Worth the time, good value and fun!
Fun time learning how to cook some of the basic Indonesian foods (MieGoreng, Chicken Satay, peanut sauce, curry and tuna wrapped in banana leaves). Everything was fresh! The head chef (Marty?) was knowledgeable and humorous. Overall, a very positive experience.

      Authentic cooking class
A really fun cooking class. Beautiful fresh ingredients, a clean environment and utensils. Lots of demonstrations and extra hands around for help as and when needed. It was fun to use the giant pestle and mortar and the food at the end was so delicious. All the people are kind and friendly and I never felt excluded being on my own.

Don’t miss out on the best cooking class in Bali!
Best cooking class my husband and I have ever been to! Ketut and his family took great care of us ensuring seamless booking (through WhatsApp) transport to the market and cooking school and home and of course cooking experience. We learned how to make all our favorite Balinese dishes - peanut satay and mie goreng (among many other dishes) and will be able to try these recipes again at home.

      A great morning at Ketut’s
This was a fun and delicious experience. We were able to customise the flavors of our own meals which was great since my husband likes it spicy and I don’t. Food was delicious and Ketuts family was very welcoming.

Family friendly. Gluten free options. Funny and tasty
Ketut is hilarious. Driver was prompt and with great English. Had us all heavily involved in the markets. Short trip to the outdoor kitchen. Himself, family and staff were great and accommodating helping my two young kids (6&9) cook while I did too. They catered for gluten free also which was great

What an experience, from the markets explanations to the cooking. Cannot recommend enough, my gf had bali belly from our escapades the day before. And they took such good care of her too. Beautiful, funny people. Loved it.

Would recommend! Fun for the whole family!
Well organised tour! Ketut was very responsive on WhatsApp when we were booking. They picked us up from our villa, and took us to the market and we had an informative tour around the stalls. We then went to Ketut’s kitchen and everything was well presented and clean. Our cooking teacher was engaging and enthusiastic. We cooked some amazing food, and everything was portioned up for us to prepare. It was really hands on, and we got to learn new skills. The food was beautiful, our teens had fun, would definitely recommend!!

Ketut is a real character with a passion for his cooking. We had a quick trip to the market where we tasted fruits and learned about some spices and ginger. We headed out to his well equipped kitchen where there were plenty of staff to assist with preparation and cooking. The total group was 21 which was a lot more than I anticipated and we were in two kitchens, each with our own area. If you’re looking for an intimate cooking experience this is not for you. It was pouring rain so by the time the food was taken from the kitchen to dining area it was all cold. That was disappointing. I suggest having stools under the tables in the kitchen for when the weather is bad so that we can eat in the kitchen whilst the food is hot.

The chef wittily leads the cooking class and gives instructions in a friendly and easy way. The staff are kind and quick to help us prepare between other menu, so it's easy to follow a variety of dishes. If you come to Bali, I highly recommend you to try this cooking class.

What an amazing experience! Ketut and his team were simply delightful. Our trip to the markets first was great and our driver was the perfect guide. Then back to Ketut’s for a thoroughly entertaining cooking experience. Ketut guided us through each step before we started cooking at our own mini kitchen. All dirty dishes magically disappeared and new ingredients for each stage also appeared as if by magic. Ketut had us constantly in stitches with his infectious laugh and his obvious passion for his job was heart warming. If in Ubud you must do this!! You can thank me later! 😊

This cooking class is a great experience! I did the morning tour which included a walkthrough the market which was very interesting. The cooking school is located away from the center of Ubud, and I actually really enjoyed the ride there - felt like another mini-tour to see the area.

The class itself was very well organized with good tools/equipment and enough staff to keep things moving very smoothly. Our chef had great energy and explained things really clearly, even offering substitutions we could make at home and relating the Balinese ingredients or techniques to that of other cuisines.

We prepared 4 dishes, 2 sauces and they added rice and a local dessert to round out our meal. I left full and wasn't even hungry for dinner!

I had a great time cooking then eating delicious traditional balinese dishes. Our chef, Made, was very cheerful and helped everyone when needed, giving explanations and a demonstration for every step of the way. Walking around the morning market was also very nice, with great explanations and some sample of local products.

Ketut and his family were a joy to meet. The kitchens were clean and professionally set up, with all the ingredients and cooking utensils ready for us when we arrived. Each person made four savoury dishes and one dessert. The food was delicious and Ketut explained each step clearly and with a huge smile throughout. Our driver was on time to collect us from the hotel and drove us safely to the market and then to the kitchens.
I highly recommend taking part in Ketut's family cooking class when you visit Ubud.

This is an excellent experience, a must do in Ubud. Ketut and his family do an excellent job of teaching you but also allowing you enough time and space to get hands on and cater your food to how you like it. You learn so many recipes, and it's an absolute blast. I'll be coming back. Cannot recommend this enough for foodies! I also really recommend going in the morning to check out the market and also cooking in the morning is better instead of the hot afternoon!

Did some research for cooking classes before coming to Bali, and picked Ketut’s cooking class based on the great reviews. I have to say that this was a great choice.

Our driver (our teacher’s nephew) picked us up from Nusa Dua area in the early morning and took us to the market before going to the cooking class. He introduced what ingredients will be used in the class, and also showed us what was commonly used in Balinese dishes. Then he took us to the place where the cooking classes were held.

Our teacher and his family were all very professional. We were first shown the menu of what we were going to make, and the teacher would then teach us to how to make each dish/sauce. The process was very smooth, and the teacher and his family members were always around to make sure everything is ok. Our table was always organized and never messy.

The best part of this class is that we do all the cooking by ourselves, not just the teacher doing a demo for us. My teenagers really enjoyed the class, and our lunch was really delicious as it was all cooked by ourselves.

If anyone is looking for a cooking class in the Ubud area, I would strongly recommend this one. I have tried other cooking classes in Bali before, and I have to say my family really enjoyed this one.
