Our family of 6 including two teenagers and two seniors, had a fun time on the River safari today. I would recommend asking for Norman and Ernesto to be your guide and driver. Ask them lots of questions. These guys are great!
They are very proud of their country and on the way to the River, they will go over the history of Costa Rica and they will explain some of the local legends.
This tour does include a lunch from a local restaurant close to the river. The lunch was a local cuisine of chicken, salad, hash, and beans and rice.
The river boat is covered, so, in case it rains, you will most likely stay dry. We did encounter heavy rains, and we were dry. The captain of the boat pointed out monkeys, birds, crocs, bats, etc.
I would recommend that you bring bug spray because the mosquitoes will be out!
You can bring your own beer and they will put it in a cooler for you if you so choose.
Bring extra tip money since this tour does make a couple of extra stops, like the coffee plantation.

We booked the tour through Frank the Tank - who has been fundamental in making our holiday fantastic! We organised 3 tours through him, he was so helpful, patient and responsive. We Facebook messaged and Whatsapped him for info, he always responded promptly and was really kind to us when we changed one of our tours last minute. Made everything smooth and organised, always let us know of the time and place of pick up the night before.
The tour itself was incredible and that was mainly down to being in the expert hands of Eddie Rojas the Tour Guide and Cidar Alvarez the driver. Never known people to go out of their way more to ensure you have a brilliant day. So informative about Costa Rican lifestyle and so much fun. They share everything with you and make sure you've done and seen everything you wanted. What more could you want from a tour! I would recommend both this tour, Frank and all the staff we came across from Costa Rica Unique to anyone travelling to the area. It will make your holiday. Thank you guys! Patrick & Georgia

Wow! Saw it all , great selection of wildlife including crocodiles and birds as well as a family of white faced monkeys. The tour was excellent and well worth the time and cost. A traditional lunch was provided in a small village, excellent people. The most important part was our tour guide, MANUEL, he absolutely Rocks! An incredibly knowledgable guide with excellent english language and was so conscious of everyones needs. Manuel was an absolute vault of costa Rican wildlife knowledge even having the drive pull over when he saw a family of Macaws in a mango tree as we were driving.
The Boat driver was excellent in getting us into some very tight areas to see wildlife.

we had such a blast! Ernesto, our guide gets a big shout out... he was informative and fun to hang with. Even the ride to the safari was just as fun exploring the local plants and fruits and we stopped at a local park to hang with the giant iguanas. on the safari we saw all the wildlife up close from crocs to osprey's hunting fish to monkeys that came aboard to check us out. Puri our driver was one with the animals who came to his whistles. Even the lunch after was amazing. we look forward to bringing the grandkids next time.

Daniel started the tour as soon as we got on the bus. We stopped at a souvenir shop and learned about coffee. Stopped at a park in a little town and saw iguanas. Saw people “harvesting” sand from the river with oxen. He told us about the areas we were driving through, about sugar cane and the Del Monte Co growing melons. 4-5 hrs later we arrived at the river for the boat ride. We saw monkeys alligators and birds. The river ride was relaxing. Stopped for lunch afterwards, which was good.
Cons it was a very long time before we ate. Most of us got on bus at 7 and didn’t eat lunch until after 1. Should warn people that it will be 6 hrs before you eat. A bottle of water was given to us on the boat, but not enough for all. Luckily I brought my own.
Our tour guide was Daniel and he was excellent. Very informative and entertaining.

Jose the tour guy in the lobby of the hotel Breeze was
extremely helpful in selecting the right tours for our family.
We went fishing one day, waterfalls, Horseback riding, zip
lining, volcano mud and thermal waters, another day
safari boat ride where we saw crocodiles and monkeys.
All the tours were hired through him. A great vacation full
of adventures for the family.
For our family, having great, safe and memorable tours is
important and Jose and his company made this happen.
Our concierge at the Breeze hotel Cecilia Montero is
beyond helpful. She made our stay for this week amazing.
Weeks before arriving she made sure that all the details
were taken care of for our safe arrival.
Then she helped us on several requirements throughout
our trip that really were not part of her job description
like covid test coordination and when the clinic would not
answer she found a way to get the results in time. We also
needed a computer for my kids and distance learning
and she lent me her sons computer for a week.
Amazing customer service like we have never
experienced in so many years of travel.

This was the first excursion we did in Costa Rica, and it really set the tone for Costa Rica and it’s amazing people! Willbert went over and beyond for us to teach us about his wonderful country! We learned so much from him, and he stopped at every little thing on the drive for me to go to the restroom, get fresh fruit, go to the supermarket, take pictures of iguanas, monkeys, etc. The lunch on the excursion was sooo yummy! A home cooked Costa Rican meal for lunch and we got to watch pottery being made and purchase it. We saw crocodiles, birds, and monkeys on the river. So cool! Ask for Willbert and he will not disappoint!!!

Tour guide, Daniel, and driver, Mayorga, were WONDERFUL! We asked a lot of questions and Daniel was very knowledgeable. He used to be in the entertainment industry so he was funny too! If you want a tour that really shows you some culture, economy, and nature, book this trip! Delicious lunch included.

Had a great day, but some tour guides are better than others. We had Johnathon and he did provide some information but seemed more interested in his phone and eating ice cream that was bought for himself after money was provided by everyone on the tour for bananas and chicken. We Don’t know if he used our money or not but it’s just the idea of him coming back from the store and he’s got an ice cream for himself.
I would not use or recommend him for the tour.

The staff very knowledgeable, professional, had a terrific sense of humor on tour. Fair prices, Busses are new, very efficient services.
Judy our Tour agent went out of her way to accommodate my needs. Even getting monies back on her day off.
