I understand COVID/staffing are still ongoing issues, however, tickets should then not be full price for a sub-par experience. We paid over $1000 for one day tickets and quick queue passes for a family of 5; not to mention our flight and hotel costs. Montu never opened the entire day. Cobra's Curse and Falcon's Fury were both closed for about 1/2 the day so we ended up even more exhausted crossing back and forth across the park. Also closed: almost all kiosk snack vendors; henna tattoo booth; Lory Landing (which was a major reason we wanted to come for my teen daughter who wants to be an ornithologist); Skyride and Stanley Falls Flume just to name a few. When I called into your customer service to get instructions on how to work the quick queue passes, they told me I had to go to the service window on arrival and get wristbands. 15 minutes wasted in line and the employee tells me they don't do wristbands in Tampa and since I am the only one with the bar codes on my phone I will have to be with my teenagers to scan them into each ride. Another employee later told me there was somewhere to go to get a printed card or something but by then I felt I had wasted enough time. Multiple rides that were open did not have enough staff to properly operate them. Our quick queue passes were not even looked at on several rides and several rides had no quick queue staff directing guests where to go, so it was left to the two lines to figure out how merge together. Child swap is not done well; no one could even explain it to us properly for the first couple rides; what I finally gathered is that if you have quick queue then child swap is worthless. Park signage is not sufficient and the app is insufficient and not intuitive; e.g. evening activities show on the map during the day which just causes confusion. Employees were a mix - some very nice and a couple fully rude. Leaving the parking lot took about 40 minutes; no staff members were directing traffic until about 6:45pm when they moved some barriers and people could finally get out. In summary, extremely overpriced for what is delivered. We have been to Disney, Cedar Point, Six Flags and Universal; IMO all were considerably better; either better experiences or at least better value for your money.

My teens loved it. There are plenty of rollercoasters for those who love them.
We live in Florida, so we go to theme parks usually once a year. It’s July & school is out so expect crowds. Main complaint we had was the food. We expect high prices, but fries should be fresh and not stale for $15 for achicken tender platter. $5 for a small container of Pringles? That profit margin is ridiculous. It also was hard to find a place to sit after you it food. Staff is young ( seems mostly college age students) but helpful. We did not get quick queue passes and I’m glad because we didn’t need them . Iron Gwazi was only ride where wait was long (1 hour) , but that’s because it’s new and close to entrance. We got there at 12:30 pm and left at 7 pm, and we got to do most rides and see 2 shows.

After 5 pm, the park is noticeably less crowded as parents with toddlers leave. During the summer, park closes at 9 pm so coming late if you can means less time waiting for rides. Before 5pm was a 70 minute wait for Congo Rapids, but after 5 pm, it was 20 minutes. Also, the ice skating show and electric circus were about 30 minutes each and fantastic. Don’t miss them. There aren’t too many animals here which is different from years past. One gorilla, one tiger & 2 cheetahs - only multiples were alligators, birds , fish and flamingoes. It’s not a big thing unless a big part of your visit is seeing animals. Overall, this a great park which you can do in one day. Great value for the money.

We are thrilled to read you had a positive experience throughout your visit to Busch Gardens. We are pleased to see your family enjoyed our Turn It Up and Cirque Electric shows. Additionally, we regret to read that you weren’t able to view as many of our animals as you had hoped. Our animals are able to leave and re-enter their habitats freely to eat, drink, and sleep. We understand the love our guests have for our animals and appreciate the continued understanding that this type of freedom within their enclosures may lead to less time in view but greater comfort for our animals. Our guest's feedback is an incredibly valuable tool we do not take for granted and appreciate you taking your time to share your time at our park. -HA

If Disney is the “Happiest place on earth” then Busch Gardens has to take the title for “The most miserable place on earth”. Having spent a number of days at Disney and experienced the happy, cheerful staff who always had a smile and a friendly greeting it was quite a shock to the system being at Busch Gardens. We have been here for 5 hours so far and most ride staff have not uttered a single word to us (a grunt or two at best), not even in response to a greeting from us.

The rides themselves seem understaffed, with 1 member of staff at the main entrance of each ride and no-one controlling the embarkation points on many of them so it turns into a free for all where the quick queue and standard queues merge.

On one ride we were told the quick queue wasn’t operating as there was “only a short queue” in the standard line but 2 minutes later people were let into the quick queue. Regardless of the length of the standard queue the quick queue should always operate when you have paid for it!

