    UMESEKO TOUR
    Stop: 3 hours
Your guide will welcome you at Hida-Hagiwara station, and show some instruction of tour first. The total walking length is just 2km and there are 5 or more stops such as the historical shrine, local shops and a cafe. All food we offer on the tour are local specialty, and the tour guide will explain the story or the connection to actual local lives at each spot. Surprisingly, you will have a special experience to visit the sake brewery and the old miso shop to learn the way to make, and enjoy tasting the difference of flavors. Another highlight of tour is interactions with local people. During the tour, you can meet some locals and the guide will also help you have a friendly chat with them. Those conversations will make you feel the warmth of local town and understand the real lives of countryside that you cannot experience at major touristy places. This is not just a food walking tour but touching and sophisticated cultural experience. *Foods and shops may differ according to day.

The local food tour with Dai-san was absolutely fantastic. It was off the beaten tourist track which is something I've always enjoyed doing when exploring a new place in Japan. Dai-san was very informative and professional throughout the tour. He took us to a local miso and

Dear Chris, Thank you so much for your kindness to post your thought about the local food walking tour in the small countryside town. I spent a great afternoon with you. Thanks for coming. Japan has a variety of unique culture we should not miss out. The more you know, the more you want to see more, and which lead you to a next journey. I am so honored you picked us this time and loved everything you saw, heard and felt during the tour. I know you still want to come back to Japan, which also makes me happy. Thanks for joining us again. Warm Regards, Dai

More than a food tour, this is a tour of a beautiful small town with an excellent guide who clearly loves it. You will learn about local history and produce (eg I learned that most miso in Japan is not made from soybeans), and sample some of the town’s specialties including a

Dear Matt, Thanks for coming despite the terrible weather condition and giving us such a lovely comment. It was an unforgettable day ever for me. I also really enjoyed the time with you. So glad to hear that you loved the local shops we visited during the tour. We are proud of their products of course but as you say, their hospitality and generosity always satisfy our guests. That was our pleasure to take you to the local restaurant. If you have a second chance to visit the Hida region, we will gladly welcome you to the bike tour. Hope you will remember the time you spent here with tasting sake. Warm Regards, Daisuke

Dear Sam, Thanks for your time to write a great review about our food walking tour. That was my pleasure. I also had a really good time with you in the peaceful town. We are sure that the small town is worth visiting to experience the local culture and take a rest from busy cities. You are the best person who should take this opportunity, which made us more proud of showing you around the countryside town. Personally, nice talking with you. I will never forget the conversation about the way to lead a better life. When you have a chance to visit Japan next time, hope you will explore some more peaceful places. Warm Regards, Daisuke
