Fabulous way to see the Cameron Highlands
We were lucky to be the only two on this tour so we had a great time. Patrick our driver/ guide was very knowledgable and friendly. We learnt lots about daily life etc in Malaysia as we drove along comparing all aspects to life in Britain. The tea plantation was beautiful and we also stopped at a Strawberry farm , butterfly farm and a Buddhist Temple. It is a long day and the windy road up to the Highlands is not for those who suffer motion sickness! There is however , so much to see and this is a great way to see and experience the Cameron Highlands particularly if you get a great driver like Patrick .

Amazing experience to discover Malaysia with a perfect guide
It has been a really nice trip. the tour guide LG was really efficient and prepared and he answered to all our questions and curiosities. Not only the fireflies themselves were enjoyable but also the visit of the Indian temple, the hill with the monkeys and the dinner in the fishermen's village. I highly recommend this trip when in Kuala Lumpur.

Great experience with the perfect guide
The trip was absolutely amazing. The tour guide LG was very kind, efficient, very prepared and open to answer to questions and curiosity. I appreciated the tour not only for the fireflies themselves but also for the chance to visit the indian temple, the hill with the monkeys and a beautiful view and the dinner at a local restaurant in the fishermen village. Great experience to discover Malaysia.

        Great Guide and nice tour
Our Guide LG was very nice, accomodating and answered all our questions concerning the places we visited and Malaysia in general. He also gave us great recommendations concerning food. We enjoyed our tour and would recommend it to others.

Tour as described, temple, monkeys and fireflies
Tour exactly as described, beautiful temple, cheeky monkeys and seeing fireflies in their natural habitat. Informative tour guide, would have scored higher but 45 min late pickup and did not have enough time to get food before going on boat, we did not do additional bioluminescence paid excursion. Overall good tour.

        Firefly + Blue Tears Tour
Our half day trip with LG was such a unique experience! He is a very kind guy and taught us a lot about the attractions but also Malaysian culture in general. One of the highlights of our trip! Highly recommended.

        Great
Awesome. Definitely worth it. The extra 50 MYR for the lighting plankton was worth it too even though it wasn’t as bright as the pictures.

        OK but not spectacular
The overall experience was good. Our guide spoke excellent English and was informative as we headed on the 1hr drive to the sea. The temple visit en route was very good and a great photo stop. The Fort was not great but monkeys were entertaining. Then at the river we had 45mins free time for eating then boarded our boat for the fire flies. The speed boat good fun as they hurtle down the river to the mangrove trees. We did see some fire flies but not too many. A few came into the boat, and overall probably one to tick on the bucket list but not as spectacular as the brochures show, the fireflies are very weather dependent so our stormy eveningwas not ideal. Then the boat takes you out to sea for the 'blue tears' experience. This phenomenon only occurs when the plankton is disturbed so nets are handed out which does create blue light in the net. Not worth the ÂŁ8 each charge for this extra in my view.

        Something different to try
Took this trip out of city to see fireflies. Stopped on the way to see monkeys which I was happy to look at from a distance and glad that they didn’t interact with you unless you bought the food to entice them on your back. The meal provided was excellent ( I don’t eat shellfish) there was chicken and veggies available. The boat trip was better than we expected. Not crowded and we saw lots of fireflies.

Worth a look but just be wary of online ticket purchase.
When we arrived at the desk there was some confusion over the online tickets I had bought. I was told I needed to get new tickets (cash only)?? Tour itself was okay but with a little wind there were only a few fireflies.

        Don’t waste your time
Long drive to see very little. Waste of time and money. Fireflies are stable and in the bushes. Yes, you do see the light. Almost nonexistent blue algae. We were given nets on a stick to stir the water and generate minute specs of color. Paid extra ten dollars each to see “blue” tiers.. lol. Our driver was nice and professional.

Really enjoyable tour, LG was great!
The tour was great, we got time inside the Sri Shakti Temple (I was only expecting a photo stop), visit Melawati Hill and see the views and monkeys, buy our own dinner (because we didn't like the set seafood dinner tours), boat ride and fireflies. As with all things nature, its a bit of luck on whether you interact with monkeys and see fireflies. The success for our tour really comes down our driver and guide LG. It was raining in KL, it was a Saturday, traffic was bad meaning timing was tight, but we still got to through the itinerary, we didn't feel rushed, LG gave just the right amount of commentary, got us up Melawati Hill, and liaised with the boat company to get us sorted on the busy jetty. A very safe pair of hands. Re: the fireflies, there is a number of reviews that question whether its worth the tour. IMHO, sure they are like low wattage xmas lights, I'd recommend doing it if you haven't seen them before and because its an experience in a new country on top of the temple, hill, monkeys, commentary and boat ride.