Food quality and choice is very poor, with most outlets serving the exact same choices (pizza, chicken, burger or Caesar salad).

During the current thunderstorm, there is a huge queue at the Giraffe Bar in the Serengeti Overlook and only 1 person working the entire bar area.

The rides themselves are really good, but the entire experience feels cheap, run down and leaves me wishing I’d spent the money elsewhere instead. The ONLY reason I’ve given it as high as 2/5 is because the rides are actually very good.

We bought our tickets buy one get one free on the Buschgardens website. After purchasing the tickets they were delivered via email quickly which was nice. We got to the park paid for parking and went to entrance. We pulled our tickets over email and it said on the ticket specifically to go directly to the front gate. So we did they scanned our tickets and said they were inactive and told us we had to go back to ticketing to get them activated. We waited at ticketing for about 25-30 minutes and got help from someone there that seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. Nothing against her probably just a lack of training. The overall experience inside the park was ok not many snack vendors open and food was mostly via mobile order only. Was pretty disappointed In the overall experience.

Absolutely terrible visit - we were there from 10 until 8pm and only got on 2 rides - it was overcrowded and no staff. The wait times were over 2 hours on each ride unless you paid an extra $130 for skip the line. You are nor allowed to bring your own food and drink into the park but the queue for lunch took nearly 2 hours as there wasnt many places open. The app does not give wait times and there are no information boards about the park that give you this info. If they haven’t got the staff to operate they should limit the capacity rather than cramming as many people in as they can. It was an absolute shambles and will never go back - a huge disappointment.

We moved from Virginia where we went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg every summer, so were excited to get our Busch Gardens Tampa Bay season passes. It has been the most horrendous entertainment experience of our adults lives. When you arrive first thing in the morning, you have to wait in line for a shuttle to get to the park . Every roller coaster had a 2 hour plus wait. The rides would inexplicably shut down after waiting in line for a long time. We have tried it twice this summer. Today my husband and kids were at the park for 5 hours and rode one ride. One. ride. The Quick Queue feature is very misleading, it advertises the price starting at $15 a day, but every date you can select has a starting price of $99. I called Customer Service and they refuse to give us any break on our passes we invested in. So I guess we can just consider that money down the drain.

We regret to read about your recent to Busch Gardens Tampa. We always appreciate feedback from guests especially Pass Members to better improve the park experience. Please be advised, our Quick Queue prices are dynamic and date dependent. We are disappointed to read your visit was affected by ride closures, despite our annual maintenance our attractions can experience unexpected delays due to technical difficulties. After reading some of the negative reviews I thought about cancelling our trip to Busch Gardens. I'm glad I didn't and we had a fantastic time. I booked a hotel package a stayed at the Hampton Inn just across the street form the park (the hotel has a complimentary shuttle that is quick and easy to use). Although it rained the morning we arrived and some rides were closed, we were able to walk around and see the animals and get an over-view of the park. Our package included one day of unlimited meals which was good especially for the drinks which we got almost every hour in order to stay hydrated. We stayed the first night until closing and after the fireworks show. We arrived just before opening on our second day and purchased another meal package and two Quick Que passes which allowed use to go to the front of the ride lines. We never waited more than 10 minutes for nay ride which allowed us to ride A LOT. Our favorite rides were Tigris, Cheetah Hunt and Montu. Unfortunately, Cobra's Curse was not working, but we were given limited Quick Que passes which we used on our third day to ride a couple of rides. We rode every thrill ride at the park (all are great) except Cobra's Curse, Falcon's Fury and the Rapids Ride (we didn't want to get drenched), went to both shows Electric Cirque and Turn it up, rode the train ride several times and walked a lot. The park is clean, well organized and the staff are friendly and helpful. With the Unlimited Meal Plan which we had for our two full days at the park you are allowed a meal (entrée, side or dessert and beverage) once every hour from the restaurants. Yes, the service could be faster and lines get long at "regular" meal times, we didn't have any problems. We got a beverage from a kiosk (it's not advertised, but allowed) when we first arrived at 10:00, ate an early lunch, got a beverages at 1:00 & 3:00, ate an early dinner, got a beverage at 6:00, 8:00 and 9:00 (it's hot and we needed them). One day of the meal plan was included in our package; the other day cost $45 per person, but I calculated we would've spent $80 or more without the plan (yes, the food in the park is expensive). The Quick Que pass which we purchased for our second day was $100 person, but it allowed use to ride everything in the park without waiting (one ride we went on had a 1 1/2 hour wait and we only waited 10 minutes). Our third day was short since we had a plane to catch, but we were able to ride three rides and the train around the park before leaving. Are we glad we went - YES. Would we go back - YES. Don't believe the negative reviews.

