- valeriefQ8624CP00Awesome time!!!10/10 experience Food was better than our crappy resort! It was actually awesome. Staff was awesome. Full bar with blended drinks + endless drinks Music was awesome Boat was in great shape They slowed down for the sunset Snorkeling was awesome We saw dolphins and they slowed down and attempted to follow them so we could see them more! So much fun
- Jennifer C00This catamaran sunset cruise completed our trip in this most amazing way!!This catamaran sunset cruise was incredible!! The staff is so friendly and helpful. The bartender was on top of everyone’s orders and was so quick to keep you refreshed!! This is not a “booze cruise” but we were able to order what we wanted and had a REALLY FUN TIME!! We stopped to snorkel, saw some coral, little fish, puffer fish and swam to the white sand beach. Noodles were provided and I personally suggest taking one as the swim was farther than expected. After snorkeling, a delicious homemade lunch was provided and was more than enough to go around!! It was more than delicious, it was authentic and it was incredible!! After lunch we set back to return and saw the most amazing sunset as well as being lucky enough to catch a beautiful rainbow!! The day was perfection from beginning to end. We met incredible people to match the incredible setting!! If you don’t have fun on this excursion it’s your own fault!! Book it and enjoy!!
- 689christiep00AmazingThe crew was amazing and very attentive. I would definitely recommend this and would definitely do this again.
- S935SLstephenm00Great timeGreat day snorkeling. Staff very entertaining and fun. The boat was clean and comfortable. Lunch was provided and drinks were flowing!
- torirocha00One of a kind trip! Our captain and his crew were amazing! they took us out on a fun trip at sea and a beautiful snorkeling spot. They provided us with lunch and all of the equipment to snorkel. Ended it with a gorgeous sunset. Thwy definitely made it fun and had some dang good food! Definitely recommend going on one of there tours
- 1GigiGirl00Amazing sunset cruise. Fun. An absolute mustWhat an amazing day we had out on the water. Staff was professional, awesome and engaging. Drinks were pouring. Shout out to Andres. The trip started with wind in my hair as we blasted off to the Gulf of Papagayo. Went snorkeling, ate lunch/dinner, jumped back in the water for a swim, and had the most amazing sunset ever as we went back to Playa Coco. It was a great way to end my week in Costa Rica. Pura Vida.
- Richard M00Great trip for all agesGreat trip. The crew is outstanding, professional, and friendly. By crew, I mean everyone involved at Marlin del Rey from the first contact until they dropped us off after the event. I am 81, and they made the trip great, even for an old man.
- Dream72035900Great experience in CocoThis was a top notch experience start to finish. Booking was straight forward, we booked in the office in Coco with Juan Carlos and the trip went exactly how he said it would. At first it seemed like it was a lot of people but once everyone had their drinks and found their spots, there was plenty of room to move around. Staff were very professional, experience was fantastic, food was delicious and plentiful. Ages ranged from kids to seniors on our trip and it seemed everyone had a grand time.
- Lorenda O00Birthday trip!!What I enjoyed was the catarmaran it was spacious and we were able to roam free, the tour guides and bar tenders were amazing, the weather was nice, water was calm, food and snacks was good. I celebrated my birthday on the boat so had an awesome time.
- JRudow00Blllllllasst!!! I had a BLAST!This trip was amazing.. the staff was awesome, in fact they even ask and brought out on the deck what we ordered and the drinks are all incredible and included. Honestly such a wonderful day.. I’d do it again hands down. I did go in late February and the water was a bit chilly, I did get in although I didn’t even snorkel because I was having to much fun with everything else. Good set of people on our boat, I must say!
- KristenC174700You won't be disappointed!Such a fun day and experience! Beautiful weather, good food/drinks, music, and sunset. What more can you ask for?! We loved it. Thank you!
- L412JHchristinan00Great daytime excursionThis was so much fun! The men working on the boat were so nice and helpful! The bartender was also a lot of fun and the food was great! It was wonderful to be on the ocean! We stopped for about an hour to swim, snorkel and feed monkeys! We had an issue with our booking before we arrived. When we did arrive, we were able to address the issue with no problem! If you visit Playa de Coco you should definitely consider this excursion! Food and drinks are bottomless! Staff spoke English and Spanish!
- isslandboy00If you want to snorkel this is not your best choice.First the positive, crew was friendly and efficient. The food service was great, and the bar had a decent selection, crew kept everyone's glass full. Now the not so good, the snorkelling was absolutely the worst I have ever seen. As soon as we rounded the corner and I saw the 6 jet skis tearing around in the bay I knew it was not going to be good. The jet skis had churned the water into a murky mess, and probably scared the fish away. I did go in, just in case I was wrong, I snorkelled my way over to a rocky out cropping, but unfortunately I was right. Why the crew would even take us there if they had any interest in us having a good snorkel experience I don't know. As soon as the sun went down, it was back to shore ASAP, anyone that has watched sunsets knows the half hour after is when the sky is the most beautiful. We did sail back part of the way, but with music blaring, it kind of took away from the magic of sailing.
- Roseek100BEST EXPERIENCE EVERI loved everything about this. It was such a beautiful and relaxed trip. The crew is more than amazing. They make sure they’re communicating with you the whole time. I was talking to some of the whole trip like we were long time friends. They make you feel so welcomed and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy the whole duration. By the way the food was amazing and the watching the sunset was an experience itself. Thanks so much to the crew. Shoutout to Yohan and Nathan, I loved them.
- Brad M00Great AfternoonA perfect afternoon on the water. Excellent staff! They were constantly asking if we needed anything. A very good meal. Bbq chicken beans and rice. A great full bar. A very nice boat. We went on two sunset trips. This one was the compete opposite of the other one !

