- cadeavery20160 contributionsExhilarating Family DayTerrifying fun! Our family of 5, (51, 48, 23, 22, and 15) chose the combo tour with repelling, ziplining and horseback riding. It was so much fun that we are still talking about it months later. Everyone starts at the tour headquarters and goes through the safety training together. Then you all ride a train to the starting spot. Our family did a couple of zip lines with the big zip lining group. Then our family of 5 broke off from the big group with our two guides and did small hike to the repelling spot. Everyone in my family did great at the repelling except for me. I hit spot where my short legs had me jumping out over and over without going down. The guides were great and let out more rope and got me going again. My kids love to watch the video and may fun of my repel! The bottom of the canyon was amazing. There are two waterfalls coming into the canyon. We spent a few minutes enjoying nature and taking some pictures and then started the scariest part of the day: the ladder climb back to the top. You have to climb so many ladders that are hanging off the side of the mountain and it is honestly terrifying. But you are harnessed and the guides are there to reassure you. Once we got to the top, we did another short hike back to our next zip line. We completed the rest of our zip lines. The guides told us some history about the area and pointed out some interesting things as we went. Once we completed the zip lines. We walked to a barn and got on our hoses and did a short horseback ride mostly along a stream. Then we went back to the headquarters where we were given a snack. It was an amazing family day and I highly recommend.Written 9 February 2025
- Joe N0 contributionsAmazing Experience! We had an amazing time on this tour! Daniel and Harrison were our guides, and they did a wonderful job! They made sure we were comfortable, watched over our belongings at the waterfall, and assisted us when needed on the climb back up to our horses. Definitely recommend this tour!!Written 8 February 2025
- katielQ124YH0 contributionsIf you’re even considering it… do this zip line experience! This experience was AMAZING! It’s such a well-run and organized operation that kept us safe the entire time. Views were incredible and I’d highly recommend 10/10!Written 6 February 2025
- justinec3270 contributionsGreat fun!I've done a lot of ziplines and quite in few in Costa Rica- I have to say this is one of my favorites. The property was very easy to find and check in process was fast and easy. They do have free lockers you can use which we were happy to find out. The tram ride to the first zipline was very scenic and fun. We had a large group but we were broken up into smaller groups once we got to the first zipline. I also liked the scenic hikes to other zipline locations. The only downside is that for the longest zipline, if you are on the smaller/lighter side, you don't get to experience it alone as you may not weigh enough to get you across the zipline. I had to wrap my legs around a stranger and then had a guide behind me like a human train. However, that was better than being stuck in the middle of the zipline and having someone come rescue me. All the guides were super friendly and happy to help. We even got to see some howler monkeys once we got back to the main check in area.Written 4 February 2025

- 5280momma0 contributionsSuper Zip Line Experience! Our family of 4 did this in Jan 2025. I was quite nervous about the whole thing but it is completely safe and I'm so glad I did it. Their zip lines go above the La Fortuna Waterfall, so that's a pretty cool experience. I was surprised by how physical it actually is, so if you're out of shape like I am, I would recommend doing the 7 zip lines instead of the 12. I was definitely ready to be done after 7. This company is pretty close to the town of La Fortuna, so that's a plus as well because you don't have to drive too far to get to them, like some of the other zip line companies. Be sure to visit their little butterfly & frog garden near the main building when you're done zip lining - it's a beautifully kept space and we saw some really pretty birds and plants in there. Would absolutely recommend Mundo Arenal!Written 1 February 2025

- whippetlovr0 contributionsDo your Costa Rica ziplining here!We chose the AMA Ride with the 2 zipline course and horseback ride back afterwards. The ziplines were incredible! We've been to 'fancier' ziplines before and these ones far exceeded our expectations and blew past experiences out of the water. The guides were fantastic, super helpful especially with our 9 year old daughter. The horseback ride was also good, the horses looked well taken care of and in good condition, though the horse my husband was put on was far too small for him (my 9 year old was put on a larger horse than his). It was a fantastic day, with one disappointment at the end when we wanted to walk to the waterfall and were told we couldn't because of the time. There was still plenty of time until closing and we were a fit party of 3 that could have easily have done it, but instead reception told us to go town the road and pay to go see it elsewhere. So we left Costa Rica having not seen the waterfall :( Other than that, it was a perfect day and very glad we chose to do our ziplining here. (side note, the food in the restaurant was also great, and the bartender/server provided excellent service).Written 30 January 2025

