Overview

A scenic harbor in Southern California known as the “Whale Capital of the West,” Dana Point makes an ideal spot for spotting majestic marine animals. On a boat designed specifically for whale-watching, you’ll come face-to-face with the gentle giants on this exciting cruise off the coast. Listen to fascinating commentary from your captain, and keep an eye out for sea lions, dolphins, and sharks.

What to Expect
Climb aboard the Dana Pride to begin your wildlife tour of the Californian coast. Built exclusively for whale watchers, the sleek vessel features a viewing deck, a large salon, and a snack bar, so you’ll be able to observe the action in high style.

Head to the open-air deck to listen to the calls of seabirds while you keep an eye out for cresting whales. Or settle in below deck, where you can enjoy the view from a window as you sip a drink. Listen to the captain’s commentary about the variety of underwater wildlife you’ll encounter during the tour.

Thousands of dolphins, whales, sea lions, and sharks can be found year-round off the scenic coast of Orange County, so you’ll be guaranteed plenty of exciting sightings. Lean back and enjoy the abundant ocean life without leaving the comfort of the ship.

Whales and dolphins Oh, My!

This was a very comfortable boat with lots off room to move about. We saw only one whale, but followed him for quite a while for good views. There's just no way to guarantee how many you will see, as it's up to the whales!...More

My family of four, including at 9 and 11 year old loved this excursion. It was a joy to watch a baby whale and it's mother swim harmoniously together up the striking California coast. We even had the opportunity to watch them play in a...More

I think the best time to go is the first thing in the morning. You do not have as much boat traffic and the whales and dolphins seem to be more active. I have been out in the early am and around 12 and 2 and the early... More
