Trek of a Lifetime..do not hesitate to go!
WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT -- the best experience we had in Malaysia. I came to Malaysia with the wife on honeymoon, and we done all the things the top 10 'must do lists' when you visit Malaysia...Twin Towers (overrated), bird park, markets etc...but the highlight was this once in a lifetime trek. It started off early morning 6am and our tour provider Ben kindly pushed this back 30 mins so we could pray before setting out, further impressing us on how culturally accepting the country and its people are. We took a scenic drive to an authentic Malaysian breakfast place where the tour guide chose an assortment of incredible Malaysian dishes. It tasted amazing and the knowledge Ben has about the food/produce and how its made was extremely impressive. Perfect English and a real warming personality. Although i would of loved to stay there the whole day (food was to die for!), we carried on and reached the point at the start of the trek.... Beautiful landscape - feels like heaven on Earth and you are cut off from all your troubles and worries! I really would love to go into details on a minute by minute tour log about how amazing it was, but i honestly don't want to ruin it for you! It truly was an amazing experience and I URGE you, if you come to Malaysia, put this at the top of your must do list! Amazing trails, views, waterfalls...You will love Ben and create the best of memories in such a lovely country. (p.s. They kindly take photos for you whilst on the trek so you don't have to worry about selfies too much and provide you a dropbox with all the photos. Me and the wife received this from our trip but foolishly did not download it and when we went back to the email, the link had expired! Ben being the greatest human being on Earth! (lol)...kindly waded through historical photos and managed to send us the photos again so we did not miss out on our memories...he truly will go above and beyond to make you enjoy this experience. Thank you Ben - our honeymoon in Malaysia was incredible and your passion really shone through. We will always have fond memories of our trip and will never stop promoting your Trek with anyone we come across that is going to Malaysia..maybe we will see you again on a future wedding anniversary holiday? :P

      Quick climb for the view
Started before dawn as we wished to watch the sun rise from the top. Got lost several times in the dark as paths not that clearly marked for night walking. Some steep parts with ropes that could do with a replacement...but we made it. I was the only person over 50 everyone else was 35 or less best be fit for this one. The views were spectacular and wonderful lake with mist and sun rise was outstanding sight. Down was a slippery process but we laughed a lot as I got covered in clay at one point. Did Tai chi once on the flat and stretched out those muscles

      Incredible!
We visited in early December for a business trip. The 5 of us had an open day and Amos was glad to take us on. He clearly communicated what to expect, which certainly got us started off in the right foot. From the local breakfast, to the stunning jungle/mountain views, this trek was phenomenal! Amos was so informative and accommodating! We had an amazing time and I HIGHLY recommend!!!

      Highly Recommend the Jungle Trek
This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had - Amos was a hospitable, knowledgeable, and an all around incredible tour guide. I wouldn’t hesitate a second to book another tour with him if I ever find myself coming to KL again. Just a hands down phenomenal experience!!

      Fantastic experience. So worth it!
I sent an enquiry to OpenSkyUnlimited and Ben responded promptly. Once I confirmed my dates, he sent me detailed itinerary of the trips and what to bring for both the Dragon Back Trek & Back Country Cycling trip. So I was very clear on what to expect and came well prepared. The Dragon Back Trek was quite challenging at some points but Ben is very patient and calm in guiding us on how to overcome the difficulty. It was a real work out to reach the top of the ridge but the view is so worth it. I definitely received more satisfaction from this panoramic view of the city then the one from the top of the Petronas Twin Towers. It was such a clear day that we can even see the resorts on Genting Highlands!! Overall, it was a fantastic experience. One which I'd willingly do again! By the way, the package includes meals! After the trek and cycle, Ben brought us to charming places for authentic local food. A tasty conclusion to an awesome experience!

Breathtaking nature, perfect use of a free day or short visit
We wanted to do some hiking during a free weekend in Kuala Lumpur, but didn’t know where to go or how to plan. Amos picked us up at the hotel, brought us to a delicious breakfast place in a small village and then we continued on deep into the rainforest. The trek was about 12km, with a waterfall swim at 6km which was really refreshing given the heat. The trail was relatively deserted most of the time with only a handful of hikers/locals, so not crowded. Amos is passionate and knowledgeable about the area and the different wildlife and was really supportive of everyone in the group and prepared with extra supplies if needed. The hike itself was appropriately challenging for someone of average fitness involving a bit of up/downhills and careful bouldering around the waterfall. The Chinese place he took us to for lunch after was delicious as well! All in all it exceeded my expectations and was the perfect way to spend a free day outside of the city in nature, in a place I would have never found or attempted to navigate alone. My only regret is not having more time to go on another trek!

