A Must for Your First Trip to Portland

GREAT introduction to Portland. Our guide, Ross, was a great narrator. The history of Portland is fascinating. He was able to get us inside the custom house as well.

Good Guide not that much to see
The tour was good for what it was. Marcia did a great job, there just wasn’t that much to see compared to other cities.
The tour did get us out of the wharf area to see other areas of the city. Marcia also told us about other things we could do on our own after the tour, which was very helpful.

Nice Walking Tour
Oct 2021
Nice tour with Marcia---she has lots of stories to tell and relates a number of interesting experiences. If you want a 'fast' tour, you won't enjoy this--if you want a nice stroll, good conversation/history with a local, this is your ticket. We enjoyed it and met some interesting people in our group as well. Wear your walking shoes.

Do the Food Tour Instead
The tour guide did a good job trying to bring out the lack luster history of Portland, however she was very verbose and digressed a lot. What should have been a 1.5 hr tour was a 2.5 hour tour. My suggestion - do the food tour that way you can learn a bit of history while trying some of the local fare.

We are very sorry to read that you felt the history of Portland was lackluster and that your tour guide ran a little long. We all do our best to finish the history tours in 2 to 2.25 hours, but sometimes with slow walkers we can be slowed down a bit. Sorry to disappoint you…

A Perfect Experience for History Fans
Ross was a wonderful host. His knowledge of Portland history is exemplary. I got far more out of it than I imagined I would. I was inspired to continue walking around town afterward. If I return to Portland I’ll do it again.

Great Walk and Talk
Sep 2021
Ross was our tour guide. He had the perfect personality for this tour - such a personable guy, with lot's of stories and a great grasp of the history. He took his time and answered everyone's question. He had great recommendations and was just a fun person to listen to while we walked the town. Highly recommend this tour. You won't be disappointed.