        No fireflies
Do not do this. We were forced to step in the boat when is was not yet dark. So no fireflies. But in stead of waiting they returned to pick up next tourists Disappointing. Especially for kids.

We had a great tour with our Guide LG. He’s very funny and friendly. The monkey feeding was super interesting and fun! They are really friendly, they sit on your shoulder and you can pet them.
The firefly and blue tear watching is also fun but you’ve to be clear: it is not as intense like some of the photos show. The blue tears just light up a little bit. All in all we would recommend the tour (mainly because of the monkeys and the fireflies) and we really recommend going with LG

Our guide LG was very friendly and nice, he picked us up at the hotel and we took a 1h drive to an Indian Temple where there was a ceremony going on, then to feed monkeys on a park and after that to a sunset view at the top of a hill.
The trip continued to a river bay in a fishermen's town where we took a boat to see firefiles in the bushes, which you can see very clearly, and then to another river area where you can see the "blue tears" in the water. You can buy mosquito repelent there as it is very necessary.
Very cool tour, nice people and LG made it a great experience as he told us about the history of the country, its independence and his views on what the future holds for Malaysia.
      Totally recommended!

The driver is very good and smart in planing our route as there was heavy rain during part of the trip. The trip was extended to maximize the darkness in the night, so that we can have a much better view of the fire flies and alge ( Blue Tears ). The glowing aglae was amazing to watch.

This tour is well worth doing. Our driver and guide, LG, was great. He picked us up promptly and took us to an interesting Hindu temple and a place to see and interact with silver leaf monkeys as well as an old lighthouse with views over the Straits of Malacca before delivering us to the firefly jetty in time to have a quick meal (delicious and reasonably priced) before the boat trip. The fireflies were amazing. It’s best to wait till there have been two days without rain before going on a clear night. They were dazzling. The luminescent blue algae was interesting too. LG got us back to KL in good time and even dropped a couple of us at the monorail station as it was more convenient for us than the hotel pickup. Highly recommended.

Not worth the money. A taxi would cost much less to hire and most of the stops are free so I am not sure why it is so expensive. The boat ride is probably the only expensive part.

Also the pics especially for the blue tears are exatutarted. We hardly saw it in reality.

LG was an amazing tour guide! Hotel pick-up is super convenient and any queation our group had, he could answer. Also took us to unplanned landmarks and made the whole experience unforgettable. Can recommend this trip to anyone visiting KL for the first time who also doesn't have a lot of time available to see everything.

The tour was OK. Lots of time spent traveling. Fireflies look like lights blinking in the trees. You do not get to see the fireflies up close and no explanation is given. Time seeing the fireflies was about 5-10 minutes. Same with the Blue tears. You are given a net to put in the water as the boat travels slowly for about 5-10 minutes. If you have never seen bioluminescence, then maybe it may be of some interest. It is brackish water though so the color of the water is brown. The other two stops were really a waste of time,a Hindu temple elaboratly carved, built about 10 years ago and a park with llighthouse where you can see some ocean…Monkeys everywhere. Again no explanation given during these two stops. We left at 4 pm got back at 10 pm. IMO not really worth the time or money.

Enjoyed the high speed boat ride and eagle feeding at sunset (which was an additional cost). This should be included in the price as it was a continuous boat journey. Fireflies were nice but not spectacular, the blue tiers underwhelming. Driver was nice and professional. The temple was interesting but the monkey experience was literally feeding monkeys in a car park despite the signs saying do not feed the monkeys. Chaotic.

An amazing trip with so many wow! moments! The tour leader was very caring and looked after me as a solo travel so well! He really did accommodated my needs and I felt very safe. Great transport and loved all the sights. Highlight was the boat trip to see the fireflies and luminous plankton. The meal was optional, but so happy I did it! Absolutely delicious and the best meal I had in Malaysia. I highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic tour. The guide was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The sites were great - visited a Hindu Temple, fed Silverleaf monkeys and saw Macaque monkeys too, amazing lookout point, fun high speed boat trip to see fireflies and bioluminescent water - an excellent mix of experiences with an excellent guide. Highly recommended!
