Great and attentive guide! Amazing and unexpected adventure off the beaten path!
This was a fantastic experience! Our guide went out of the way to make our horseback tour enjoyable and memorable! He even took pictures with my phone for us all for about a half an hour! The tour itself was not overly glamorous. We were unbearably hot and did not ride through jungle paths. We stayed on private dirt access roads. I'm an experienced rider and I'm glad the tour walked where it did, because the cobblestone paths were plenty challenging. They didn't stick us on broken spirited ponies that just walk in a straight line either. Our horses were well behaved, but definitely had spirit! We were given the freedom to safely ride them at whatever pace we were comfortable with. It felt more like a trail ride with new friends than a tour! Give it a try if you're looking for something outside the beaten path.

A great day on the river
The guides told us the river was slow because of the season- we took the trip in February- but it was plenty exciting for us. The guides were fantastic; Eddie was a friendly tour lead. Mario was our “captain” and was a lot of fun while making sure we were safe. It takes a while to get to the starting point but worth it. Lunch was great too. I highly recommend. Wear water shoes.

          Beautiful Sea Kayaking
This experience was so much fun! We kayaked for 25 minutes to a great little snorkeling spot. Our guide had sweet fruit ready for us afterwards, then we kayaked back. I highly recommend this tour.

5 stars for a long, windy trip to Arenal!
Pedro was a fantastic driver! He was kind, thoughtful and patient with me and my daughter as we translated our best on behalf of our family. It was great practice as she’s studying Spanish in HS in the US. It was a longer trip than we may have expected with windy roads and beautiful vistas of the mountains and the ocean. Our 3 kids all struggle with car sickness and he was very helpful. He had good places to stop for clean bathrooms and great food. It was a fabulous experience with him and we were so lucky he was our driver today. Thank you Tucanes Tours for employing such great people like Pedro! 5 stars from our family.

          Highlight of our trip!!
I cannot recommend this trip enough! Hugo was such an amazing guide who was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and funny, and made this such a special experience. He taught us so much about the history of the region and was a great teacher when it came to riding the horses. Along the ride through the beautiful rainforest, he went out of his way to take us down a hidden path to a river for a swim, and took lots of awesome photos for us. Hotel pickup/dropoff is super convenient and the air-conditioned transportation was excellent. I highly recommend this tour and would absolutely do it again!! Thank you Hugo!!!

          Great Tour
Our guide was excellent- he was a guide as well as a naturalist who understood all the plants and animals of Costa Rica. We saw sloths, birds, monkeys and assorted mammals and learned about their habitat and life styles while understanding the way that nature in this part of the world works together. Besides being knowledgeable he was very engaging and interesting to all ages on the tour which ranged from a 10 year old to people in their 70’s. We highly recommend this tour and are grateful for all that we learned.

Manuel Antonio Nat. Park :Overated tour
I went on a tour of Manuel Antonio Nat Park from San Jose. They picked me up at 5.15 and was back at 8pm in My hotel. All we saw was a couple of sloths and some Monkeys. Our guide did not have any telescope like all the other guides so I guess we missed out on wildlife because of it. Sloths can easily be seen in San Jose so in my opinion an almost 15 hours tour @ $163 is a waste of money and time. This tour is overatted unless maybe if you take a guide that carries a telescope. The beach though was beautiful and we did spent Time there because I guess we did not spend much time looking at wildlife. Overall I was disappointed and dont recommend. There are better places to see wildlife including sloths and Toucans and Quetzals in Monteverde and La Fortuna.

Amazing service with Marlon from Tucanes tours
Amazing service. Marlon, with Tucanes tours, was our driver hired to get us from Manuel Antonio to Samara. Marlon went out of his way to show us sites and animals. The best driver we had during our stay in CR.

Visit the Mangroves with Damas Mangrove Boat Tour
The Damas Island Estuary Boat Trip from Manuel Antonio started with an early pick up at our hotel at 6:25 am. As we began our slow tour through the brackish waters of the mangroves, our tour guide Daniella, pointed out the many birds we saw. I We were hoping to see a sloth or some monkeys, but it’s always a chance what you will see. Each tour is different. She included a history of the area and explained the two different mangroves. There were no bugs or flies which was an added bonus. After the tour, we were taken to a local outdoor market and breakfast was provided, before returning to our hotel. It was a great tour and our guide was a delight.

          Fun for all abilities
Had a fantastic experience with Nico and the whole crew. We were a mixed group of varying abilities and the guides were able to make sure that everyone was safe and had fun. We all had a chance to get out of the boat and swim bit as well. The only negative was the time it took traveling to the start of the rafting and then again after. This is a 6/7 hour event, with only 2 hours of actual rafting.