      Customized Gunung Ansi trail path
Two years after my previous treks with Amos, I now had the pleasure to visit Malaysia again. This time, my hotel was located South of KL but Amos was so kind to arrange a trek in this area. He suggested the Gunung Ansi trail path which really ticked all of the boxes: * pick-up from my hotel on time (if Amos says 7 am, it's 7 am); * safe drive to the starting point; * excellent hike up to Gunung Ansi, a real morning work-out; * great views and primary forest; * snacks and fruit along the way; * extra water if needed; * care and adjustment of speed where needed; * trek down to the other side of the mountain, incl a 2 km long, 30% descend; * refreshing river and waterfall; * sore muscles :-) Coming at the end of the trail at the other side of the mountain, Amos arranged to pick up the car and safely brought me back to my hotel but not after a very good local lunch. A fully customized tour for which I was very grateful. This is the type of organization you can rely on ! Excellent !!!

      Superb jungle waterfall trek.
Amos collected us right on time and drove us out for breakfast at a restaurant near the start of the trek. This is another bonus of using Open Sky Unlimited - he ordered the food for us which was brilliant and allowed us to sample authentic local foods. The trek itself was fascinating. Amos's knowledge of the natural history of the place was superb and really enhanced the experience. So many interesting things to take in! The trail is in excellent condition and perfect for walking. Amos made sure we kept at a comfortable pace and so none of us ever felt pressured into going too fast. The waterfall was perfect for cooling ourselves down after the gentle climb. He even took us behind the curtain of water and made sure we were safe at all times. Quite brilliant!! We pre-booked two treks with Open Sky Unlimited before we travelled and really felt like we struck gold. Communication was superb before we left and we knew exactly what to pack for our trips. We've done many guided walks/treks in other parts of the world before but can't remember a time where we'd felt so well looked after. Amos's attention to detail and making sure we were always comfortable made the experience outstanding. He even brought a pop-up tent so we could change comfortably after the trek! We would not hesitate to recommend this company to others and would use again ourselves. A genuinely outstanding outfit.

Challenging trek to Bukit Kutu, KKB
It is adventurous to trek through the tropical jungle inclusive of walking through streams/creeks and muddy tracks as well as climbing continuous steep track. It took a few hours to reach the hill top where there was a retreat house and hill top tennis play ground for the British colonizers. At top hill, the challenge continues by climbing to the top of a few big boulders. We enjoyed so much with this trip and had a prepared lunch snack by our excellent guide, Amos. Amos is the best in guiding for the challenging trekking. He is meticulous and cares for tourists. He led and showed us where to place our right and left foot in the area of soft/muddy surface. His knowledge of the route and trekking skills are extraordinary. We were impressed with his arrangement for our meals at local restaurant, in particular, breakfast at Indian restaurant and late lunch at Chinese restaurant. We strongly recommend Amos for any jungle trekking around Kuala Lumpur. Amos is the master professional guide. We were impressed and appreciated his highest calibre in trekking guides. He is simply second to none. We have full confidence in his trekking and guiding capability. If one is a fan of jungle trekking, please consider engaging Amos of Kuala Lumpur. His open sky unlimited agent stands ready for any tourists.

      Incredible day exploring!
I've done both the Dragonback Trek and Jungle waterfall trek with Amos, and both times have had an amazing day! Amos is knowledgable, friendly, accommodating and certainly makes sure you don't go hungry with the delicious food I had as part of my tour. He makes sure the pace is right for you, and stops for plenty of pictures along the way if you wish. Beautiful scenery, views and waterfall make the day even more special. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back for another trek!

      Excellent trek and guide
Amos was outstanding in his service and his knowledge. Definitely a great thing to do to get out of the city and enjoy a bit of time in nature. The waterfall was everything it was cracked up to be.

