Itinerary

Your cruise starts at Aquarium Wharf, where you'll board your genuine tall ship, powered only by Mother Nature and her incredible wind power. Once on board, watch the crew hoist the sails. Travel through waters that Blackbeard once anchored in, relax on deck, and imagine a time when the harbor was filled with these magnificent ships.

While this is not a narrated cruise, the incredible crew is happy to answer questions about some of Charleston's most historic landmarks that you will see, such as Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown, an Essex-class aircraft carrier that played an important role during World War II.

See beautiful homes that line the Battery and famous Fort Sumter, where the first shots of the Civil War were fired, and watch for pelicans performing diving acts. Don't forget about Charleston's own modern marvel with an up-close look at the impressive Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the western hemisphere. You're welcome to help raise and trim the sails, or you may sit back and enjoy the ride.

You may bring your own food on board, if you wish, but not drinks; beer, wine, and soft drinks are available for purchase on board at your own expense.

RELAXING

I was somewhat concerned about going at 3:00 due to the heat and humidity but I had nothing to worry about. The wind cooperated and it was very enjoyable and thoroughly relaxing. I have been in other cities on similar cruises that had padded cushions...More

Relaxing cruise on Charleston Harbor

The sailing cruise was nice - despite the heat. The weather was wonderful so we got a clear view of the harbor and surrounding banks and islands. There wasn't quite enough wind to go all the way to Ft Sumter, but we got a good...More

Excellent sail today. Captain Jenny decided to cancel the 1 PM sail due to weather concerns and we were able to reschedule later in the day. Crew members Chris and Freeman were helpful with drink service and rearranging the sail for sixteen of us. I...More

Party of 12 - Relaxing (& Expensive)

This was a sunset cruise in mid-July. I figured a few hundred dollars as I was picking up the tab, but when I had to pay a little sticker shock hit me big time. This is not Disney World--you are sitting on deck of a...More

SCHOONER PRIDE -- more like SCHOONER JOKE TOUR

I don't know if we were just unlucky, but this trip was an absolute joke. There was a lot of unhappy people on the AUG 5th, 3:30 PM tour and I wonder if any other reviewer will corroborate this as well. This was apparently supposed...More

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your complaint about the lack of seeing dolphins, which is of course, beyond our control. There is a large population in the harbor and we typically see quite a few on our sails. The Pride is intentionally not...More