A Costa Rican friend recommended this tour to me so we booked. It honestly could not have been better. I was a bit concerned about the max number of guests in a group, but it did not feel crowded or "cattle callish" at all. What struck us most was the service. All staff were constantly asking if I needed a drink or water, or I needed anything at all. The food was good. The snorkeling was fun and the sunset was amazing (I would definitely pay more and go on the afternoon option.) There were all ages on the boat and it was fine for kids. My husband and I brought 4 young adults (19-21) and they loved it. Can't say enough good things about this tour.

I have been on the Marlin del Rey many times and always had a fantastic time. This trip was even more amazing. It was all about the crew. There was a gentleman that was going on the trip from Coco beach and he had MS. The crew helped him on the small boat which was bouncing like crazy with the waves. Then when we arrived at the catamaran a crew-mate lifted him on his back and carried him onto the boat. WOW! It was a super windy day and we still had an amazing time. Saw dolphins on the way back to Coco :) So I applaud the efforts made by the crew to make sure everyone had a good time. I would highly recommend them!

We picked the day we went specifically because it was windy and we wanted to go for a sail. The fact that in addition to sailing & snorkeling they advertise fishing from the boat, paddle boards, going to a secluded beach, plus an open bar and nice food was what got us to book with this operator. But once we pulled anchor there was no signs of sails going up even though we had perfect conditions so I asked a crew member and he said the captain never puts up sails going out, just coming back. Why? He shrugged his shoulders and just said “that’s the way the captain does it”. So we motored over to a beach with a half dozen other boats already anchored there (so much for secluded) and jumped in to go snorkeling with no instructions as to were to go or what to look for. We headed over to the area that looked most likely to have coral and found a 95%dead reef. So disappointing. We returned to the boat after awhile and were served a very nice ‘lunch’, and after a bit headed back to coco were we started from. After a few extremely watered down drinks we switched to beer and wine and kept waiting for the captain to turn off the engines and sail. Eventually the wind picked up and they did turn off the engines for about 10 minutes but it was such a shame to have wasted all that beautiful air earlier in the day. On another note, they did put out a fishing line but didn’t bother to go through a school of working tuna not too far from the boat. Again another missed opportunity. You would think with Covid and the limited number of guests they have these days that they would be offering the best experience ever, not the run of the mill trip they gave us.