- kourtneyp20250 contributionsProfessional, Safe & EXTREME Ziplining Adventure!!You can tell that you are dealing with professional and trained staff who genuinely care about your safety and experience. Communication is strong about what to expect, so there’s literally no surprises, which is especially soothing for those who seek adrenaline but still harbour fears. You can either zipline alone, zipline in a group or have a certified team-member “expert” join you. I LOVE to try new things, and I saw this as opportunity to do that, but I was still scared shitless. I advise you choose this zipline adventure if you want to: 1. See breathtaking views of the waterfalls 2. Enjoy extreme ziplining in a safe environment 3. Physically challenge yourself (hiking hills) 😀Written 17 January 2025
- Maya D0 contributionsGreat experience, totally worth a bit of rainDaniel was our tour guide and he was absolutely great! He matched our horses to our personalities extremely well and kept everything very fun and lively. He took great pictures, emerged us in lots of history, and kept the horses in line. - 579mikkap0 contributionsHighly recommendZip lines were so fun. I went with my 71 year old grandma and she had a blast. Some of the lines are super fast both longer and shorter. Consider bringing some glasses to help shield the rain as it can be difficult to see when you need to start braking.Written 1 January 2025

My girlfriend and i took the big ama tour which is the one with 12 different zip lines!
We had an absolute blast!
We went while it was raining and it just felt amazing to be zipping through the trees at great speeds while getting wet!
The views are AMAZING with the volcano in the background.
Plus, you get to see two beautiful waterfalls!
The tour guides were super kind and funny while also making sure all of us felt safe!
I definitely recommend to pay extra for the photos because the photographer does a great job and the pictures will last a life time!
If you’re in La Fortuna, this is a MUST-DO activity!!

We had a fantastic time ziplining with this company! It was our first time ziplining ever so we chose the 12 cable tour to go all out lol. The guides were great and made you feel very safe before zipping down each cable. There were a few lines where they recommended a guide go with me because I'm on the smaller side and they advised I would probably get stuck LOL and I was happy to listen so I never did get stuck! Our favourite lines by far were the ones where you could see the La Fortuna waterfall - this view was absolutely spectacular! After the first one or two ziplines, you get the hang of how to position yourself and also how to hold on to the line with your braking hand should you need to brake. The guides would also tell you before you zip down if you shouldn't brake at all (so you don't get stuck).
If you're doing the 12 cable tour, do note that the hike up to the first cable is no joke lol. It's on a pretty steady incline the entire way and no benches to rest so just keep that in mind. They do have water stations at some of the cables which is good as they don't let you bring water. I brought my phone in a waterproof phone pouch with a lanyard around my neck and that worked great to take photos and videos while waiting between cables, and they also allow you to bring a fanny pack as well if you want to bring one with you. You're also able to have another guide to accompany you on the tour who will take photos of you on a DSLR camera (not sure if they take videos of you too) which you can pay for at the end of the tour, but we opted not to as I had my phone with me.
All in all, it was a great tour and I'm glad we went with this company for the waterfall views alone!! It was so exhilarating zipping through the canopy like that. Our entire group was all smiles and in good spirits the entire time - would definitely recommend this tour!!

This was a great tour with professional guides. My family (husband, 15 yo daughter and 12 yo son) have ziplined a number of times. The hike from where the truck drops you off to where you start the tour was intense! But that was the only real walking required. There were about 20 in our group but we didn't spend much time waiting between, in fact, we were often walking quickly to the next line and going immediately when we got there. I did feel at times that the guides were ready to be done, but not really that we were being rushed. The views were lovely. My son, daughter, and I were not always heavy enough to make it to the end on our own, so at times we had to go with a guide (at one point my son and I both went with one guide), but that actually turned out to be awesome because when we went over the waterfall the guide was able to turn us around so we could get a great view. I remember an older review that I read mentioned that they were upset that the guides separated their kids from the parents when the kids had to ride with a guide. The guides on our trip were careful not to do this and requested that my husband or I went first so that one of us would be there at the end when the kids arrived. The harnesses did fit me strangely (and everyone in the family actually) so we all ended up with thigh bruises, which has never happened to us ziplining before. At the end of the tour we went through a mock village of the Maleku people who had artwork and crafts to sell. It was an enjoyable tour.

