience in Luang Prabang I would highly recommend to visitors.

This tour is a MUST DO while in Luang Prabang - our family of 4 absolutely loved it! ur guide Si shared wonderful insights about Buddhism, his own experiences as a Novice, and answered all of our many questions. Our time spent with him learning to meditate while in the temple was an experience we'll never forget - even our 2 teenagers were able to sit patiently through the experience (about 30 minutes total between 3 different types of meditation that he taught). The Orange Robe tour really enhanced our time in Laos by providing us with a deeper understanding of Buddhism and the temples. Thank you Si - we are so grateful!

We were a small group of 3 and had an amazing time with our very friendly guide, who took us on a tour at a temple in the historic district. He is a former novize and told us a lot about buddhism and shared his experience. We could ask everything and he was happy to answer our questions. All of us had booked the guided meditation afterwards, which was also a very nice experience at the temple. I can highly recommend this tour and this company.

Our guide (Si?) was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the general idea behind budism as well as the much more complicated levels etc. He used good analogies to make things easier for us to understand. What I liked brst was the opportunity to ask any and every question I had on the topic. He was open to any questions we had. I am glad I took the tour and the following meditation class.

Our tour has been a highlight of our trip so far! It was incredibly enlightening to hear of the inner workings of life as a monk/novice, and our tour guide was brilliant- patiently answering all of our questions with great detail. The guided meditation was great- we left feeling very peaceful!

Such a beautiful experience. It was amazing to learn about buddhism from a former novice. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Luang Prabang. We really enjoyed meeting our guide, hearing his person story and learning from him directly about Buddhism, the daily lives and practices of monks, and then experiencing three forms of peaceful meditation.

Fantastic experience and insight from a former student of the religion. We got to ask all the questions we ever wanted and understand what buddism is all about. So friendly and relaxed, this is a must for anyone visiting the area.

We really loved our guided meditation. Our guide was really friendly, stayed well over our 1h to chat about everything and anything to do with the Buddhist religion and monks life. The meditation was so peaceful in the temple and we were taught all the ways in which monks meditate each morning. Would highly recommend for anyone wishing to find out more about the country and religion!

We were lucky to spend 2 hours with delightful former monk, Te, doing an introduction to Buddhism and then practising meditation. Te speaks excellent English and explained the basic tenets of Buddhism, the structure of the temple buildings, as well as discussing the life of a novice monk. We then spent an hour doing seated, walking and standing meditation. Te was very patient and helpful and happy to answer endless questions. I would highly recommend this tour, as Orange Robe Tours work to support and educate former monks and provide them with pathways in the world outside the Temples.

We are so grateful for this tour! My husband and I are visiting Laos for a few weeks. We are both interested in buddhism and beginners in meditation. What better way to deepen our understanding than this! Our guide, who used to live in the monastery, gave us a comprehensive and interesting tour on temple life and what being a monk means. It gave us confidence to explore wats throughout the country and even sit it in on chanting and meditation. It has led to some beautiful experiences and we have met wonderful monks along the way. Wonderful unique, local and interesting experince! We finally feel confident and comfortable enough visiting temples during the chanting and meditation in a respectful way. Tae is a local guy who has spent many years in the temple. He will answer all your questions and teach you the basics about Buddhism in Laos while also giving you a tour around the temple area and explain what each part/building is for, what some are decorations are symbolizing and how to act respectfully when visiting the temples. I really recommend this!
