Overview
Spot dolphins and manatees in their natural habitat in Boca Ciega Bay on this cruise. After exploring the bay, head to the Gulf of Mexico and visit Shell Key island, a preserve located at the mouth of Tampa Bay, where you are able to snorkel, swim, and stroll the beach. We booked the tour and were very pleased. It was very relaxing & in a pontoon. My grandchildren, ages 1 & 4, loved the ride, seeing dolphins & collecting shells. Capt. Tony was very courteous, informative, operated the boat very effectively & ensured absolute safety with

We booked our ferry tour after a friend referred us. We boarded the boat and captain Dalton and Tony made sure we saw dolphins that day! Dalton was very personable and gave us tons of info on the surrounding marine and plant life. We saw five dolphins on our tour ... it was very

First of all that I felt was not clear but should’ve been was that their version of snorkeling is really shell collecting. The water was not clear and the current was too strong to swim. I’m not a fan of disrupting the environment and they encourage to take bags of shells home.

So you book our tour specifically to collect shells and see dolphins, and then complain when you actually get to do both. And yes everyone else snorkels with the gear we provide, and no one else has ever mentioned a strong current. The shells you are allowed to take are those *without* a living creature inside, and those are permitted by the state of Florida. Take it up with the government. The entire west coast of Florida all engage in the same thing. As for the dolphins, we always maintain a safe distance from our dolphin friends, as per guidelines. If we were a bother to them, they would have immediately bolted off at 25 mph and left us in the dust. There is hypocrisy in your review. If you were so environmentally conscious, you would have taken a kayak or paddleboard tour. Or just watched the dolphins from one of our bridges. Incidentally, all of our captains and staff are environmentalists, and we love our islands and wildlife, and we selflessly contribute more toward environmental cleanup and stewardship than you ever could imagine.

Wow Tracy James, you do have a dark view on life. A beach of broken shells you say? There are beautiful (and intact) shells everywhere, some with living creatures hiding inside, such as hermit crabs and seahorses. Take off your dark and dismal glasses and you will see all of them in their splendor. By the way, the pictures are all posted by TripAdvisor tourists while experiencing our tours. They were not posted by Island Ferry. If you found the pictures misleading you should contact the other tourists who had a wonderful experience with us.

Overall, the trip was amazing. Our captain, Dalton, was experienced and showed us pods of dolphins who even surfed the waves behind our boat. The shell beach was great and even though it rained and the water was rougher, we still had a wonderful time hunting for shells,
