- rebeccamY6283EF0 contributionsExcellent trip!Absolutely brilliant boat trip through the mangrove forest! Our guide Masyi was so knowledgeable and friendly, it’s clear that she and the company care a lot about preserving the beautiful area. I would definitely recommend this tour!Written 17 January 2025
- 986margusv0 contributionsGood stuff!Beautiful and calm boat ride in mangrove forest with great, friendly and informative guide Azri. - Objectivetraveller220 contributionsAmazing bike tour!Masyi was an amazing guide who took us through the Langkawai countryside on an outstanding bike tour. She was very kind and knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the island. The tour was well organised from start to finish and is suitable for people of all fitness levels. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who is thinking of doing it! It was a unique experience and we really enjoyed our journey with Masyi.Written 9 January 2025
- Dream6002460 contributionsAmazing tour! Would recommend. The mangrove tour was so good. The host was interesting and knowledgeable about the mangrove and the nature. We appreciated his enthusiasm and humour. The tour was considerate to the wildlife and plants. No monkey feeding or bird feeding allowed which was great as this upsets the environment and animals natural habitat. I would recommend jungle walla for this tour!Written 8 January 2025
- DanielR950 contributionsExcellent & interesting cruiseReally good trip through mangrove and rock formations of this corner of Langkawi. Very interesting and informative guide telling us about the forest, rock formations, river and wildlife.Written 8 January 2025
- applejess0 contributionsEducational and safeOur guide Francis was very organised and knowledgeable. It's like a mini-national geographic tour overall. He would share with us the importance of mangroves, point to us the different animal species that we can spot, etc. He had a great chemistry with the boatman, giving clear signals where to stop so he could share some stories. Boatman was very professional and steady. He did not speed like the others, and we felt very safe throughout. Recommended!Written 6 January 2025
- oztaps0 contributionsExcellent, scenic and safeGreat tour lead, boat ride and sights. Family really enjoyed it, would do it again. Thanks to the tour operators for being in close contact beforehand to answer questions we had.Written 1 January 2025
- 8246joeg0 contributionsGreat, Laidback Guide!Masyi is a fantastic guide. Very personable and perfect English. Weather was great. The water was not crowded. Pregnant Maiden lake is a great place to swim!Written 30 December 2024
- 390sued0 contributionsGreat company for tours - eco friendly and knowledgeableA fabulous trip with a wonderful guide who was very interesting and informative and knew so much about the eco park. Was very environmentally conscious which we appreciated as we saw other boats letting tourists feed the monkeys and then take plastic bags and chip packets into the pristine environment. Very poor behaviour. Highly recommend this tour and this company for other tours.Written 29 December 2024
- ajitw20150 contributionsGood experience but choice of snorkelling spots needs to be betterWe went for this cruise with Afeez who was very courteous and informative. The visit to the mangrove forest and the bat cave was really exciting. However, the snorkelling experience was not so great as the water at the cove we went to was very murky and there were no clear views underwater. Overall a good experience of beautiful Langkawi!Written 28 December 2024
- W9783UZalexk0 contributionsAn incredible tour - a unique experience that I will not forgetWhat an incredible experience. The tour was very informative and interesting - we saw eagles, bats, Kites, Kingfishers, snakes, monkeys and lizard to name a few! Learning about the mangroves was also fascinating. Our tour guide, Azri did a fantastic job of answering any questions asked by the group. Cannot recommend this tour enough.Written 25 December 2024

- Trail179143736310 contributionsThank you MaysiWe had a fantastic experience. Maysi was a very knowledgeable tour guide and presented the information in a fun and engaging way. The company seems very environmentally ethical and we liked that they don’t feed the animals. - Sightseer461512365280 contributionsAwesome boat safari at LangkawiThis eco tour is filled with loads of great views along with informed guide.Understood a lot about mangroove and it's habitat. Company practices sustainable tourism and I truly appreciate their cause. Eg. Not feeding Kites and monkey A must do experience at Langkawi.Written 29 November 2024
- Mobile528430121280 contributionsGreat tour and no animal feeding! We went to the UNESCO geoforest tour and it was well planned trip! Our guide Masyi told us lots of interesting information about the mangrove trees, the ecosystem and the problems with animal feeding. We were happy to book a tour that did not do the animal feeding. It was a nice small group and we got to see snakes, lizards, crabs, eagles, monkeys and walking fish!Written 22 November 2024