Amazing time and amazing guides. Guides were great to make sure everyone made it across with no problems. The 12 cables are awesome but it would be worth going for the 1000m cable over the waterfall. Would highly recommend checking this out if in Fortuna area.

This was one of our favorite activities in La fortuna. Doing all 12 zip lines was totelly worth it and even the shorter ones are pretty fast. The safety gear is all high quality. It poured rain on us the whole time but we were having so much fun it didn’t matter. I was expecting to have spend a lot of time waiting at each station but the guides move the group along really efficiently and I never waited more than a few minutes for my turn. Scenery was amazing and after zip lining over the La fortuna waterfall I didn’t feel the need to pay to walk down to it.

Twelve - TWELVE - zip lines. I was expecting maybe 7 or 8, but no. Twelve! And these are not wimpy, short zip lines. Some are so long you can’t see the end when standing on the platform. We had 3 guides for our group of 7 (should’ve have been a larger group but one family rescheduled), and we felt safe and taken care of during the nearly 4 hours we were on the course. Scenery was breathtaking. Be sure to look around and not just straight ahead.
I never stopped short of the platform but my husband and daughter both did at least once. If you’re braking too much, you’ll likely be stopping short on the really long lines and you’ll have to pull yourself the rest of the way.
One word of caution: nowhere in the tour description does it mention the strenuous hike/climb involved. According to my watch, we climbed 57 flights of stairs and walked over 5 miles. Most of the steps were getting to the first platform, but there are more later on in the course. If you’re not in great shape, you’re going to struggle to keep up. I did.

They were accomodative to rebook us for the next day morning since the weather turned bad at the original reserved time in the afternoon. Tip for future travelers: book the morning slots for all the activities. In the Mt Arenal jungles, the clouds and rain usually start in the afternoons, so this zipline & for that matter, any afternoon tour is at risk . This is the case even in the "dry" season e.g. march.
The tour itself had a lot of ziplines (12 for the full tour), and two of them had beautiful waterfall views. The guides were helpful too. Only reason for the 3.5 star (& not 5 star) is that there were at least 2 lines, where multiple people were stopping short of the platform and either had to do the crawl back themselves or had to be rescued by the guides. The guides were taking the small kids tandem so the added adult weight carried them through so small kids were fine but skinny teenagers/below average weight adults were very likely to stop short on at least one or two lines.

Good experience overall after the hike to the top of the mountain. They take everyone in a trailer to almost the top of the mountain and tell you to hike to the top. The weight of the equipment - harness and the other equipment is about 20 lbs - then you have to hike almost straight uphill for almost a mile. People with advanced age or physical limitations would have difficulty getting to the starting point. The 12 zip lines are good, there is some moderate hiking between some of the zip lines as you are coming down. The staff is professional and safety oriented but not customer friendly.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the zip lines and appreciated our focus on safety. The initial hike to the starting point is part of the adventure and covers approximately 500 meters (0.3 miles), allowing access to some of the most breathtaking views in the area.
For those looking for a less demanding option, we recommend the 7-zip tour, which starts from a higher platform and requires less hiking.
We also appreciate your comments about our team. While safety is always our priority, we strive to provide a welcoming experience, and we’ll take your feedback into account to keep improving.
Thank you for visiting, and we hope to see you again!

We had a group of 9 (ages 9-48) and did the 12 zip line tour. Our group of 4 tour guides (Alex and 3 others) were amazing! Our youngest child was nervous about the ziplining, but she was able to ride with a guide for some of them and after the first time down with a guide she was all in!
The hike to the starting point was longer and more difficult than we anticipated. The zip lines were also longer and faster than we expected, which we loved! The guides were knowledgable and able to tell us when our lighter-weight children should ride with a guide so they didn’t get stuck. (If they recommend that for a zip line, I’d definitely listen - people who didn’t take the advice got stuck and ended up pulling themselves for the last section of the line).
This was one of our favorite activities of our vacation!

Written 21 June 2022
The weight limit is about 275lbs.....You do hike up to the platforms. The guides are very patient so you can hike at the pace you are comfortable with. Some guides will be paired with the fast group while others with the slower groups with kids or older people.
