Absolutely excellent expereince! My partner and I had a private 1/2 day expereince where we were treated to a morning trip to a local market with not a tourist in sight! Sang was excellent at explaining all the local foods and market etiquette, such an interesting expereince! Following this we had a tour of the family compound and then an extended and detailed cooking lesson followed by an excellent meal of our creation afterwards.
I have to say, this is probably the most genuione expereince I have had in Bali, it felt local, real and not toursity which is sometimes hard to find in Bali since the tourism market is so big. Sang and his family were welcoming, friendly and good fun during the whole process. I would highly recommend the expereince since it is not only an infomrative introduction to Balinese cusine and cooking but also a great insight into local and traditional Balinese life, market, family and culutre.
Highly recommended, we particularly enjoyed having it as a private couples class. Thank you Sang and team!

My partner and I had the most wonderful experience with this family. You cook the tastiest freshest food in the a beautiful tranquil environment which their home. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Balinese cultural day out, finishing with a happy fully tummy.

Our first time in Bali, we wanted to immerse ourselves in Balinese culture and a cooking class was the perfect way to do so. Lobong Culinary Experience exceeded all our expectations as it was more than just a cooking class. Sang is such a friendly and charismatic host who took us to the local market to check out the produce and learn about the ingredients. We were one of the few tourists since Bali reopened so it was fun to see what a local celebrity Sang was in the market. Afterwards, we were welcomed to Sang's family compound, which was absolutely immaculate and beautiful, where we learned about the local family traditions. Everyone was so warm and hospitable, we felt like we were home. The cooking class itself was incredible with chef Dewa guiding and teaching us the proper ways to cook rice (steam not boil) along with creating other wonderful dishes that were full of flavor. At the end of it, they gave us a recipe book that we will put to practice when we go back home. We have nothing but great things to say about this cooking class.

This class is amazing! People are friendly and take the time to teach you about Balinese culture, religion, family, and food. It is a very intimate experience learning and cooking in a family home compound. Touring through the market was an awesome experience. My husband and I enjoyed every second. Learning the authentic Balinese recipes was wonderful. Plus there was SOOO much food! Come hungry! This has been a highlight of our 3 week trip to Bali.

This was THE best cooking class i have ever taken. Our host sang made was so experienced and knowledgeable about balinese culture. He taught us so much that we didnt know. His english is impeccable. Everyone there was extremely professional and organized. We had such a wonderful time! Would reccomend to anyone who wants to have a traditional Balinese cooking class

Fantastic experience..from beginning to end!
Morning at local markets to purchase produce back to traditional family compound for coffee and banana fritters before begain our cooking.
Learnt so much not only about traditional Balanese cooking but also their way of life and traditions.

It’s really not just only a cooking class, it’s an experience! We had an amazing morning with Sang, you MUST go there is you visit Ubud!! We went to the market in the morning, then we were warmly welcomed in Sang’s house and cooked for a couple of hours before having an excellent meal. He’s going to tell you everything about the culture in Bali and the food, and you can ask him anything: he’ll be more than welcome to answer. He and his family are the most sweetest people we ever met!!! Please go there if you have the chance to!! 🙏🏻😍

What an amazing, professional, excellent and truly local experience this was. From the start to the end, myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I learnt more about the culture of Bali even though I have travelled there several times before. Our host, Sande, is easy to understand, very knowledgeable and great fun. If you want a truly authentic Bali cooking experience then this is the only cooking class you should attend. Absolutely wonderful.

My wife and I had a truly fabulous time. Made was just amazing. He speaks excellent English, helpful for us with a poor command of Bahasa Indonesian. His family were very welcoming at their beautiful home. We were taken to a most interesting local market. Then we were taken through the cooking stages at a pace that matched our skill level. All explanations were clear and the purpose of each step was outlined. The meal was absolutely delicious and we ate in a gorgeous setting. We have been to a number of cooking classes in other countries but this was far and above the best. Made carefully tied everything we did in with its relationship with Balinese culture. We learnt so much and had an amazing time.

This cooking classed surpassed all my expectations. The host Sang made was very welcoming and friendly after picking us up and doing a tour of the local market. A very engaging morning as he asks questions and answers them for you about the local Balinese culture and traditions.
The compound was absolutely beautiful and clean the chef was also very friendly and polite throughout the session we thoroughly enjoyed this day and would recommend to anyone!
Please attend and you will not regret it, such an excellent Authentic Balinese experience!
