Chicago Loop Secret Food Tour

Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
Join this 3-hour tour of Chicago's food scene, and see what sets this friendly mid-western metropolis apart. On this 12 person maximum walking tour of the 'Chicago Loop', a local guide will share with you some hidden gems and great stories about the city. Taste where the world-famous dipped Italian beef sandwich was invented, try some of the best deep dish Chicago pizza. Be shown how important the immigrants that built this town are to the food scene.
  • Bring your appetite for generous tastings of Chicago's signature foods
  • Take a leisurely walk around the Loop in downtown Chicago
  • Learn from your guide about the city's history and food culture
  • See outdoor public art by Picasso, Miro, and Chagall
What to Expect
Make your own way to a centrally located meeting point to join your guide. Start your food tour by snacking on hearty deep-dish pizza, and learn how Chicago’s pizza differs from others. Continue to a historic spot that serves up dipped Italian beef sandwiches, and then try a Chicago-style hot dog, traditionally accompanied by seven specific toppings (never ketchup). Nibble a savory and sweet “secret food” beloved in the Windy City, and top it off with dessert at the Art Institute of Chicago. Along the way, stop into a bar that was founded in 1898 and survived the Prohibition era, see some of Chicago's renowned public art, and stroll through Millennium Park to see the famous Cloud Gate sculpture

I don’t think you’ll have time, unless you broke off from the tour early. My tour was three and a half hours. I’ve been on a bunch of Secret Food Tours and they do not rush you along. They’re very customer friendly. If you... More
