From the start the crew did everything they could to welcome us on board & make us feel comfortable. The weather was not great so we were restricted to being inside most of the trip up the river to Tumbulgum. A little negative was that we were told we only had about half an hour to explore this quaint little village, so we rushed back to the jetty to find the break ended up being over an hour. However the delicious bbq lunch made up for any negatives. We would have liked a little more commentary on the history of the river & surrounds, but this was probably due to our very large & noisy group booking. Overall, a lovely way to spend a day.

Thanks for you review, and the feedback you have given is fantastic, I will definitely pass on to the crew your comments and discuss the commentary on busy days how they can handle that better. Tumbulgum stopover, is beautiful little village, we get a mix response to short to long, but we could of been more accurate with a time we told you. Appreciate your feedback and honesty, we look forward to to having you on board again.

From initial booking to boarding, food, service and commentary the whole experience was smooth and professional. 3.5 hour cruise up the Tweed River with Dean the cruise captain who also provided an excellent insight into the geographical history of the landscape, flora and fauna of the area and why it is so important. Dean also displayed respect (because of his knowledge) of Indigenous culture and past practices. We will go on other tours with Eco Cruises when back in the area.

5 of us went on this cruise for my sister’s birthday and we had a lovely day—11:30am to 2:30pm. Stares with coffee and cake and a wonderful informative commentary as we cruised up the Tweed RiverThe indigenous history was extremely interesting and enlightening. Lunch was a shared (x 2) platter full of fresh cheeses. meats and fruits served with fresh bread. The bar was limited but we found a wine we liked and enjoyed
The staff- Captain and deck hand were friendly, professional and welcoming
I would definitely recommend this luncheon cruise to you

Happy Birthday, thank you for sharing your review. I am so happy you enjoyed your day out with our Crew Eric and Dean, they love the boat and river, and to have a good time as well as the customers! Great we had the wine you liked, (I do a bit of taste testing on the side so we get it right)!

This was a magnificent trip. We had a perfect day with clear sunny sky although a little wind. However, the Golden Swan is large vessel and we were very comfortable aboard. Although being locals who know the Tweed, we found Captain Dean's narratives very informative and entertaining.
The trip was soooo relaxing. Then we fed the pelicans, sea eagles and gulls. Some magnificent photo ops there.
On the way back, First Mate Monique served us a delicious lunch which we enjoyed inside seated at tables with large windows to watch the world go by. Much better than balancing a plate on your knee.

A great trip, slow and pleasant. Scenery and wildlife. The boat moved slowly up river with the captain giving detailed history as we moved along. Interesting commentary especially about the floods. Lunch was a tasting platter for two with a excellent variety and more than enough food. The pre-purchase drink was anything from the bar. Normal bar price very reasonable around $10 per alcoholic beverage. The two level boat allowed people to go upstairs to the open but covered deck for a better view, no windows. The commentary still clear. The pelican feeding attracted a dozen or so plus an Osprey and a Eagle circled over head. It was a very pleasant way to spent 3.5hours.

We just got home from spending the most fabulous day with Tweed Eco Cruises. The crew made everyone feel so welcome and the commentary was first class providing all aboard with interesting facts about our beautiful Tweed area. The views are simply spectacular and gives you a deeper appreciation of the place we call home. Lunch was also top notch being a platter of smoked chicken, frittata, cheeses, fresh prawns and fruit. A bar on board is very responsibly priced and the cocktail was soooo good. Our fellow passengers were also a delight with all joining in for a birthday song and cheers.

A lovely relaxing and informative river cruise. I would call it a light lunch of mostly appetizer style food which was enough for us to pick at while sipping on a tasty local gin mixer and gazing out at the lovely views. The cheese and bread pieces were very small and seemed a little tight fisted but I realise the cost of running a large cruise boat with 3 staff would be high. We had a very nice time though.

Thank you for your feedback, our catering has varied a bit over COVID time, so we are still striking a balance with that, but we always have extra food on hand, I am sorry the crew did not offer it to you. It is difficult at this time running the cruises with the costings, but no excuse for being light handed on the food, I hope you can come again and have a G&T and bigger lunch with us. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know about your experience.

An enjoyable cruise along the tweed river, commentary was good and very informative, staff were very friendly & helpful.

Our table seating got mixed up, but was not the fault of the staff on the day, perhaps this happened at the booking office.

The dining experience was a little disappointing in that we were sandwich in at the tables as it was fully booked for the day. We hurried our meal to leave & move up stairs as it was less crowded & to provide more room for the other visitors downstairs who were an older group, who appeared to be having a lovely time which was great to see.

We really enjoyed our Tween River cruise on the Golden Swan. The commentary was broad ranging and really interesting. Information ranged from early indigenous practices, geology, the flora and fauna, plus some local politics. Most importantly, we weren't talked at all day but left to enjoy the river at times. Before we booked, we reviewed a range of cruise options and this appeared to be the best value for money and we were not disappointed. We would definitely recommend this cruise for those with a few hours to spare to explore the beautiful Tweed.

Thank you for your lovely comments about our cruise, we do like to share our knowledge, but the river does speak for herself during the cruise we feel, we should let her have her voice to... thanks again for joining us.

A perfect way to celebrate a birthday...cruising up the Tweed River on a charming 50year old vessel, spotting (and feeding) a wonderful array of bird life, listening to a well researched commentary on indigenous and European local history, gliding between rain forests and open farmland. Morning tea, lunch and drinks made for a very relaxed day. Staff and Captain were excellent. A few dollars spent on little things like new table cloths wouldn’t go astray. There is a certain “old world charm” to the vessel which is lovely.

Thanks for joining us for your birthday, we take great pride in our cruises and showing that old world charm of the boat is something we love to highlight.. The tablecloths are being replaced today they where a temporary measure till the material arrived that we order before christmas! so that is being seen to now. Hope to see you for your next birthday.