Our guide could not have been better. She was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and absolutely incredible eyesight. She not only found all of the birds we saw but knew their Latin names & behavior. We saw a group of 10 Great Hornbills, a similar number of Pied Hornbills, the Racketed Drongo, 5 types of Kingfishers, Nesting Eagles and so much more. We visited at least 8 ecosystems that I can recall. I can’t imagine going without touring with JungleWalla. I had torn a tendon before arriving in Malaysia and they accommodated me beautifully. We actually did 2 mornings of Birdwatching. I contacted JungleWalla before arriving on Langkawi and they suggested we try for the morning after we arrived and if the weather didn’t agree they were flexible with time of day and days . It all worked out beautifully - they hit nearly every bird on my list - twitchers dream.

A truly excellent tour, seeing birds in different enviroments - riverside, lake, paddyfield and mountains. Venosha was an outstanding guide with an impressive ability to detect birds, instantly identify the species and discriminate male, female or juvenile. A perfect, exciting 4hrs for us beginners during which we noted 26 different birds. 8x42 binoculars and water provided. Venosha is so enthusiastic and loves her eco-friendly work. We thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone from beginner to expert. Thank you Venosha.

We went on the morning tour, but it's not available for separate review.
We really enjoyed our morning bird watching tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Malaysia! Our guide Afie was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She was especially good at helping us pinpoint the birds - some guides just point, but she really made an effort to give us specific directions to find things. She also created an atmosphere where we felt confident pointing out things we saw, even if they turned out not to be birds. Even amateur birdwatchers can get a lot out of the tour.
We saw over 30 different types of birds. Afie provided a paper checklist so we could keep track of what we saw, so I recommend taking a pen or pencil so you can tick them off.
The van took us to at least four different locations where we got out and looked around. There was some gentle walking required, but nothing strenuous. Sometimes the paths were a little muddy, so I'd recommend sturdy trainers or walking boots if there's been rain.
Highly recommended, especially with Afie!

Today we joined the bird watching tour by JungleWalla. Our guide Afie was fantastic, an absolute wealth of knowledge with a keen eye pointing out a large variety of birds with a special highlight being a family of Giant Hornbills their distinctive calls will remain with us forever.
Among many other birds and animals we spotted the Green pigeon, orange-bellied flowerpecker, Racket Tailed Drongo and the Dusky Leaf Monkey.
We would highly recommend this tour.

Very well organised tour to fit hot weather conditions. First looking around paddyfields and then up Gunung Raya to see forest birds. Venosha, our guide, was simply superb - knowledgable and expert with razor-sharp eyes! She was very articulate in her explanations, able to pitch to first-timers and experienced hands alike. We saw all 3 hornbills as well as a host of other species. It’s a great way to spend 4 hours as you see birds (and some mammals) as well as discover different parts of the island. I’ve done a few guided trips over the decades and Venosha ranks very highly in expertise and professionalism.

We had a great experience sighting birds on our final day in Langkawi with Junglewalla. Our guide Afie was very welcoming and knowledgeable. She took us to the best spots on the island for mangrove and rainforest bird watching and we spotted over 20 species in 4 hours. We saw all three species of the famous hornbills in a single location and Afie deserves special credit for bringing us there.
Junglewalla team's pick up and drop service + accessories (binoculars) were very good too.
I would recommend this to any nature lover who visits Langkawi for a relaxing time in nature. My wife and I enjoyed this experience tremendously.

Had a lovely afternoon despite the rain. Venosha was a very friendly & knowledgable guide. We saw various egrets, herons, kingfishers, a peregrine, dusky leaf monkeys, macaques, monitor lizards, squirrels. The driver was very patient at the various stops we made. It was also good to see something of the different ecosystems on Langkawi.

Extremely highly recommended. We saw a wide variety of birds, uncluding a red-eyed bulbul, golden oriole, collared kingfisher, white bellied sea eagles, a pied hornbill, a coucal, reef egrets. The Greater Hornbill, we saw for long enough for Afie, our guide, to establish that it was female, and for us to get the photo (attached) of the bird in flight.
Afie was great, extremely knowledgeable about the creatures we saw, other wildlife on the island, the UNESCO protection of the island, ecology generally.
