Great fun & learning tour of Charlotte
Segway tour of central Charlotte was a great way to learn the history & geography of this beautiful old town. We were four adults & two teenage boys. We’ve done Segway tours in 3 other towns.. and this was by FAR the best run in terms of logistics, safety & information shared. A fun, learning experience. Our tour guide was ROD. I suggest you ask for him by name. He is a 45 year town resident, very informed, personable & patient. BRAVO

    Do it! It’s incredible
Our guide was amazing. She knew everyone and was not in a hurry to rush us through. Stopped at an adorable shop to pick up deli sandwiches and was incredible even when we popped a tire

    Dianna rules!
This was one of my favorite trips. Dianna made it so special and fun taking us all around the city. We love seeing new cities on bike because you can really get deep and this did not disappoint. Even after having a flat she was able to fox everything in less than ten minutes and get us back on the road literally. If you are a fan of getting some activity while seeing new sites this is for you!!!

Have a blast touring on a Segway!
It was a blast!! Rod took extra time to instruct us on how to safely operate a Segway. It was really fun…and informative. Rod had many Charlotte historical, present and personal stories that kept the tour interesting and fun.

A great experience you shouldn't miss
We (a group of 3) booked the Segway Tour to see more of Charlotte than by foot and learn a bit simultaneously. This was the best decision we could have made. Our tour guide Isaiah told us about Charlotte and its history with so much passion that we looked forward to the next stopping point for more information. We saw many parts of the city we'd never seen if we walked by ourselves. Driving on segways was lots of fun, too and we recommend this tour to anyone stopping by in Charlotte. Charlotte NC Tours is a must do in our opinion!

We had so much fun cruising around Charlotte on our Segways and learning all about the city’s history. Our tour guide Rod was awesome. He was so laid back, friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend doing this tour.

Best way to spend a Sunday morning!
Great tour from Rod of the beautiful uptown Charlotte. Sunday morning is a great time as its quiet so it felt like a VIP tour! Very informative and interesting commentary, great training which meant riding the Segway was fun without being stressful. The route covered the best of uptown. I was even given some great recommendations of what to do after with the rest of my day which turned out to be great tips!. I very much recommend this as an introduction to Charlotte.

    Fun with interesting CLT history
I love doing Segway tours of cities. As an experienced Segway rider, we had fun zipping around the city learning about the cities 4 wards and the historic significance of the area. Isaiah was very knowledgeable and made it interesting.

Stretch first. 10 out of 10, would do it again.
On Sunday we had the pleasure of celebrating our son's birthday with Isaiah and Lane on Segways. Due to the potential weather, there was some concern that we wouldn't be able to go out however, after waiting 15ish minutes the weather cleared up enough for us! We were a group of 7: 5 teenage boys and 2 adults. I will admit it was a bit difficult to get the hang of it at first but after a 2nd practice run we were good-to-go. We had the most fun in the open areas: BOA stadium and a park. The boys were able to really get the hang of it and feel comfortable with the devices. The guides were helpful in teaching us and keeping us engaged. All but 1 of our participants said 10 out of 10 would do again. The one hold out gave it a 7 as the video prior to riding scared the ba-jeeebers out of him. I will say be prepared: wear comfortable, closed toe shoes and stretch prior to climbing on for your tour. You will use muscles that you probably are not prepared to use and be sore if you don't stretch (and maybe sore even if you do stretch). Also - it would have been helpful to have the forms in advance of the event given that the parents of 4 of the teens were not in attendance and unable to sign permission.

Brean was our tour guide. He was absolutely amazing! His love for Charlotte is apparent and results in an enthusiastic informative tour. After sharing a safety video with us he patiently showed my partner how to mount and ride the Segway in under 10 minutes. It was his first time and he felt comfortable and safe. The tour showed us the 4 wards of Charleston. history of the founders, Charlotte’s endeavors in the Arts including sculptures, theater halls, and the creation of ‘Live, work, play spaces’. What I loved about the tour was seeing the commercial spaces integrated into the area without visually detracting from the city. Charlotte maintains all the benefits of a large city including multiple stadiums easily accessible from downtown, but it still feels warm and inviting. Brean was also sure to point out great eateries and museums. We ate lunch at Optimist Hall on his recommendation and it was perfect. Any visit to Charlotte would not be complete without a Segway ride and I recommend you ask for Brean. I will ask for him the next time I visit.

This was one of our favorite experiences of our trip. Rod was an incredible tour guide who genuinely loves Charlotte and his excitement for the city was contagious. We learned so much and had the best time. Would highly recommend this tour (especially at the beginning of your trip so you can come back to all of the interesting spots).

My wife and I booked our Segway tour on the last day of our getaway weekend. The weather was chilly and overcast but we had a wonderful time touring the city without walking. We had never been to Charlotte before and this was great way to see and learn about it.
For whatever the reason my wife and I were the only ones taking the tour so we had a private experience with our tour guide Lane. He was only 19 but he was very knowledgeable and professional. His instructions for using the Segway were very helpful making us feel comfortable and confident to safely ride them. Great job Lane!
We highly recommend Charlotte NC Tours if you’re interested in a fun experience.

