          Fantastic day! Phenomenal guides!
What a fantastic day I had on this excursion! Everything was well-organized. The equipment was in great shape and the guides took care of every logistic. After a wonderful paddle through a lake and a portion of the Beagle Canal, we had a short hike to see the most beautiful scenery of the area. Our small tour bus next went to the post office where we could get a vanity passport stamp and mail postcards. To top it off, we had a beautiful picnic in the area. The food was very good and the bottles of Argentina wine really hit the spot. All in all, it was one of the most perfect excursions I have participated in. Special thank you to Santiago and Cato for making this a wonderful day!

Fun Full Day Filled with Variety of Experiences.
Lots of fun. You're a little limited on the intensity of the hike based upon the capabilities of your fellow trekkers. Ages in our group ranged from 20s to 60s. No one was left behind. And the views still made the hike worthwhile. The lunch was quite good and having a few glasses of wine after the hike was a nice reward. The highlight of the day was rafting the Beagle Channel. It actually started raining during our paddling and didn't slow us down. Saw some seals in the water with us while we were out there too. They did a good job of matching up physical capabilities so everyone was able to participate without worrying about carrying too much of the burden. Pick up a the hotel was on time and they even called the hotel the night before to reconfirm. Booking directly through Canal via whatsapp was easy and cheaper.

          A great day out
An excellent, well organised day out. Sonia was a great guide, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The canoeing was also well organised by Maori and the views around the lake were superb. Lunch in the dome was enjoyable and the days activities helped us to socialise as a group.

Taking in Tierra del Fuego National Park on land and sea
We had a wonderful time canoeing and hiking at Tierra del Fuego National Park! Neither the hike nor the canoeing was very difficult, so it was nice to be able to take in all the scenery! The guides made getting to and around the park seamless, and a nice hot lunch in the middle was a pleasant treat! Would highly recommend!

          Wonderful Eco Adventure Day
This was a terrific trip from start to finish. Pickup was timely, the guides were friendly, informative and helpful and lunch was excellent (and enormous!) The paddling was not too demanding and we were fortunate to have decent weather and to see a great deal of wildlife. Truly a first rate outfit.

Great Introduction to Tierra del Fuego
Ana was a fantastic guide and gave us a great introduction to the history, plants, and animals/birds of the area! There's a stop for tea/coffee, and lunch is very good complete with wine. The trail is only strenuous a bit at the very end before lunch. I only wish that the river was a bit higher and the wind less strong as our "canoe" got stuck on rocks several times, and our canoe team needed to work together to get the eight of us free!

          Great active day out
Very pleasant and easy 3.5h trek through a forest in the national park followed by an ok lunch and good canoeing. No paddling experience necessary, waterproof pants and boots provided, enjoyable but quite windy on the water. Daniel did a good job as a guide and Mauri made sure we’re safe on the water. You also make it to the end of the RN3, last part of Panamericana highway stretching all the way from Alaska, what’s not to like about that?!

          Fantastic day out in Ushuaia
It was a great tour. Tamara provided fantastic commentary, views and lunch were beautiful, while canoeing and trekking not strenuous. Together with amazing fellow travellers it was an extremely memorable trip. Highly recommend!

The best tour of Tierra del feugo park
The tour of the company piratour was the best. The guide Juan was very knowledgeable professional and friendly . The canoeing was exciting, followed by a beautiful trek in the park. The driver Augustine was great and prepared for us wonderful chicken stew for lunch.