We have been on a family holiday which included Disney, the 3 universal parks, discovery cove and Busch gardens in Tampa.

We have just finished a day in Busch gardens which was great if you only wanted to do a roller coaster ride, because nearly everything else was closed!! All of the water rides were closed on a day the was 95 degrees and humid! How can they be so audacious to charge USD30 for parking and USD25 for a locker which we needed because our towels and swimwear was no use to us, on a day that felt like the park was at most, half open!!

Then the best bit, chick fil-a, USD52 for two chicken sandwiches and 1 chicken nuggets. Then I was accused by the table cleaner of not clearing my table as I had left my table after I had eaten to go over to my kids table to speak with them. I explained to her that I hadn’t left the restaurant yet and besides that, there was no sign to say I had to clear my own table. She was so rude, it couldn’t believe it!!

I asked a number of staff in the park for help re other parts of the park/directions, and I couldn’t believe everyone’s responded with “I don’t know sir”. No one was helpful, none of the staff had any knowledge when we looked for assistance, in fact most of them looked extremely unmotivated to be doing a job there at all. The restaurants were outrageously expensive and pretty dirty.

On the plus side, feeding the giraffes was a great experience!

On a wider note, I have been in Florida for over 3 weeks and I have noticed a real change in service levels and I am told this is due to staff shortages. I can understand why this might impact availability, but it doesn’t allow for bad or a rude service level. The experience we have had over the last 3 weeks has been a very different experience to what we would have had on previous trips to the US in terms of service and cost. The costs have gone through the ceiling and service through the floor…… very disappointing.

We are so disappointed to see this experience while visiting our park and engaging with our ambassadors throughout the park. We do recommend our guests review our Attraction Closure list on our website prior to visiting for any attractions that may be undergoing maintenance. The hospitality that we show our guests has always been the hallmark of our park. We are so sorry this visit did not meet those expectations. For any additional assistance, we recommend reaching out to our Guest Correspondence team at BGA.GuestInformation@BuschGardens.com - LJ

Overall if you and a few buddies want to spend a day in the sun, have at it. I would not recommend for a family vacation as it would be too much money to pay for all the little extras that would make it fun.

The good:
1) no mask needed (good)
2) able to buy food and most rides open
3) animals seem well fed and they are being cared for.
4) many coasters to choose from but watch height restrictions.

The bad
1) “Quick que” is their version of “fast pass” but it’s not very good in my opinion. I’ve been to Disney, Hershey park, universal and kings dominion but this was by far my worst experience. The quick Q wait was 5 minutes but general admission is over 1 hour wait. I thought general admit would be ok and didn’t pay for the upgrade. Now I know that if you want to ride ANY rides pay extra. The general admit may only ensure to ride 3-4 rides for a whole day! (Park is only open 10-6pm)
2) rides frequently breaking down
3) no special refund or coupon as compensation for broken down ride.
4) many food stalls were closed. (I would have bought lunch but got a snack instead)
5) they don’t seem to know how to load passengers into the coasters. They will send seats empty on a coaster with people waiting in LONG lines. If they had a single rider line, it would move much better but overall I would just say the inefficiency can make you mad while you wait hours to ride.
6) parking a car for $25 seems like a price gouging.
7) there are no special shows or theater right now. Maybe next month?

Drove up from Orlando (90min plus) which was a bit of a risk as we only have a few days left on vacation. My advice is to budget for $50 extra per person or don’t waste your time going to this park. The queues are very badly managed with the Quick Pass ($50 pp) visitors getting total priority over regular visitors. This means when you read 40min wait time it will 2-3 times worse in my experience on 4 rides. I even asked if the 10min wait time was realistic after my first 80 min wait in a supposed 40min queue, and was assured it was. It took exactly 37min. By the time I had got through the first 3 hours of my day in lines with my wife and four kids it felt too late to upgrade and the day was a write off. I give an extra star for the Ice Skating show the quality of the rides.
Avoid this park and stay in Orlando unless you want to spend the extra cash, the experience of being made to feel like lower class visitors while those in the know ride multiple times while you queue is infuriating believe me.