My brother, sister-in-law, and I had the pleasure of doing this tour today and we had so much fun.
First I will say that the segway itself was, at first, a little intimidating but it hardly took any practice to get the hang of it. I was the only one in the group that had never ridden one before and the instructional video and short training session was all I needed to get going. Segways are really fun!
Our tour guide was Rod and his knowledge of Charlotte and North Carolina was impressive and you could tell that he is very proud of the city's history. This is a very fun way to see some of the hidden gems of Uptown Charlotte and Rod led us safely through many of them. There were several opportunities to stop and take photos so be sure to bring your phones or cameras but just know you cannot use them while you are on the segway.
Also, be sure to wear a comfortable pair of shoes. Although you aren't walking you are standing and using your feet to operate the segway.
Thanks for an awesome and interesting afternoon!

Great way to see the Uptown Neighborhoods and learn the history of the city. The tour guides were well informed about the history of Charlotte. First and foremost, they paid attention to safety. As you can assume, while not difficult, you do have to know what you are doing to be safe. I learned more about the city that I have lived in for 10 years by seeing the inside attractions in Uptown

This was a great way to tour a city! The segways were relatively easy to operate and allowed us to cover considerable ground.

I had always wanted to do a segway tour and decided to do so while visiting Charlotte, NC for the first time. Our guide, Paul, was professional, patient, courteous, and personable. He was extremely patient with the group as he instructed each of us on how to ride the segways; he was knowledgeable about the city; he stopped several times and took photos of us at points of interest; and willingly answered our questions. And I appreciated that he took great care to ensure we safely navigated downtown during a particularly busy day!

Also, the company did an excellent job managing expectations by forwarding detailed information about parking and logistics prior to our arrival. I really enjoyed the experience and, therefore, highly recommend it.

Rod was our tour guide and he was great. He is a long time resident of Charlotte and is very in tune with the vibe of the city. He gave us great tidbits of the history of the city and other interesting information. Rod was very attentive to our safety while riding our Segways. The riding was incredibly fun for us. it was the first time for many of us, but we picked it up right away. Not hard to learn at all. The distance we covered would have been a chore had it been walking tour. We were able to see historic neighborhoods, get some great restaurant reviews and took photos at the "best kept secret" in historical paintings of Charlotte ever. Overall the Segway tour was a great way to tour the city since it's effortless and we covered a great deal of ground. Rod was a great tour guide who was engaging and friendly. Tours go on rain or shine unless there's a ton of snow on the ground. We lucked out with great weather and temperature!

This past Sunday in September marked a "First Time" for me in two areas: Segways and Official tours. I've been on some interesting tours prior to living in Charlotte, but they were years ago and barely memorable.........Enter James Rice III.

If there was ever a person so well-spirited, knowledgeable, and patient when it comes to this kind of event, it's James. He showed genuine enthusiasm towards me and the other patrons that I was grouped with for the day, never appearing to behave like a robot or someone who's in it purely for a body count.

He was patient and thorough when teaching us how to properly operate a segway, and for it being my first time, after his debriefing, it felt almost second nature. As we took the tour throughout various locales within the city, James demonstrated his knowledge of these places very well. Though history doesn't interest me as heavily, somehow I found myself engaged and even encouraged to ask questions, and James was ready with an answer.

Even during the rare time he didn't have an answer, he was forthcoming and did his research on the spot during one of our breaks.

I conclude by saying the tour wouldn't have been as entertaining and engaging without the guy. He made it fun, and I have no regrets whatsoever. Now excuse me while I confirm my Amazon payment for my first segway!

Segway Training:
Our Segway trainer was Rod. Rod had strong communication skills and provided good instructions. He emphasized safe riding techniques that kept everyone free from injury.

Rod was patient with learners… gave timely and considerate attention to those who needed additional instructions on maneuvering the Segway. Great interpersonal skills and had a warm welcoming voice that’s perfect for radio.

Rod genuinely cares about tourists experiences in the city of Charlotte. He went out of his way to let us know that our hometown team was playing a game in the city while we were there.

Segway Tour:
Our tour guide was David. A cool historian who dropped knowledge with ease and accuracy.

David shared many interesting facts… like Queen Charlotte was a direct descended from Margarita de Castro y Sousa, a Black branch of the Portuguese royal house. We had no idea that the Queen of Charlotte, North Carolina had African ancestry… and she had 15 children with King George.

Also we really appreciated David’s willingness to capture shots of our family when we stopped in specific areas. He earned an extra tip for that!

David was well informed, enthusiastic and engaging. David is also an artist. Check out the attached pic of his artwork.

Tip #1. Arrive 45 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time for training if you want your tour to start on time.

Tip #2. Listen to instructions, pay attention and gain understanding. Handling the Segway is simply small nuances in the slight shifting of your body weight. If I did it… you can do it!

Tip #3 for Rod & David: Get the Cash App or Apple Pay so tourists who don’t travel with cash can leave a respectable tip for the good customer experience you provide.

Our Segway Tour was an overall great experience… we enjoyed every moment of the 1.5 hour tour through the fourth ward! Rod & David gave our family a memorable event we’ll never forget. They both were simply awesome and if you’re fortunate enough to get Rod & David you definitely won’t be disappointed.

When traveling for the past several years, my wife and I discovered Segway tours and always look for one. A fantastic way to get around a city and get some local history. Traveling solo on this trip, I found Charlotte NC Tours and booked right away. This was my 14th Segway tour in 10 cities.

Once again, not disappointed. Turned out I was the only one booked for this tour so my guide Rod and I took off on our own. It was nice to get the personal experience and Rod was excellent at explaining about the history and neighborhoods of the city.

Definitely recommend this tour, and hopefully you'll be lucky enough to get Rod as your guide.