          Great trip, horrible guide!
The trip itself was very good! Beautiful hike, good food and wine, fun boat ride. The reason for rating of 3 was the guide on the hike. Note there was 1 guide for the hike and 1 for the boat. There absolutely should have been two guides for both sections. Not sure why they did not utilize both guides for both parts. During the hike an older gentleman with a leg issue fell behind. Our group of 4 (family) stayed behind to help him get through the tough terrain. At one point the guide asked if we could stay together more and not stop to take pictures. He was clueless as to what was going on at the back of line (total 14 people). We continued to lag behind helping this man. I then caught up with the rest and told the guide none of us are stopping to take pictures and let him know the struggles of the man. He seemed concerned and said he should check on him but…he just stood there. I then went back to find my family and the man. Come to find out the man and his spouse got lost because we got too far ahead. My family found them a bit shaken but unharmed. We then caught up just as the guide was coming to look for us. There was some confusion amongst the group who thought it was my family that was holding up the group. They kept telling us to move to the front. We tried telling them it was not us and both the guide and other members of the group got stern with us. There was a bit of a confrontation and we told the guide there should have been 2 of them and that we were doing his job for him. Later the guide pulled one family member to the side and said he should never disrespect him in front of the group!!! This was completely uncalled for! If not for our family the gentleman struggling would have fell (we caught him at least twice) and he would have been lost, yet we were pinged as the bad people. I am writing this the day after our trip and all of us had a hard time sleeping due to being so bothered by how the guide handled this situation. As for the boat, we had one guide who was awesome!! Great personality and very informative. However, we were out in two boats and one boat had to use a guest to steer. You absolutely had to know what you were doing and thank goodness the guest did. Again, why were there not 2 guides this entire trip is beyond all of us! Unsafe, unsafe, unsafe!!!!

          Great experience
This was a great, moderate hike followed by a group canoeing (it was more of a raft) trip in a stunning location. I was very impressed by lunch - it included a variety of appetizers, wine, a filling meal, and dessert. This was a great, well-organized way to see a bit of Patagonia. Our guide was very helpful with his answers to our questions about the indigenous people and local history.

Good choice for 1 day in Ushuaia
The guide was great with a lot of information about Ushuaia and the surrondings. Everything went according to plan. A lot of scenic spots for great photography

Picked up from the hotel and my seat in the four wheel drive vehicle was in the back row, suitable for children but not for an adult who has paid good money to do a 4 WD trip. I shared the seat with a young lady who had a bad leg and was really struggling. There was very little leg room and very limited visibility out the tiny rear side window. The guy in front of us was not happy with the situation and said there was no way he was spending 6 hours cramped in the small space. I certainly felt like a “sardine in a can”. If you are going to put 6 people including a driver in a vehicle it needs to be a large 4 WD like a Toyota Landcruiser. The customer who was not happy with the situation asked to be taken back to his hotel with his partner as they would not be participating. The driver explained that at each stop we would be swapping seats so that we all got a fair chance, but he was still not happy and we dropped the two off. We were able to rearrange the seating with just the driver and 4 passengers: 1 passenger up front and 3 in the middle row, rotating the person sitting in the middle, since the back row was so uncomfortable and had such poor views.

I felt for the first half of the trip that I was on a tour bus with the constant running monologue that seemed canned. There was a lot of driving, probably 40 minutes on sealed roads, then another 30-40 minutes on a dirt road, before we got to the lake and started real 4WD. The first stop on the sealed road was an overlook of a lake, which we skipped due to weather, stopping there on the return instead, showing good flexibility. At the second stop we got to walk along the lake, stretching our legs and admiring the views. The third leg of driving to our lunch stop included some moderate 4WD in mud ruts, deep puddles and the shallows of the lake; before being dropped off for a hike along the lake while they prepared the lunch.

Lunch was delicious and the highlight of my trip, we had bread, cheese and sausage with olives and egg plant followed by a very tasty sausage sandwich, then the steaks which were huge with salad and potatoes. Desert was a very tasty local bread pudding. Lots of local Malbec wine in a shed in the middle of the Forrest and we got to see a grey fox who appeared outside the window just after we had finished the meal.

The 4WD driving just before and after lunch was fun and I wish we could of done more of it in a bigger 4 WD. I would recommend that it would of been worth paying more to have a private tour and if we return that is what we would do.