          Highly recommend this tour company!
Last week a group of six of us went on the Damas Island Mangrove Boat Tour, led by Jeremy, and we had a great time. We saw brown pelicans, ibis, herons, iguanas and other animals along the banks, and Jeremy was super knowledgeable about the different types of mangroves and all of the flora and fauna in the area. What was really special was that on the bus on the way back to Manuel Antonio, our bus driver spotted a pair of scarlet macaws and pulled over onto the side of the road so we could get out of the bus to take some photos. This really made our day! We also really appreciated the meal at the end of the tour. Thank you, Tucanes Tours, especially Jeremy, our boat captain, and our bus driver. All of them helped us spot animals!

          Great tour company and guide
Last week a group of six of us (three couples) went a walking tour through Manuel Antonio National Park with Jeremy. He was a fantastic tour guide, super knowledgeable about all the plants and animals in the park. We saw sloths, iguanas, white-faced monkeys, a nighthawk, and several other animals. There was also an anteater, but it was pretty much hidden from sight. Jeremy was friendly, communicated well with us in English and was a great group leader. I would highly recommend this tour and, particularly, Jeremy.

This tour had the potential to be an amazing day trip, but unfortunately we had a terrible tour guide with us (a woman named Sylvia). She was rude, unprofessional and made inappropriate comments several times. I have worked as a tour guide for several years and Sylvia seemed to lack basic training and protocol. In smaller tours like this one, the tour guide plays a really important role in shaping your trip and we got unlucky. Other than that, the itinerary was good, the park was beautiful and the food served was delicious!

The Manuel Antonio National Park tour was simply outstanding. Our driver met us in Los Suenos on time, stopped to show us a palm plantation and other flora before arriving at the Tucanes Tours office. Our guide met us, explained the activities for the day, and off we went visiting two local sites before arriving at the park. The guide, Maria Teresa, was nothing short of outstanding, knowledgeable, and went way out of her way to show us sloths, two types of monkeys, raccoons, bats, and other historical and interesting facts about the park, climate, and surrounding community. It was by far the best guided tour in many years of such activity. I highly recommend Tucanes Tours and especially Maria Teresa. Five stars plus.

The trip basically goes exactly how it’s described. Picked up from our hotel in a comfy air-conditioned shuttle bus (Jaco and MA are hot and humid!). Picked up more people from 2 other spots. Stopped by the tour company’s restaurant for breakfast, then we were at MA, stopping once to see some sloths (they’re in the tree tops so the guides have telescopes to see them better). I had read it would be crowded during the holidays, but we didn’t wait much at all which I’m assuming was because the guides knew how to be efficient. And we didn’t have to deal with the tickets or parking. Spent about 2.5 hours in the park, saw all the animals in the description, and spent about 45 min at the beach. Then back in the shuttle bus, stopped by the same spot for lunch, and back at our hotel by mid-afternoon.

All in all, would definitely recommend this company if you’re considering an MA tour. On time, efficient, food was good, small group (8 people total). Our guide, Allan (sp? sorry!) was awesome. Knowledgeable, patient, considerate. Gave special attention to my kids.

This trip was awesome! We took a walking tour (about 2 miles of flat trails) of the park and saw spider monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, different kinds of lizards, birds, crabs, insects and other animals. Our guide was Beto who was extremely knowledgable about the animals and Costa Rica in general. He had a fantastic telescope which allowed us to see the animals up close. He even took pictures for us with our cameras! He tailored our tour based on what we wanted and did a fantastic job! I would definitely recommend him for any tour. We were picked up at our condo in Jaco and transported in a comfortable, air conditioned van to a customary Costa Rican breakfast. We then went to the park, stopping once to see sloths. After our tour was over we were given a traditional Costa Rican lunch which was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about Costa Rica!

The tour was informative, and Jeremy was an excellent guide. We spotted 2 species of sloths, several monkeys, crabs, hummingbirds, lizards, geckos, a deer, leaf cutter ants, spiders and much more. The breakfast and lunch was simple, local, organic and flavorful! This tour to Manuel Antonio is a must do.

Wonderful experience with Tucanes Tours. They picked us up in Jaco in a nice van, fed us breakfast and lunch at their very nice, clean facility. Maria led our tour. She was very enthusiastic. We spotted many sloths, capuchin monkeys, lizards, and iguanas. Time was allowed for swimming at the beautiful beach. All in all a great way to spend a day!

Such an amazing day in Manual Antonio! Our guides Alan and Carla were awesome! Alan found a sloth even before we entered the park. It was so nice how they took pictures on our phones through the scopes so that we could get some up close pictures of the animals. Breakfast and lunch were very tasty. Highly recommend this tour.