Great trek, if a bit hazy
I enjoy a good challenge when hiking, and this did not disappoint! As a 54 yr old female solo traveler, I appreciated Amos’ pre-hike preparation, as well as his description of various plants and geologic formations. He was extremely communicative and allowed for plenty of shirt breaks to catch a breath. I especially appreciated the photos he took of us while climbing (it was more ladder-like climbing than hiking). I appreciated having an opportunity to change shirts before heading to a delicious Malaysian brunch afterwards too! I would certainly recommend this adventure to anyone who enjoys doing what locals do. Thank you!!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This was truly the highlight of our trip to KL. For starters, Amos was a terrific guide, very friendly, knowledgeable and took great care of us, making sure to point out steep or narrow areas, ant hills, or anything that might be a danger. The trek itself was amazing, not too short or too long, and it was the perfect amount of challenging. We saw monkeys swinging in the trees on the way up, beautiful quartz pieces scattered along the way, and the best part... the views from the top! The city of KL to one side, and the Malaysian jungle to the other. It really was magical. Afterwards Amos took us to lunch at a local spot where we got to learn more about Malaysian cuisine and try some delicious foods we never would have thought to try. Thank you Amos for an amazing afternoon, one we will remember forever!

A friend suggested we do the dragon back trek whilst on our short trip to KL and it was absolutely worth it. 360° panoramic views of the beautiful forest, lake and city are simply mind blowing. Along with a couple of monkeys making an appearance.

The trek is followed by some brunch. The food is incredible and not to be missed!

Our guide Ben was incredibly friendly, helpful and kind. Happily taking photos and passing on interesting facts about this spectacular part of the world.

    I cannot recommend this enough.

I had a wonderful morning hosted by trekking guide, Amos. The trek up the mountain was challenging in a fun and comfortable way. Beautiful views and Amos was kind enough to take pictures for me. After the trek, we visited a mamak (24 hour local restaurant) and had delicious breakfast. Highly recommend! Amos is a great hiking companion.

This was a highlight of our trip to KL for my girlfriend and I. The trek was great, views from the too were beautiful, the group we were with were a lot of fun, and Amos was a great guide. He was always attentive, making sure everyone was safe, ready to go on, and he was knowledgeable about any questions we had. The breakfast we had post-trek was delicious as well and Amos did a fantastic job, again, of explaining the different foods.

Definitely recommend trekking with Open Sky if you're ever in KL. If I make a trip back to KL, I'll definitely be doing the other hike they offer.

This was such an amazing experience. This is also perfect for someone who doesn't want to do the INTENSE hiking, yet still want something a little challenging, adventurous, and fun. The whole hike was about 2.5- 3 hours. Our tour guide, Amos was amazing. He was great with communication. He picked me up from my hotel at exactly the time he said he would. You do a lot of climbing, meaning you use all your hands and feet. Amos provided us with gloves so our hands don't get dirty. He also took pictures for us along the way. The views you get are absolutely gorgeous. Along the way Amos would explain different types of plants and the origins of certain places. Afterwards, we all went down and had a delicious brunch. You don't want to miss this. At one point of the hike, there is moment where you stand on the ridge. To your left you see the jungle, and to your right you see the city of Kuala Lumpur. It's breathtaking.

We had a really fantastic trip with Amos. He was really communicative ahead of the trek and picked us up on time before taking us for an epic walk. The views were unreal and the brunch after was really excellent. He also added on a trip to Batu Caves which was a good stop. Can't recommend the dragon's back trek enough - thanks again!

We booked this as we love hiking and the reviews were great! We are so happy we did! We had the best time hiking the Dragons back ridge and Amos our guide was simply wonderful.

The hike itself was picturesque, challenging in parts but with the help of Amos the whole group made it up to the third peak and the views were breathtaking. We managed some amazing photos and were so happy we could hike so close to the city along this brilliant track.

Escape the city vibe and take a morning out to join Amos on his tour, you wont be disappointed. Also breakfast after the hike was one of the nicest we have tried. Having a local to show us all the cool spots was such an invaluable experience! Thank you!

Just a wow experience. We decided to seek for some nature after some busy days in the city. We woke up early in the morning and Amos (tourguide) picked us up from the hotel. The first impression was very nice and warm.

Amos took good care of us while climbing and walking the steep rocks. Every now and then he told us during the hike a nice fact about a certain tree or animal. During the hike we had multiple stops to enjoy the view and oh man the view was soooo f*cking nice.

Besides the trek Amos told us during the hike a lot about Malaysia, like the culture, the people, history and more. We learned a lot about the country during this hike.

    Once again thanks Amos!