Dear traveler, Thank you very much for taking the time to write the review, and we’re sorry for the late response: we haven’t seen it before. We hope all these reviews help people to choose correctly the tours according to their personal expectation. Although we deeply respect all opinions, we believe that is not fair enough to describe the experience as “Sardines in a can”; mostly when from a total of 176 reviews (at the moment we write this) 163 passengers qualified the tour with 5 stars. We’ve also described the tour detailing the vehicle maximum capacity is up to 6 passengers illustrated with several pictures, trying to be as clear as possible in order to explain the experience the best we can. Anyway we’ll never stop learning from you, our very appreciated travelers, so from now on: we will try to be clearer, including in the text that it also exists the possibility to book a private tour. We hope this helps future travelers to book a tour that matches better with their expectations. Sincerely, thank you again for this invaluable help!

This was a great day out along an interesting and beautiful route in a 4x4 vehicle. The driver/guide was knowledgeable and informative and went out of his way to be pleasant and helpful. The lunch stop was a pleasant surprise - great food and wine on the house - a cabin in the woods! We enjoyed the whole day immensely. The only slight downside was that the car was cramped with six passengers, especially when we hit the rough roads. For the price, I’d say you should not have anyone in the middle of a rather narrow back seat. It would be virtually impossible for even slightly bulky people, which none of us were.

Excellent experience. The guide, Franco, was very friendly and with great knowledge of the area, also very expert in driving the 4X4 truck through the uncovered area. The excursion includes lunch and Patagonian wine, which were provided inside a cabin located in a wooded area. It really was a great experience, and the guide put his humor and joy into this excursion.

We spent Christmas day with our guide Eduardo and 2 more guests in the 4x4. Eduardo was extremly kind, explained everything about Tierra del Fuego and made us all feel comfortable. After a nice ride, we took advantage of the 4x4 and even drove through a lake. Everything was topped off with a shared, super delicious asado.
        Thank you very much!

FRANCO, the amazing driver/guide was helpful and very informative. He made the trip very enjoyable. "Rosita" managed to make it through all of the challenging terrain. I never though that riding in a 4x4 through the forest and lake could be this much fun. The scenery was spectacular and the lunch, with some nice Malbec, added to the experience.

Laura is a great guide with a PhD in local biology she’s the person to talk about fauna and flora of the area. She’s given us great explanations throughout the day plus we walked quite a bit soaking the views in. On top of that the lunch was fantastic, a lot of tasty food and great wine. Highly recommend

Pick up was right on time. We have an unusual sunny day. Total 6 people in our group. Eduardo - fantastic skill driver and Camilla - wonderful tour guide. They work as a great team. Very knowledgeable and informative of the areas and answer all our questions. They make sure we enjoy our trip and all our needs are taken care of. We have so much fun slipping and sliding driving through the mud. Then up the hills, down the hills, through the streams and cross the lake!!!
Eduardo and Camilla also cooked our lunch. Great chefs, starting off with great appetizers - chips, olives and cheese, sausage dog, etc. than follow with salad. Our main course was bbq rib-eye steak. Great local wine. Can’t ask for more in the wildness. Highly recommended.

Everything went smooth, they came in time for the pick-up, car was confy, driver was talkative, new what he did.

The only problem we had: weather. Come on, this is Cape Horn, how is it possible no wind, 22°C???

Some parts of the tour really required 4x4, lunch was excellent, could not eat to much stake as the beginner course was already sooo big.

Incredible experience with Canal Fun in Ushuaia! We were honeymooning and joined a 4x4 trip with 2 solo female travelers & 1 older couple. The vehicle was roomy enough for all of us, and our guide made periodic stops to ensure we all had a turn in the front seat. The off-roading was insane - through the lake, over hills, and all very safe. The views were absolutely stunning. Unparalleled. And lunch at the shelter was incredibly delicious!! We were stuffed and happy about it. The food was amazing, the wine was perfection, and the crew was friendly. We made friends with our tour mates and had one of the best days of our trip. I would recommend this excursion to people of all ages and activity levels.

I tried several different companies on my recent visit to Patagonia and I must say Canal Fun & Nature was one of the best. I thought I'd try something different rather than conventional excursions and I was not disappointed. A fun-packed day in a 4x4 sliding about in the mud and splashing along lake shores - not for the faint-hearted. What I particularly liked about the excursion was the friendly nature of the guides, no pretensions, no showing-off. They had a great attitude, showing us what they knew and could do in a natural manner. Thanks guys!