This was a great experience. We travelled north we saw a whale breach and then he just showed off for a while. Went to a lovely cove to swim and/or snorkel. A great luncheon on the way back of bbq chicken, rice, Pico de gallo, different kinds of chips, fresh fruit and chocolate chip cookies. Drinks are free and there is lots of staff to deliver them if you haven’t got your sea legs yet. The staff make the whole trip super enjoyable and a do not miss adventure. Big shout out to Jeffry who was awesome.

Let me just start by saying that this tour is 100% worth it. Everything, from the guides taking you on the boat to dropping you off at the end of the day felt flawless and perfectly coordinated. Bar service was great, food was good, and the views were spectacular. We were lucky enough to see dolphins jumping out of the water in front of the boat on our way back during the sunset.
For anyone wondering exactly what you do, it is as follows:
You meet up at the designated pickup point, they bring you on a small boat and take you to the catamaran, you depart towards a private beach where you can hangout, snorkel, or even stay on the boat if you prefer, you will eat lunch, and then you will head back to the original pickup spot.
For help choosing a date: we went on December 2nd and the weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky. Pretty much any time between December and March you can expect great weather!
Thanks everyone who is part of the crew for an amazing tour!

I can't compliment this crew enough. We had a group of 24 which was more than difficult to organize. To top it off I had booked the wrong day. Cinthia was amazing at helping last minute transportation and getting all these people to the catamaran, and nobody knew the difference. This was our wedding present to the couple and their families and to say it was the favorite part of the trip for all is an understatement. I don't know how to express how much fun we had or the memories we made with the crew, the food, the drinks, everything was SPOT ON! Thank you for all of your help. We were going to do private, but couldn't get people to commit and I'm so glad we didn't. You never know who you are going to meet on adventures, and we made great friends on this trip and the CREW, was so amazing to all of us. Thank you again and again. Top notch!

Everything was great just remember you aren’t in Caribbean when it comes to fish. We did see several puffer fish, starfish & schools of several other types of fish. The lunch was wonderful. It was actually a better lunch than at our resort! Very skilled & efficient crew. We saw a few dolphin and the captain tried to follow them but they disappeared. The sunset was phenomenal and our captain made sure to face it head on so we all had a great view.

We went on the sunset/snorkeling cruise and when we were heading back from snorkeling our captain heard of some whales in the area and took us to see them. There were approx three adults and two babies. They performed for all the boats that were there. It was so awesome!! The crew on the boat were very good. They looked after everyone and made the trip so comforting.

This experience was absolutely stunning. The boat crew were attentive and went above and beyond with their accommodations, going as far as to take out a dingy to the island where we swam so our friend with a bad knee could still enjoy the beach time. The food was delicious, drinks were flowing, music set the right mood, and the sunset was incredible. We were so glad to have this experience. 10/10 for our crew. Hands down, best excursion we have had, and one of our party is a diamond+ cruiser!!

Overall, it was an okay experience. This was more of a party boat, the tour was so packed we couldn't actually find a place to sit down on the boat since we were the last to board (almost 40-50 people on the boat). The service from the crew was excellent, but being around other drunken/rude tourists really isn't our scene. Overall, the snorkeling was okay. The water was murky, and swimming around 15 other thrashing snorkelers was more than enough for us. The crew was doing their best to make sure everyone had a drink in hand and plenty of food. The captain did his best to follow a group of dolphins on the way back. Beyond that, nothing spectacular. They don't actually raise the sails, despite more than adequate winds. I'd suggest the other smaller sail boat tours if you are not wanting the party experience.

Good Evening, one of our party is vegetarian...do you have an option for them? Other than beans and rice?

Yes, some of our party are vegetarian too. Somewhat pedestrian however, in terms of mainly fruit and salad type options. Nonetheless, enjoyed heartily by all.
Hi, Is this a guided snorkeling? I don't have nay certification nor have I ever done snorkeling.

They have meat but you don't have to eat the meat. It's all on the table buffet style, you can choose what you like.
